Let's show the field events some love and OBLITERATE the like button!! There are only four more events left in this year's Nick Symmonds Track Classic (1K, Shot Put, Mile, 5k) which ones are you going to come participate in??
Who else wants to see some throwing events for fun
No Javelin?
Shot
I would love to go there but I’m on the other side of the country, I’ll throw shot this Wednesday though for a meet and I’ll be running the mile
What about the marathon
yall don't realize how good of a jump 15' is for an 11 year old girl, like that is incredible
Why
it actually is, I was incredibly surprised
Legit, Olympic potential in this kid.
@@schwarz2044 Because the junior national bantam record for 10 year old is 4.67 or 15' 4'' and she jumped 4.61. For 12 year olds, the record is 5.52. The 11 year olds jump with the 12 year olds. With a little more speed on a better track, she looks over 5 meters.
And she can do this with a sloppy running form. She has a lot of room to improve her technique, and she's easily jumping much further.
That 11 year old is really impressive in the long jump. She has a bright future.
Yes for sure
yeah😁she does tho i mean who dosn't think of that
She would be no.1 ranked in the UK for 11-year old girls this year (best is currently 4.50m)! I jumped 5.03m as a 12 year old boy, then 6.88m as a senior.
She has a really, really fast foot on the takeoff. It might go unnoticed to an amateur eye, but I've analyzed tens of long jump athletes and this is actually THE secret of transfering runway speed to flight speed (most athletes lose speed after takeoff because of slow foot acting like brake).
I also analyzed this frame-by-frame and she's 1 or 2 frames faster than Lee. This is easily national level of fast-twitch muscle fiber density, something you cannot train, you have to be born with it.
Now add training and dedication and she might be a world champion one day.
Yo
Lee is 48! That jump is an inspiration! Amazing
Dude is in immense shape for a 48 year old. He jumps the length of a freakin' quad cab F350 pick up truck.
@@josephsummers2427 That's an oddly specific measurement.
@@Tibovl americans measure with everything except metric what can ya say
Dude literally flew awesome af
Lee is out of this world, freak of nature 🤯🤯💪🏻
pretty sure he was holding back too, so he didn't hurt himself by jumping over the pit XD
@@oldfrend Straight beast he could fly on god
Just wonder how good he maybe in his 20s
@@rajan7713 Yeah when he would be physically more fit for the long jump plus the technique dialled in from frequent practice. Jumping over the pit for sure
Ja Moin! Der Kapitän ist also nach Amerika gesegelt 👌🏻
Yo forreal, Charis is going to be a SUPERSTAR in track one day. That girl is incredible.
she doesnt even look like the athletic type and then just explodes off the ground. some people are just blessed with those strong fast twitch muscles.
@@oldfrend ikr
Nah gr
I knew when Lee showed up it was game over after he said he jumped in college
At a PAC-12 School no less
he should of kept the money smh
I knew when a black guy showed up it was game over. No need to look at the rest of the video 😂. Class act by him on paying it forward.
I think Charis at 11 would place top 3 at an average high school with that jump 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Yes
Definetly the best senior girls are hovering around 5m
I was amazed when I saw that jump
yeah that was insane
Bro at my high school we all get 15+
Lee was so good also he’s so kind so happy to see how nice people are also good job to all the females that showed up they all did great!
Omg Lee’s form is insane
Literally perfect
But he def holding back. He not even trying with the run then when his foot touches the board he explodes suddenly.
I judged him from the run-up thinking it was going to be garbage. He proved me wrong by jumping further than I ever will in my life while only jogging.
@@track-lash3337 yeah he doesn’t wanna clear the whole pit cuz then he’s gonna get hurt lol
Ikr like WHAT 6.15m at 48 years old like wow
1. That was a great jump by Charis. Super impressive for her age.
2. I feel like I was blessed by long jumping greatness here! It was an honor to watch Lee jump!
Charis would've had the boys long jump record at my middle school, that girl is a beast!
She might even be at the end of 5th grade she has talent
She is close to world record material for her age. What's the record for 11 yr old born females? Like 5.0 meters?
@@josephsummers2427 i can't find records for age groups that young, but for Youth Olympic Games (ages 15 to 18) girls have a LJ record of 6.40.
That is a really low MS boys record
@@Cain35 Fr lmao
Josiah is my nephew!!! Atta boy Josiah!! Love you buddy! Uncle Ken. Lee was insane! Nice jump Lee
My name is Josiah and my uncle name is ken or Kenny
@@shafrayapendarvis8178 pretty sure its shafraya
@@cja_824 lmfao
@@shafrayapendarvis8178 maybe check your birth certificate
If Lee's 48 and is jumping half a foot over 6, I can't imagine what he would have been able to jump when he was in college.
26ft and some change is what he said ✈
@@cptTom shit that's crazy.
@@cptTom Are you the Tom of the video?
Под 8 метров прыгал
According to the Berkeley website he still has the 3rd best all time outdoor record for Long Jump at 26'0.75" (7.94m) set in '94
Charis needs to keep at the long jump. Quite the talent!
1:11 "fifteen feet might win it"
*guy in background jumps nineteen feet*
AMAZING PERFORMANCES!!
Bruh you really like this vids
Could we see you in the shot put?😄
Hey, I love your world record over dude perfect. Nice!!!!😎😎😎😎
Yo
Lee still has eligibilty so couldn't take the money 😜
1:17 Guy Behind got exited when Nick mentioned price money
I didn’t think anyone else would notice
Lee - what a hero. And Charis is frickin' amazing. Seeing her oversized trainers, I thought she would never take off. Those things looked like cruise ships on her feet. Then she flicked the "zero gravity" boosters and flew. I really hope she gets to train with a serious coach.
Anyone else get a good laugh at 1:20 when dude full sends it in the background?😂
Lee's carrying a lot of muscle memory!
Anybody remember when the run up was on a cinder track and the board was a real board?
Not sure what a cinder track is but at my school there was a wooden board inlaid into the ground before the sand pit
@@Jess-sb2nj a cinder track is an old school track that’s made from cinders. They still use it for many horse races
Lee is an amazing guy.
Lee is going to need a Pilots license next time he tries long jump. Or else he might get charged. Check to make sure the air space is clear before hand.
Lee Adkins the real deal. personal best 26 ft and 3/4 in in 1994. 3rd best all time outdoors for cal.
He contacted the FAA before his jump to clear the airspace
Dang that 11 year old girl had an amazing jump! Around 15 feet! Girls at my high school can’t even get that. She’s got a bright future if she continues in track. C:
As a long jumper I love to see this involved in the nick symmonds classic!
Spoiler: Nick breaks the world record...
For most free Run Gum headbands given out.
Bruhhh 😂😂
Believe it it or not, Charis' knees rotating in like that is probably where she gets her power from. There are some high level elastic jumpers that get their jumping ability from the same torque produced when the femur goes from internal to external rotation like that.
Mmm
Notification pops up
Me: immediately clicks it
Thank you for turning Notifications on!!
What an incredible athlete Lee is at 48
Best thing to see before my soccer game
i hope you won !
I just played for states in soccer, came 3rd
BRUH WHAT IM LITTERALLY WATCHING THIS VIDEO ON THE CAR RIDE TO A SOCCER GAME
I love these vids.
I appreciate they are promotional but very wholesome at the same time!
The world needs more good stuff in it like this!
Nice one nick 👍
Nick, Thank you for "Paying it Forward" for so long. I love the way a world class athlete can bring track to the masses. If more pro track athletes would do something similar, Track and Field would grow in this country. I am a former collegiate 880yd/800m runner myself but I have competed in almost every distance and field event in one meet or another. I love the variety of events you have sponsored. Keep up the GREAT work.
Pure class by Lee giving his prize to the youngest competitior.
Just discovered your channel Nick. I enjoy athletics and your energy is so positive and uplifting to listen to. Subscribed. Took break from binging your videos to say that. Wish you tremendous success with your channel. In this crazy world we need your positive vibes. Godspeed.
This was such a fun event! Loved meeting all the people who participated. Nick, you rock for putting these events together!
I love these events! Keep it up!
I have worked on my long jump since I was 6 years old I’m now 14 and jump 5.8 meters being 4th in Sweden at my age and I’m telling y’all I have seen ALOT of jumps but I have never seen a 11 year old girl jump that long. Amazing stuff!
Nick is really the GOAT! These weekly videos keep me going~
Emma and her mom is my favorite for this competition :)
Just wanted to say that Sometimes your journey starts with pushing the limits physically.
Y’all got a fire inside keep getting after it!

You don’t realize how excited I was for this video nick and also I would love to see high jump I love your videos thanks for inspiring young runners like myself
Keep these types of videos coming, love seeing the talented ppl, n those who did athletics in the past
FINALLY I've been so excited waiting to watch this 🔥😆
I love your videos nick! this was awesome :)
That 11 year old girl was fantastic, big up!!
I remember when I competed 12 years ago and did 7.41 meters as a 16-year-old in the Decathlon, I specialized in long jump and 110 meter hurdles.
Feeling sad not doing this anymore, way too injured and had too much beer lately haha...
Nick bringing the joy back into sports. Keep up the fun inspirational videos please
4.60m+ is pretty legit for an 11yo girl. She could beat the boys with that. And 6.15m is definitely impressive for a 48yo male. Plus looks like he could go further.
Yeah he definitely wasn’t trying didn’t want to jump out the pit and hurt himself
@@sed1589 apparently he hold the 3rd best jump for outdoor long jump
@@sakshamsinghal5418 He's held a record since 94 according to some other comment, where he jumped just shy of 8 metres
@@otterpower5342 I’m not sure I read some comment that said he jumped the 3rd best all time outdoor jump
Lee and Tom are both absolute beasts man! Nick as well I love these events.
In German Highschool you can choose to do your A-levels (Abitur) in sports; some track and field events are mandatory.
The official length to get the best score in long jump (I guess that’s an A in the US) is 5.85 meters (that’s 19.19 feet). And I think that’s ridiculously hard to achieve!
Interesting. Yeah, that is tough. Do you know the mile or 800 time for top score? Just curious.
Unfortunately you can only choose from 100 or 200 when it comes to short distance sprinting. The times there are 11.9 (100m) and 24.4 (200m).
For longer distances we only get testet in the Cooper-Test (12 minutes - max distance) to get the best grade you have to reach 3175 meters. Which translates to an average pace of 6 minutes per mile.
11.9 for girls is really hard
Lee's jump made me to look into our national track and field masters tables for 2020. In my country (Czechia), he would have been a champion in the 45+ category.
It looks like he actually won the 45+ World Championship in 2019

Charis is gonna be a state champ one day 15ft+ jump at 11 is absolutely insane
Everyone came strong. Lee is 48 and just amazing. Such a kind man too. Good job, Nick.
Loved this one Nic. Was so interesting. Don't stop the long jumps hahha
Can you add High Jump to your field events series please😁 I love your videos!❤️
My name is Charis. I have never meant another Charis. But boy does it make me happy that people are learning to pronounce it. The amount of “Charlie’s” and “Chris” i get is insane.
hahah right! i have a friend named charis and people come up with all sorts of names. chris and charlie are common like you mentioned. sadly, she's even got "chair" before loll
Hello Nick!! i really love your videos pls keep on posting your amazing content love from the Philippines 🇵🇭❤️
I like that act of kindness in the end❤
Nick did better than I thought he would!
Lee looks like a really good guy, hope we will show up at some more events! New crowd favorite?
Love your video, awesome.
Excellent jumping, long jump from Charis.
Massive improvement by her in 2nd jump. 4.41, to 4.62.
Great Vid! would love to see a swim event, excited for the rest of the track classic
Go Charis! That was a crazy jump!
Nick I am the only sixth grader in my school doing long jump in a tri. Lots of love from Ohio!
Love it! I've always wanted to try the triple jump, maybe next year!!
@@nicksymmonds you should try I might try to convince my parents to travel out next year

I feel like Arthur would have had a much better jump if he did a longer run up
I was hoping the same. We didn’t get a whole lot of warm up jumps and when when it was my time to go I want to go from a spot that I knew I could take off from so I chose a 7 step. I was definitely a little bummed about not making the finals but hopefully I’ll have some redemption when it comes shot put time.

@@dgsjrext282 thats in another week, tomorrow is the 1k
@@arthurkatahdin9502 Ik I just realized that lol but good job with the 100
@@arthurkatahdin9502 With your speed you should be able to jump at least 6.50m I totally get your logic but a great take-off can never compensate lack of speed. Speed is key in long jump. Best of luck in the other events!
No one is talking about Tom, he is a beast!
Seriously GREAT content.
Just found this channel the other day and it's awesome!
I wish I could come down from Canada to do these events! Maybe one day!
Yay! It’s ganna be amazing!
Love your channel, always waits for yor your videos.
Thanks nick again for a great video! So fantastic to watch people all ages here jumping and running. These videos give me great motivation for trying to lose some weight , keep it up :) and hmm i'm 40 years old and weigh in at 97 kg, but finally an event where i could win nick :)
Lee would have jump across oceans in his prime days.
What an incredible form..
Lee doesn’t need wings to fly. Phenomenal performance; I think he was holding back too so he didn’t get hit by the end of the pit.
This was a fun one! Hats off to Lee for paying it forward 👏
The three that blew me away the most. 1))) Charis (12:34 - 11 yr old girl). I didn't actually know pre-teens, especially girls, can long jump 4.62m. If you asked me before this video, I would have said that is probably the world record for 9-13 yr old girls. 2))) Tom (15:24 - 50 yr old man). That is a jacked older dude that can jump. I didnt expect it from his age and he's gotta be like 215 lbs. 3))) Lee (15:51 - 48 yr old man). Well - I mean, no words needed. He should technically have a pilots license next time he long jumps. He flies too far for too long.
I LIKE HOW NICK IS A 🐐
Lee is a legend!
Amazing content here, loved Lee's jumps
A new UA-cam Marathon to watch. Subscribed!
The 40 year old's are insane
You should do a swim race at some point! (Maybe next year's Nick Symmonds Classic). I think it'd be pretty cool to include it
But it’s not track so I doubt it
maybe not for the track classic but for other type of video, that would be nice
Well did you see the steeplechase video?
Hell ya I was waiting for this
Love these. Nick your are amazing. The girls killed it . Lee is a good dude giving up his prize . Well done to all jumpers
There's no shot Lee is 48 years old.. amazing
He's just as capable at long jump as the 800 lol
Your work is amazing bro....best of luck
Nick is so positive. That is why I like your channel.
You should have moved the go pro back another 2 meters (off the landing) for lee...
What is Lee’s last name?? I want to see that mans footage! He musta been a beast in college
