I work at a Dollar General, and you would be amazed how stupid people get when it comes to stealing. Our self checkout not only has a camera, but it also has a screen that points back at the customer, showing exactly what the camera sees. But we still get people who think they're slick scanning a candy bar in place of every other item, or just not scanning them at all, then fixing their hair in the camera before walking off

One thing that annoyed me when i used to work in retail is when someone would find an item that another customer left lying around randomly and try to argue that where it was left should be the price.
This is actually real, they put in the description if it's fake, they don't call cops because it's a waste of resources, rather put it on the internet and make back the money from the product they stole. Love this channel

Guy definitely was an addict probably going through the withdrawls soon. You crave sugary sweets. Some of them are pros at boosting. They know which places to go and who to avoid; as in if their store security catches them or spooks them, they may not stay or even steal from them. You all know when you drive and you get pulled over more so in one city then another? You learn the lesson to be more cautious when driving. Same goes with boosters

I worked for Walmart for almost 10 years. When our manager made us change the price to match the tag space it was at, we were swarmed with scammers who would find a low priced item shelf tag then they would replace a high priced item tag with it. That policy ended very quickly
So I don't know if this is still the law but when I was working retail in the 90s, if there was still a sale price sign on an item after the sale was over, we had to honor the price. We had to watch a training video about that at one store I worked at so it was a big deal. As far as people scanning and printing out their own price labels, that happens more than you'd think. A man stole over $30k of LEGO sets doing that about 10 years ago.

It is a thing but the point here more about people get confuse with wrong price and a sale ticket( yellow) over a normal ticket with the sale price on it (white like items not on sale) At the retail store I worked at all the price where put in the morning and once that is done haf to reprint all sale tickets (doing this each morning)

If anybody wants to argue it, then list the law… it should be easy to find if it exists… which it doesn’t on any large scale, there are probably a couple small local ordinances.

Had a guy in my store act like the first guy in this video. An employee asked him if he needed help, or wanted a basket. He dropped EVERYTHING, threw a fit, and left 😂

I don't think stores HAVE to sell things for whatever the label says because mistakes do happen. However, once I went to a store to buy a pair of headphones and saw some on sale. It was a good price. While paying, they charged me too much and when I asked about the sale they said it ended yesterday, but they forgot to remove the sign. I was just going to put the headphones back because without the sale it cost too much, but they told me they would sell it for the sale price because it was their fault for forgetting to take the sign down. I really appreciated it.

the only time i ask how much is on this card is if its an actual GIFT CARD for the business im AT cause then they would acutally be able to find out. (or EBT food stamps they have a amchine that scans the card and tells you what your balance is if it doesnt go thru , then you can have them put in a specific amount. (it wont go thru if its over the amt you have on the EBT card so you have to have them enter the specific amount you want them to charge via EBT and then you can charge the rest on regular debit or cash.. so like if it goes over it wont just take whats left on the card and then leave the balance, you have to enter the specific amount you want charged)

Gas Station Encounters is a gem, you should do more of it. They're short videos and it's the commentary that really makes it entertaining. And it's usually shoplifting of small items so unlike TCAP it's way less upsetting when they get away with it, which is almost always since it's rarely even worth the cops' time.

I work at a grocery store deli that has a register. If me or my partners think someone is gonna steal we’ll hold everything behind the counter till the order is done and then we’ll walk over to the register, tell the customer “we can get you right here”. We get so many people saying, oh I’m not done shopping, to which we say that’s cool, grab whatever else you’re gonna get and we’ll get it all right here. Or we get the Oh my, insert other person here, is waiting for me and has the card/cash. Again we say, Alright we’ll hold it for you till they can come back here. No one ever comes back lmao

Dear friends - if you need to steal food (and i'm not judging), go for a chain store or big box. Most of these gas stations or convenience shops are independently owned and/or under franchise rules - individuals and families are out when you steal from them. Corporations can swallow the loss. They now have to drive an hour to get basic necessities due to this kind of thinking. Im not saying anyone should starve to death in the US. When I used to be friends with this couple who made a lot of bad choices, they took me to the lake to drink beer and soak in the sun. The husband stopped on the way there at a small convenience store and ALSO shoved ice cream down his pants 😂 except, no one confronted him. So we’ll have clothes that are 50% get mixed in with 70% (some of those are $100 after the 50% off), and some customers throw fits because I refuse to give it to them for that low

Gas Station Encounters is a gem, you should do more of it. They're short videos and it's the commentary that really makes it entertaining. And it's usually shoplifting of small items so unlike TCAP it's way less upsetting when they get away with it, which is almost always since it's rarely even worth the cops' time.
7:12 as someone who works at a gas station I hate that my state has this law. We have to go by the sticker price or if there is a promotion on something and it's not going through for whatever reason, we have to put it in manually. It's the most irritating shit ever cuz customers will get so mad about it when they see it ring up for more than the sticker price and then act like it's my fault. Like bro I'm a college kid working at a gas station, I promise u I don't care enough to overcharge you on purpose

I work at a grocery store deli that has a register. If me or my partners think someone is gonna steal we’ll hold everything behind the counter till the order is done and then we’ll walk over to the register, tell the customer “we can get you right here”. We get so many people saying, oh I’m not done shopping, to which we say that’s cool, grab whatever else you’re gonna get and we’ll get it all right here. Or we get the Oh my, insert other person here, is waiting for me and has the card/cash. Again we say, Alright we’ll hold it for you till they can come back here. No one ever comes back lmao

Dear friends - if you need to steal food (and i'm not judging), go for a chain store or big box. Most of these gas stations or convenience shops are independently owned and/or under franchise rules - individuals and families are out when you steal from them. Corporations can swallow the loss. Steal with morality! 👍

If you have never had to choose between stealing and starving, you are one of the lucky ones in North America. If it came down it, your "morality" would mean absolutely nothing next to your or your family's survival.
As for your staunch protection of Corporations and their bottom line, is your government giving you the tax breaks you want? Because they certainly are giving them to the Corporations. Call it immoral, but I have no issue with stealing from a company that can take the hit so someone doesn't go hungry that day.
@rainofflame this form of thinking is why cities in California have stores like Walgreens, CVS, Walmart, Target, ect ect have everything locked up. And causes a headache for every person who works for the stuff they have. And that's even if they are lucky enough to have the stores.
Do you have any idea how many chain stores have left those cities? leaving people without ways to get their prescriptions, food ect ect.
Is it fair to them? They now have to drive an hour to get basic necessities due to this kind of thinking. Im not saying anyone should starve to death in the US. But there is countless ways to get help with food if they have no money. Maybe think about how it effects the other 99%.

When I used to be friends with this couple who made a lot of bad choices, they took me to the lake to drink beer and soak in the sun. The husband stopped on the way there at a small convenience store and ALSO shoved ice cream down his pants 😂 except, no one confronted him. We spent that day at the lake with ice cream, caronas, and got to watch the sun set. Bad people, bad thing to do, but still...quite a memory! Okay, now lemme watch this guy get busted 😂

Thank you for bringing this up Kan. I work in retail (clothing store), and customers are constantly putting items where they don’t belong once they decide they don’t want it. So we’ll have clothes that are 50% get mixed in with 70% (some of those are $100 after the 50% off), and some customers throw fits because I refuse to give it to them for that low
And some days those 70% get change to 80%
