I know it’s months later now, but Menopause Taylor who this lady mentions, does individual consultations, if you can afford it. I haven’t done this yet, as I am in Germany and my newest gynaecologist has taken a lot of time, so I want to give her a chance to help me. I am 52 and have been suffering with painful vagina and burning while urinating etc. and am finally just about to start HRT with my next period. Also just figured out for myself (no doctor in the last 3 years recommended it) that I needed topical vaginal cream, which has made my life so much easier since starting it a few weeks ago.

I echo the high praise of “Menopause Barbie Taylor!” Her UA-cam tutorials changed everything for me. I feel well-informed and able to make educated decisions about everything related to menopause now. She is an unbiased resource which meant a lot to me. She isn’t trying to sell anything! Smart lady!! I’m doing the same and don’t get the women that say to me “why can’t you Just age gracefully?” We are the ones aging gracefully. They are just aging. And not having sex because they can’t even if they wanted to and they don’t want to. They don’t look good either. I can look at a woman my age, 63, and can tell if she’s on hormones or not. That’s the difference it makes.

You have shared great information! I was put on HRT before I was 50 and it helped so much! I am now 76 and I am on bioiodentical HRT. My gyn checks my blood ever 6 months or more if I have a complaint. My HRT cream is mixed by a drugstore where I live (and they also do the gyn), and I haven’t had any problems. The one very important thing you talked about is vaginal dryness. I have a vaginal pill inserted every other night. My first complaint was “it hurt to walk” and I was given a prescription for a cream, however the pills are so much easier. I have a friend whose bladder was falling out & she had to have surgery and informed me since I had big babies this would probably happen to me. She did confess she had dryness for years, but did nothing. I asked my Dr the next visit if the estrogen I was inserting would prevent this and her answer was “yes”. The other big thing you said was “I found someone to listen”. That is big and sometimes hard to find. Glad you are doing so well.😍👏🌸

Hi Nisha, I celebrate I'm alive, of course, but this isn't a period to celebrate for me, because all of the unpleasent and disgusting symptoms, it's awful, it affects our quality of life , and besides, treatments like HRT aren't accessible in my country, you are so lucky to be able to follow them. Thank you for sharing your experience during perimenopause, and the directions on the net, youtubers don't like to talk about it, looks like a tabú matter.💕

Hello beautiful Nisha! This was a very interesting video! I am
53 and went through the whole ordeal naturally. It was like hell on earth. No one listened to me. I tried lots of natural methods because I was so miserable. Things aren’t better in the US, at least in my experience. I’m glad you are sorted.😘

  • @cobwebafternoon3737

Hi Nisha! Thanks for this video. I agree it's not talked about enough. I have been on hrt almost a year now and doing better. I am 49 and had a complete hysterectomy last year. Let me tell you, it took me 2-3 years to find a surgeon that would operate on me. It's like they think I'm making everything up!
I was so depressed and in pain. I finally met a gynecologist who listened and understood me. I was having irregular periods, abdominal pain, hot flashes, night sweats, migraines, depression and feeling cold all the time.
I thought I had endometriosis but ended up having adenomyosis & multiple cysts. (I was previously diagnosed with severe interstitial cystitis, that's another story).
So after my hysterectomy I am on hrt. Now my body regulates it's temperature perfectly. (Btw I also have hashimotos thyroiditis).
Without making this too long I wanted to share a test I had that tells you what meds work for depression. It tests your DNA and most insurance companies here in the US will cover it. It's called "genesight" but I'm sure there are other companies that do this. It's a simple swap of your cheeks in your mouth. I found out there are only 3 antidepressants that work with my body. It tests you for other medications too.
I also do magnesium spray every evening.
If I can help even one woman with this information I will be happy.
Thanks for reading. I could say more but I don't want to write a book. I love your videos, Nisha, and appreciate all the information you shared. I will also check out the videos you recommended.

Absolutely fantastic video Nisha! I chose the natural route. 10ml of olive oil a day in a glass of juice or on my dinner, has combatted vaginal dryness. Excellent point about magnesium citrate, also vitamin D is important. You're an ambassador for keeping us fabulous! Thank you xx

Hi Nisha. Great job on the video. So informative. I am one of the unlucky ones who had hellish peri menopause. It was so bad I would spend whole weekends in bed crying and normally im the life and soul of the party. I had to wait 18 months to see a gynae and finally went on HRT and like your experience, it was like magic ! The night sweats wenr within a week, migraines went. That aching all over, the horrendously heavy bleeding. (I was anaemic through it) my energy levels came back and I felt 18 again !. It was nothing short of miraculous. I was on it for 10 years but unfortunately had to come off it when i was about 55. I then used Starflower oil ( 1000mgs a day ) and that was really good at getting rid of the night sweats and mood swings till i was post menopause. Since then i have felt lack lustre most days and have raging insomnia. Hair is thinner, skin drier. Have to fight mood swings. I also have a vulval skin condition due to lack of oestrogen so my advice, DEFINITELY stay on HRT for life ! ! Thanks again for sharing and God bless xx

THANK YOU SO MUCH! This topic isn't discussed very often at all, yet it has a huge impact on the lives of women. If menopause and peri-menopause were discussed as often as make-up and skin care were discussed, the quality of life for women would increase immensely in this third stage of their lives. Education and communication are the two most vital things that will help women to move so much more easily into the 'crone' stage of their lives. These 'crone' years are so valuable because these are the ones where we are finally able to relax and take the time to discover who we really areas people, as opposed to being someone's daughter, wife or mother, but also share with our children, the benefit of the wisdom and serenity that we've gained over the previous stages of lives whilst also giving our grandchildren all the guidance, love, affection and acceptance that aren't so easy to do when one is 'in the thick of it' .... or the trees are just too big and to thick for us to be able to handle all of the day-to-day events that are demanding of our time with the clearest vision that we can when we have learnt to mellow and take the time to guide from a different perspective. These really are the years that we've spent our lives preparing for.

Thank you for raising this topic. I have just turned 48 and have been on a low dose hrt for about a year but my periods stopped around 3 years ago without any prior symptoms. My mood has been very low for a year or so and I feel I have lost interest in the things I used to love to do. I can't find any enthusiasm for anything and my patience is at a minimum which is difficult as I have 5 children, 3 of them are adults but my youngest are 7and 9 so I feel I'm not as patient as I want to be. My hrt has stopped the night sweats and hot flushes but after listening to your story I'm wondering if I need a higher dose or different prescription to help with my mood. I am going to speak to my GP so thanks so much for inspiring me to do that! Your skin looks amazing today!

Hi, I can't tell you how life changing this blog has been for me. Everything you have said is me down to a T. I'm 47, 48 next month. For the last 5 years I've been on antidepressants, which masked the perimenopausal symptoms. I've had all the things you mention - night sweats (awful, having to strip off in the night) fatigue, depression, bad memory (post-it notes every where!) mood swings so I feel like shouting one minute then hugging the next. I used to be a very fit athletical person, in a research job for 14 years. I started having sciatica about 2 years ago - don't know if it's interrelated, but the upshot was that I lost my job! My GP, a lovely bloke, kept me on the anti-Ts, but no matter what I did - counselling, diet, exercise etc, nothing lifted the feeling I was going nuts. I knew about HRT as my mum was put on it at 51, so I did a bit of research I finally went back to the doc's and said 'is this what's happening?'. Saw a nurse practitioner who specialises in these things, and I'm now due to start HRT in July. She was the one who suggested your blog.
One other thing - my periods have become horribly heavy: gone from maybe 6 tampons over 3 days to 20 over 5 days. Nightmare!! So a bit of a drastic step, I'm going to have a Mirena coil fitted. When she suggested it I 'recoiled' in panic, but then she showed it to me and I thought it's just a little plastic thing that I'd rather have up me than 20 tampons a month, not like the older copper wiry things. Any way I'm still reading up on the side effects. Partner doesn't have a clue, I think he's worried it might get attached to his chappie. Much love to all, Lee.

I totally understand. I had a hysterectomy when I was 39 and slammed into menopause early. I still had my ovaries but they puttered out within a few years. I’m 64 now and have gone through the hot flash stage, which lasted only about a year for me, the dryness, my skin drying up, hair loss, my fingernails looking bad and getting thinner and more fragile, heart palpitations, low libido and insomnia. It’s been a real pain. My doctor did not want me on hormones because of the risk of cancer. My bone density is still good though and the rest I have been just living through. Vaginal dryness has been helped by the procedure I started having done last year called Mona Lisa Touch which is laser treatment. Sleep has gotten back to normal after being on Ambien for the past 2 years. Got off that now I sleep great. It’s all a learning curve and I’ve done it without hormones. I do still get mood swings and I have a temper on occasion, but that’s just me. Glad the HRT is helping you. I think I’m passed the need at this point and the expense. I’ve seen all Menopause Barbie’s videos and I agree with some things she says, but not entirely all since my experiences differ slightly. But overall she has good information for early stages of menopause.

Great video! Great information, and I applaud you for being so open and honest about your experience! I am about to turn 62, so I have gone through everything you mentioned and am now post menopausal, but I wish I'd had this information 15 or 20 years ago when my "symptoms" began (gradually, like you said). I did not have my Mom to ask about it because she was already gone by that time. It seemed like nobody wanted to talk about any of it, and I was just told that it was "the change"and there wasn't anything I could do about it. I was also going through a divorce at the time! So, here came the depression with that on top of the mood swings, and everything else! Yeah, it was not a fun time! Anyway, it has gotten much better because I'm learning how to take care of myself now. Again, thank you for opening up this very important discussion so openly & honestly, and for providing such great information!

Same case with me. I am going to be 55 this year and so far my period has been MIA since January (3 months ago). My mother passed away last year due to mestatizised breast cancer and she swore it was due to the HRT since her cancer was hormone receptive and she has been the only case of cancer in her family and the only one who took HRT. I have symptoms but they are manageable. I exercise, eat healthy and keep a healthy weight and this seems to help a lot.

First of all, you look radiant and your hair looks amazing. Love that hairdo on you. I went through a tornado for years and years (I had other hard core medical issues too so perhaps that was the reason) I also had a hysterectomy (partial) at 33 followed by menopause symptoms and again in my mid 40's. I didn't think it would ever end. I will say, we have to go through all of this in part due to insurance companies. More and more insurance companies will no longer pay for bio-identicals (specifically pharmacies that compound them for you) or hormone replacement. But If this was about a man's plumbing, insurance would pay 100% . We women fought for years to get mammograms covered by insurance and now there is talk about covering only one mammogram every 2 years vs annually. We need to speak up ladies and let our voices be heard. Thank you Nisha for sharing this with us.

Its wonderful that menopause is finally something that woman are discussing and sharing their experiences. My only concern with the HRT is the increased risk of breast cancer that is driven by estrogen. My oncologist, who specializes in breast cancer, firmly believes that it can increase your risk of developing breast cancer. Is relief from menopause symptoms worth it?

I have to agree that when it comes to women health there is always some stigma attached to it and certainly menopause is a taboo subject for most people. Your video was very informative and helpful, thank you. I lost my period at age 40 and was put on thyroid pills which I am still on instead of other treatments. I suffered for 3 years with hot flashes, pain in my joints, and I had to take osteoporosis medication because I had lost so much of my bone in my back but I was never put of offered other hormone therapy. I am going to talk to my OB this coming annual. Thank you, my friend, for your voice! Blessings and good health to you.

Hi Nisha......YES!!! I remember that video! I am so happy to hear that you are doing so well on HRT. I understand that it must be a real pain, but if you are getting that much success with it......I would think that it is worth it. When I was in my late 30's both my ovulation cycle and my periods became increasingly painful. After about a year, the pain was so bad, that it make me sick to my stomach. I saw a gynocologist, who diagnosed me with endometriosis . I had a scope done and ended up having one ovarie removed at 39 yes old. Two yrs later the pain became unbearable again, which resulted in a complete hystectomy at 41 yrs of age. At the time, all I could think of is " thank God the pain will be gone....but needless to say, I had no idea what was still to come. The very next day after my surgery, I was thrown into COMPLETE MENOPAUSE . I was working at the time.....could not sleep, never knew when I would be among my co-workers and have a major driving hot flash that actually required a clothing change. I tried HRT way back then (it's now 2o yrs later), however I had horrific side affects from the HRT , so I just decided that I had to grin and bear it. I do exercise regularly, and touch wood....at 63 now......I have very few hot flashes or night sweats any more, however.....I DON'T SLEEP mor e than 2 hrs at a time. My Dr has told me not to lay there getting frustrated......remove myself from the bed.....walk around a bit, and when I feel tired, go back to bed and try again. I have found that taking big breathes in and letting it out slowly continuously, can put me to sleep.....the only issue is staying there. Thank the lord that I was able to retire at 55, so dealing with very little sleep and having to get up for work everyday, is no longer a big issue for me. Thanks SO much for your wonderful video. I have bookmarked it as a. Favourite, as my two daughters are in their early 49's and I hope some day to share your video with them, idpf they start having your time of issues. Very informative Nisha....thank you. 💕

This trend is happening in North America, too. The 2002 Women's Health Initiative (WHI) Study meant that women were taken off, and not put on, any HRT or BHRT supplementation. My husband is a psychiatrist and it makes me frustrated and angry to hear that women are being given so many other drugs (antidepressants, anti anxiety, sleeping pills etc), to cope with menopause and perimenopause. I really love Menopause Taylor and also Dr. Marina Johnson's book/e-book called "Outliving your Ovaries". She is an MD who is an Endocrinologist and also a Pharmacist.

I can’t tell you how much this resonates with me. I had sooooo many of the same symptoms...And I thought I was going crazy. I couldn’t understand why all these things were happening to me.
Sleep issues. Depression. anxiety. Hormonal acne. After my blood work was done mine was only the testosterone that was out of balance and by that I mean NONE. 😮 I do the pellets and they last anywhere from 4-5 months. I cannot tell you the difference it has made in my life. I FEEL better. Just the energy level. The anxiety the depression. is gone. I can SLEEP again.

Hi Nisha. Thank you so very much for your honest and very descriptive chat. Everything makes sense to me now and I've struggled for 35 years. I went into perimenopause after the birth of my son at the age of 32. I got so little help until my periods stopped at the age of 41. Then they put me on HRT patches but stopped them when I was 50, saying that I'd been on them too long. The illnesses I have then kicked in very quickly, amongst others, underactive thyroid, pernicious anaemia and hair loss. Now, at the age of 66, I have no hair, suffer from many illnesses including Osteoporosis and feel just about finished!! I still put my make up and wig on every day and I do my best to look my best. I believe it's time that more Doctors take this much more seriously because for some of us it is nothing short of devastating. xx

I like your hairstyle. Menopause Barbie/Taylor is a wealth of information. When I was going through perimenopause, I couldn't sleep either. I was told not to force sleep because of anxiety issues. I was told to just do something as long as I was awake. I did go through a period of depression as well. I suffered from heart palpitations and anxiety.I did not have night sweats. My skin became dry during that time and remains dry to this day. I am post menopausal. I take a baby aspirin for my heart. I don't have heart disease but my cardiologist said it was a good idea. Heart disease is the number one killer of women. I do take a multivitamin and calcium. This is an important conversation. Thank you for making this video.

Lynn Amidon I am same as you I am post menopausal now age nearly 59,I kept saying to doctors early 40s I was starting,I got tested 46 and I was full on in it,lowest patch and it was brilliant,I've had loads of health problems and cyst on ovary and hydrosalpinx on fallopian tube ,so they took me off hrt patch few years ago,now it's not vaginal dryness its vaginal athrophy, I had 2 mri scans and ultra sounds and that's when they said the shrinkage was bad, they gave me hormone cream and pesseries and I was to scared to use them, after listening to this hair loss and shrinkage and been miserable,my husband and I were very active but when I became ill and had bad health scares and ovarian cancer scare I didn't want to take hormones ,so bedroom is nothing now as it's way past dryness its shrinkage causing problems,so I just can't have bedroom relationship with my hubby,if anyone reads this and can help as I say I'm nearly 59 post menopausal and it's awful, when they took me off patches it was like my life stopped,I know people who had hrt in 60s and 70s,because I didn't have cancer gynaecologist discharged me,yet I had been getting blood tests every 4 to 5 months for signs of cancer, and the last gynaecologist I saw wasn't helpful as she said they'd have to test everyone why should I get blood test, but I had cancer scare .ca 125 test got I've forgotten,if anyone can help loved to hear, thanks xxx

Thank you so much for this video and your honesty. I've been on HRT for a number of years (I'm 57) and I feel so much better after suffering terrible menopause symptoms. So many doctors in the US won't prescribe it because of the study that showed an increase in breast cancer and heart problems, but my doctor says the study was flawed and that we need to consider quality of life.

Thanks for sharing this information. I am sure that there are women out there that are suffering like you were, but still having a period therefore doctors don't give medication for these symptoms. Good information. Although in the 90's there was a study in the medical journal that "showed" an increase in heart attacks so they did pull women off HRT. Then I found out that that study was not really true. But in the 80's HRT was believed to be good for your heart..I choose to take HRT as long as my dr gives me a Rx for them...I love them...I know what a difference they have made for me...much love....xoxo

I recently found your channel & I love it. You're so enjoyable to watch & I enjoy your topics. I know this is an older video - but I agree wholeheartedly with you. I had actually kind of already breezed through menopause - but then realized I should use bhrt to protect my brain, my bones, my heart & my well-being & longevity & that supplementing with hormones was a way of biohacking my health. I'm glad I did & plan to stay on it. Btw, they're finding that progesterone is good for women even if you don't have a uterus. It is a "an emotional feel good hormone" & it helps with sleep too. Raising my Estradiol to balance more with my testosterone brought my libido up & I use infections for both.

Thank you very much for this video. It really helps women to understand this process. The symptoms you, ve gone through are exactly the same as mine. In my case I didn,t take HRT with a different result that may be could be of help.
I started suffering severe anxiety at age 45. It was sudden and went to de doctor. He sent me to the psychiatrist and I tried to explain that it wasn,t anything in my way of thinking or even my brain.....it was in my body. They wouldn,t listen to me. Went to the gynecologist and asked for a blood test on hormones. She said, no way. I insisted and had the test made. Surprisengly estrogens were really high, so she said NO perimenopause. From that moment on, my periods which were at that time really heavy, turned erratic and for two years I started skipping them, first two months, then three, finally six....until I had the last one at age 47.Never smoked in my entire life, healthy habits.....but.....it happened.
I started to feel much much better. After this transition i feel my body get used and it is better....indeed I have no symptoms but for skin dryness. I feel so well that I don,t dare to ask for hormones prescription not to break the spell...but at the same time feel insecure when I watch Menopause Taylor, for example. I started doing exercise on a regular basis, gym, weight lifting and didn,t get on weight. I also gave up sugar.
That,s my experience (sorry if there,s any spelling mistake as I am not a native speaker of English)

My hair started thinning, and I had weight gain in my lower abdomen. Then after a year the hot flashes started along with missed periods and abnormal bleeding. I would have hot flashes all throughout the day and night sweat at night. It was absolutely awful. I knew I was in perimenopause and finally convinced my OBgyn to put me on HRT. I feel so much better now and have no hot flashes! My hair is thicker now and my skin not as dry. My moods are better too! I hardly ever bleed now except for some breakthrough bleeding occasionally on the HRT. But my periods are mainly gone. The weight gain is the hardest to manage.

I am taking evening primrose and that helps a lot.We all go through it differently. All my sisters have gone through it different from each other, and different from our mother( she passed in 1994 at the age of 68). You have to take care of You and do what helps You. Hi Nisha I am 50. I started HRT when I was 47. For me menopause was like a forbidden topic in my circle. Women just acted like it was not something to talk about. Also a topic people made jokes about that I did not appreciate at the time. I had nobody to talk to when I went through Menopause my situation was a bit different. I had a partial hysterectomy and I still have my ovaries but no period. So I couldn't tell where I was at in terms of periods. I went in doctors and I found out I was pretty into full menopause. I have had HRT for three years now. It was a life changer let me just say that!! My hair had fallen out in patches out, hot flashes and sweats beyond words,UTI, no sleeps and I withdrew from life. Thank heavens we live in this day and age we can have options. I am so thankful for the option of HRT I chose. My hair grew back, I sleep all night. I am off the antidepressants. Thank you for your video. I appreciate what you had to say more than I can say here. We all have a story about this because each person is different. Thank you Nisha for sharing your story. So many women dont have anyone to talk to about this! xoxo Love you! Becki

I had 30 years ago at the age of 28 a total hysterectomy and I went true the change, no doctor gave me estrogen and no doctor told me what would happen to my body, like loss of hair, the sweats, mood changes, etc. All I got was"you so lucky no more periods"!! I have severe osteoporosis, I broke so many bones including my back, also I had a heart attack. I still get symptoms at times and it drives me crazy. Thanks' for talking about it and educating woman. xox

Hi Nisha. Enjoyed your chat about peri/menopause. I am beyond the big “M,” but just wanted to relay some information. I opted for a synthetic HRT. It took me over two years to find a gynecologist to treat me. Anyway, I was treated with Estrogen made from a wild Mexican yam. It sure was a lifesaver. I had my pills made at a compounding pharmacy. Anyway, it seemed to take care of everything but I had a side effect from the medicine after about three years of taking it. I got some cysts on my breasts and also in my chest. I had them tested, and they were fibroids, had a couple of little surgeries and had them removed. I knew of the side effects, but was willing to go forward. I took this estrogen for a couple more years. I had a heart attack ad bypass surgery. My cardiologist said no more estrogen, in any form. Well, I did not mean to rattle on, but just thought I would share with you. Stay lovely and never change.

Thank you Nisha for sharing all this about the menopause symptoms - so many of my friends & doctors don't know much about them - I've been suffering with all the ones you mentioned..... the rollercoaster of emotions have probably been the worst.... I appreciate your video so much!

Fantastic video hun!! I take anti-d's and HRT as I suffer with very low mood etc, and I couldn't do without it now! I certainly wouldn't relish the faff on you have with all your lotions, potions, pills and stuff - oh god I'd be round the twist and would probably forget to do it - another symptom aye - by boys thought I had early dementia, cheeky buggers!! My moods were awful and I've had to recently get my anti-d dosage upped. Isn't it such a shame that you've had to go and pay privately to get the help you need and deserve. I agree some GP's are so rubbish and want you out the door before you've told them anything. So glad us women are fighting this together, look at mental health, it's in the public eye so much more now a days and so should this, my mum called it "The Change" - well it's about time it "Changed" for the better for us girlies!! Take care lovely xoJoanxo

I have been on HRT since I was 55, I was still having periods which stopped as soon as I started taking it...thank god! My symptoms were; foggy brain, panic attacks, terrible heart palpitations, so bad I went to see a cardiologist who tested me and reassured me that I was not in fact dying. Also, considering I have always had a very happy disposition, I developed a powerful feeling of impending doom. I did not suffer hot flushes, or night sweats, but always felt too hot, without sweating. My mother is still taking HRT and is amazingly healthy at 88years old. I am now 61 and if anyone tries to take me off it, all I can say is WILD HORSES will not get me off it. It is fantastic! The health benefits are staggering and I plan to be on it until my last breath!

What a great video! Thank you for sharing your insights on the topic, it was very helpful. I am in the middle of trying to get answers for myself, on my 3rd doctor, your rights you absolutely have to find whats right for you, it can be so overwhelming at a time when you don't feel like dealing with it. I think I've been it in for a few years but everyone kept telling me not to worry your just stressed and have too much on your mind. People always talk about hot flashes, but its so much more than that ... thanks again!

This is the wake up I needed not for me but my wifey Lisa , she is going through so many of the symptoms you described. I had ovarian cancer 11 years ago and had a full hysterectomy so apart from weight gain in all the wrong places 🙂 I'm ok . But I will be showing Lisa this later today .
Thanks for being so open and honest. Take care 😉

Nisha, thank you for the update! It’s really strange how some women become very uncomfortable discussing this topic, especially hormones. I will be 49 in July and my peri journey has been hellish! Pretty much everything you experienced I did also. I’ve been on estradiol for 8 months now. I’ve seen improvements in skin, dryness, nails, hair, calmness .. still periodically having insomnia & feeling depressed and sometimes very fatigued. Overall I’m glad I started the estradiol!

It's interesting, I went to a "specialist" (at 45 last year) and she didn't take me seriously at all. Not all women have hot flashes. I know women that didn't. My mother didn't. My aunt didn't. Other women I know didn't. This so called specialist said basically I was too young to be going through perimenopause. All women under 50 who experience perimenopause have thyroid problems (she said). I know women who had no thyroid problems and they still went through menopause way before 50. She also said that my FSH levels cannot be within a normal range if I was going through menopause. All lies!!!!! I was so super annoyed with this women that did not take me seriously at all. She just suggested progesterone pills or cream, very low level. I bought the super expensive cream and I'm not sure it's doing anything. Also I talked to my Gynecologist and she actually told me that you can have normal range FSH levels and actually be going through perimenopause.
