      Ya it’s a personal preference. For some it’s mental and for others getting a dynamic start vs a static start can help with their accumulated speed but sometimes at the sacrifice of takeoff board accuracy.

    Nice video. I do, however, have a little pushback on your statement "there is no best flight technique." I think history has shown that the best jumps have come from hitchkick jumpers. But aside from that, the hitchkick is the most natural of all those techniques because people naturally rotate their arms and legs when they are in freefall.
    But again, thank you for the time and energy you put into this because we have far too many developmental coaches who preach "just run and jump" and its hurting our event and our athletes.

    • @JumpersJunction
      @JumpersJunction  Рік тому +3

      Adriel, I really appreciate your comment! Soo true about the “just run and jump” lol.
      As far as the “best flight technique” - you’re spot on about the hitch-kick and maybe I should of worded it slight different. But I didn’t want to go that route in the video because I work with alot of younger athletes and some are just predispositioned to certain techniques and until they reach a certain level of competence and skill, I don’t want them to all go out and try to learn the hitch kick until they have some of the fundamentals down.
      Thank you for watching and I appreciate the pushback!

    • @JumpersJunction
      @JumpersJunction  Рік тому +2

      Feel free to pushback on that too though because that’s just my opinion based on my experience but it’s definitely not the right way….it’s just my way. That’s what’s cool about being a athlete turned coach is “my way” is based on my experience right, things I’ve done and things I’ve learned and been taught, but there are alot of ways and it’s really awesome when we can come together and chat about it!

    I know that you said that it doesn't matter about which form you use, but does it matter on how you do that form? Like, are there specific steps you have to go through in the air or can you just wing it?

    • @JumpersJunction
      @JumpersJunction  2 місяці тому

      Yes there are specific steps on how to do each.

    • @JumpersJunction
      @JumpersJunction  3 місяці тому +1

      Hey man! Ya it has actually. The “Bridging” concept on the penultimate step was a really good way to communicate how it should be performed and I always used 100words to illustrate it whereas that was just so clear that it simplified things tremendously.
      Also, I got to really soak in that there are so many coaches out there that know way more than me and really got me pumped up to see how much more I still have to learn. Il be going for LVL 3 for sure and prob USTFCCCA jumps certification also.
      How about you?

      While high can provide an advantage as your center of mass will be elevated at takeoff, that does not mean that there is a limit. Robert Emmiyan wasn’t super tall but jumped over 29 ft.
