You can't "max a credit card" there's a limit of a few hundred dollars no matter which country you are in, and it's not like children are going to have money in the first place, they can't have a bank account. Since you know what you get for the money you spend on whatever item, regardless of the cost. EU seems to be cracking down on loot boxes far more than any other region and if I were valve, I'd be very worried considering most of the CS playerbase is in EU. Hopefully this long silence regarding content from valve is because they are looking for a way to get rid of loot boxes from CS while still preserving the existing market. Most games have already moved on from loot boxes and began charging flat rates for cosmetics. Hopefully valve follows suit.
Loot boxes are not gamba, every item you get is worth 2.35€ (key price). Valve does not enable players to sell skins and withdraw funds to their bank account. (steam balance is not money, it's site tokens used to redeem games).

Drop rates for rare skins are extremely low too and are not even near reasonable. You shouldn't have to spend 1000$ to get a 200$ knife in a video game. Yes it should be rare but balance should be there too if you are going to introduce gambling mechanics. Either way action will be taken and this lootboox phenomenon will require full gambling licensing in most jurisdictions sooner or later.

tbh i quit cs like 2 months ago (this time really quit) and realize how much i really spend on skins just by looking at my bank account i never had anything special anyway but i quit cs and i started to play airsoft in my region and all that money i had in cs skins i withdraw and i have like 2 quality good m4, good ghillie, cheast rig, military grade plate carrier with replicas of balistic plates and radio with earmore m32 headset for cummunication with my friends and that made me count how much money i have actually spend on some stupid cases and skins and tbh... just from 2023 i could have 3x the same gear i mention above and get new gpu and cpu for my pc to play tarkov with high performance and best graphic so think for yourself but cs skins are big waste of money (i tried to convice myself that i can always get this money back when i sell them but its bullshit you mostly lose money on that "investments" and shit) good that they actually try to ban those cases now days this game is trash anyway
