I appreciate you guys trying to have a balanced view and not just murder the manager and higher management with a rant and break down points of issues, crap time but 🤞🏻 things can only get better

I think that Fonseca needs a few more games to implement his style. I hate that in nowadays football we dont give coaches time to work. Let him play the first 10 games in peace and see where it goes.
And as always great podcast, keep it up!

That's what they said about Pioli.. he uses the same strategy or even worse.. how do you expect him to get better results. It ain't gonna happen. The only solution is 442 or 433

im more keen on 343. the coach this time has experience w it, pavlovic and tomori could do their step up runs into midfield as wing cb's (which they both have tendency to do), theo can stay further up and we'd have davide and royal further away from our goal

Hey Oli, regarding the unwanted players, why didn't the board speak to them directly after the end of the season? Like Bennacer, why did they take him to the United States, instead of telling him he was out of the project and had to look for a new team. The way they treated him before the end of the transfer window was dirty and unacceptable. Roma, who can't play in the Champions League, have decent new signings. Milan couldn't sign a decent striker or left-back. A failed coach, three games and no need for a fourth one to tell you he a tactical donky . The question is: is Gerry ready to risk the Italian league and the Champions League?

Two things to say here. Bennacer was in the same boat as Saelemaekers, Pobega and Adli. That was clear from the start, even Pobega and Adli. They all were still included in the pre-season team. I believe the management wanted the other clubs to see how good these players are and also not give the impression that they are desperate to get rid of them. I don't think any of this is wrong, if they were left in Italy, I highly doubt anyone would have even taken them on loan.
Considering all of this, Bennacer wasn't treated badly, he isn't reliable for the past two seasons because of injuries. I am sure he knows this, the management knows this and the rest of Europe knows this. It makes sense for the management putting him in the window for other teams to watch and see. He came off the bench and did well, but again his injury record is a problem for everyone. None of the forementioned players were certain about their continuation with the club. So no, I don't think he was poorly treated.
The management should be blamed for three things, they brought in a questionable manager, they also brought in a striker who is 30 and they never put in a serious financial effort in getting back-ups for certain positions, specifically full backs.
This will bite them in the behind. I was hoping Fonseca would prove me wrong but he now has 3 more games to save his job. The striker problem isn't a big one just yet but the issue of not having trustworthy back-ups for the full backs is now a serious problem.
The management have done some really good things for this team. So I am not someone who advocates for fans to hate the management. They got the team away from being broke every season, they expanded the financial resources the club generates, they got the futuro squad up and running which in turns improves the quality of Italian players that can possible play for the first team.
They have done a lot of good and still are doing good things. The stadium is a serious project that is in the pipeline and who knows what is possible when it is done. I trust the management because of these good things, but I think they aren't as good as having an owner who is willing to throw their own money at solving these problems the club has on the pitch.

I agree with the above however I don't belive the new stadium will actually happen 1b+ is to much to go via borrowing so iam sad to say San siro looks the most viable option. A shame as heard legoland will was part of the new stadium project .......my x2 boys would of loved that!

It was another badly run mercato because we were late once again. Not signing Mats Hummels after losing all the leaders is idiotic and Pavlovic could have true mentor for a year. Instead we rely on erratic Tomori that should've been sold at first oppurtunity in PL just like we should communicate to Ben in preaseson that he should leave.

I got banned on the discord like 2 years ago because i sarcasticly celebrated a goal by CDK that didnt Happen, because He bottled the shot. Is there a possibiloty for me to get unbanned by any Chance?

We don’t have a number 10 and we didn’t sign one during the transfer window. So why is Fonseca insisting on playing a formation that requires a number 10 instead of playing a 433 formation which is better suited for the players we have.
This has to be the dumbest thing I’ve seen in all my life as a fan. These coaches have all the tools and staff available to them to help them determine what would work best for the players they have in the team but for some strange reason they are instead putting square pegs in round holes even when it’s not working. What are they seeing that we aren’t seeing?

You said mentioned in another comment previously about Maldini signing CDK was a huge mistake, there’s our #10 that you’re screaming for, had a sterling season last season winning UEL and producing in Serie A… you can’t blame Maldini for signing CDK as a mistake in the one hand then say we lack quality #10 - we had it

@@MarcCostabile understand this my friend, playing for Atalanta is not the same as playing for Milan. Ok? So it’s not easy to play for a big club. CDK was a massive failure at Milan. You don’t spend 35m on a player who is playing in a Belgian league which is one of the weakest league in Europe. That money should have been spent on Enzo Fernandez or Amrabat to replace Kessie. Dybala was a free agent and yet Maldini decided to sign an unproven player from a weak league to bet on CDK over Dybala? That’s madness.

    • @MarcCostabile
      @MarcCostabile Місяць тому

@@ziontrain7887 Atalanta have been consistently fighting (and leapfrogging) Milan for CL football for the last 7 years. They are smaller but the blame for CDK lies with Pioli and not the player/Maldini. He is clearly talented being called up to the Belgian national team and also making a significant impact in Europe. Maldini had a strong wages structure keeping the stars of the team while not overblowing salaries (avoiding the huge mistakes from mirabelli and fassone with Donnarumma for example). Theo Leão Mike (key assets) all renewed on modest wages - Dybala would have disrupted that.
I agree the Kessie replacement was not addressed in time but overall as director Maldini was a success there is little to dispute in that regard.
Before the 2022/2023 season started we were all happy with the CDK signing and the Origi signing - the latter being a CL winner (and clutch goal scorer). It’s not on the director to be blamed when the signing doesn’t work out. His CV on paper was decent before he performed poorly for us. Again up to the manager (Pioli) to get the best from him. On paper both were great signings and tidy business

@@MarcCostabile great signings? LMAO. Atalanta only finished above Milan one time and they have never won a serie league title. But it’s not worth wasting my time debating about CDK and Origi because you think they are great signings. That’s the craziest thing I’ve ever heard . Smh

@@ziontrain7887 Origi is a CL winner and scorer of countless clutch goals (including CL final). He was also a freebie. On paper it’s a great signing. There’s not much to argue. Of course looking back it was a bad signing cos he didn’t perform but at the time it was a very smart bit of business
