In fairness I think it doesn't matter too much to the kids, mechs are just rad to play with. I do like the idea of a paranoid sleep deprived Batman cooking up a contingency protocol for 'what if Gundam was real' though, lol
You mean you don't remember in Empire when Vader was like, "Join me Luke. The Empire has mechs" and then Luke and Vader took on Palpatine in their giant robot suits? I'm just surprised they haven't given the Emperor his iconic mech yet
@@cooperv.6083 there’s also an animated series where the Batmobile does actually transform into a mech, so the premise of the set is not without a lore basis 😂
As someone whose Lego purchases when I was younger were the canister Bionicle sets, these mech designs, especially when character appropriate, are absolutely fabulous to see. I’ve got War Machine and Batman set on a list to pick up at some point, and contemplating toying with their design, the Ninjago Mechs, and the new Surtur to try and find what else I can do.
This looks like such a fun lil set. When they first started these mech thingies I didn’t like em, but the more recent ones have made lots of small improvements they look quite good for what they are, and seem like a toy I would love as a kid
I find it entertaining that people are still complaining about these mechs, this is Lego, not normal toys. If you don't like said toy, you can build it into something else. I've never received a Lego set and said "oh this one is bad" or "ugh I already have this one" because I build it, get bored of it, take it apart, and later build something else out of it. If it was permanently a mech then sure they're a bit weird, but it really doesn't matter what Lego releases as a set. I think the mechs are a welcome idea and they're apparently the closest thing we're getting to Bionicle, so they have a place on the market. There is nothing wrong with these mechs, although I do prefer the large ball joints and elbow/knee articulation, again it's Lego, and if one has those parts there's nothing stopping you from improving the set yourself. Lego sets are the starting point, not the end goal. Lego's job is to release part packs and inspire people, they don't make normal toys.
Nice toy. The low price gives us the chance to get two sets to make one bulked up version for a greater look and more flexibility, concerning knee joints etc.
That's a very classic Lego Batman minifigure. Exactly as complex as it needs to be. The mech itself also looks like one of the better ones they've ever done, just wish these were closer to $13 than $15.
They could make it work if they were more creative than mech is a bigger version of the character. Like for Superman make his mech out of the JL’s Javelin, have Wonder Woman’s mech be her invisible jet, do a light construct for Green Lantern.
for big characters like the hulk or venom it makes sense if you picture the mech to be their body. they start out human size, but grow to giant mech-like sizes when at full power.
@@Gzilla313 Well I do have several of these including Iron man, Thor and some others and they do look cool side by side and a good thing for a child to collect them all. There low cost and good gifts, and fun so is what it is.
@@Marvin_R Thats a good point, Venum that would make sence, these are good fun and basically a continuation of the Nexo knight mechs, they must sell well or they wouldn't keep making them.
this is a cool design, but I liked these mechs way better when they had articulation in the elbows and knees. They allowed so much more freedom for cool poses. This prebent piece for legs and arms seems like a lazy solution.
It took lego WAY to long to make any dc mechs at all. Maybe this is a step in seeing cooler characters get mechs but in all likelihood, it will just be more batmam mechs and MAYBE a joker or Harley Quinn mech. Too little too late.
LOL how dare they make toys for kids! Tragedy! But in all seriousness LEGO DC will return to form when DC does. Only reason LEGO's only doing Batman 24/7 is because that's all that sells consistently well on the mass market right now.
@@JANGsLEGOreviews Lego can still make toys for kids while being a little more creative. These mechs are extremely formulaic. Why not do something interesting even if its as small as making new figures?
@@JANGsLEGOreviews I hope they haven't missed their chance, now that it seems like superhero stuff in general is going a bit out of style (at least compared to a few years ago, when Marvel was ruling the movie industry).
These mechs really are at their best when it’s of a character who would actually have one
The Luke with an X-Wing mech was a great idea too. They need more like that.

It definitely seems like the next step from the Dark Knight Returns armor.

Just imagining Batman 'non violently' bisecting a criminal with his 4 foot long batarang 😂
Criminal breaking every bone in his body, probably paralysed, but "he'll live".
The fact Batman would actually use this makes it even better.
Love the wings and thruster, that’s exactly what Vader was missing, some extra stuff back there!

Well my child is clearly going to ask for this one. Thanks for the review Jang.

I actually like this Batman minifig a lot because of the head design to not have the white for the eyes on the head.

It looks great!
With the new turnable waist and cape/wing thing, I'm tempted to get one just to upgrade the Vader mech.
This is probably the best mech weve seen so far
I really don't feel like fifteen is cheap anymore, especially when twenty gets you a more fleshed out set.
Turned the Hulk one into a Lex Luthor mech!
So did I! I have a feeling the Superman versus Lex Luthor Mech set being released next year will be repurposed mechs.
Batman: The Brave and the Bold vibes

The head kinda look proportioned to the mech's body.😆
It's the big mask most likely
A flying Batman mech is so fun
Reminds me of Azrael Batman/Jean Paul Valley from the knightfall comics arc in the 90s.
Cool bat mech like the wings great detail im Batman awesome review jang 👍
Batman channeling his inner Iron Man.
What Batman villain would be the coolest to get a mech? I’m thinking mr freeze
I think you're right.
I feel like it should’ve just been a red and black color scheme like the Hellbat armor with a new mini figure.
amazing set 👏🏾
cool, when do we get the Joker and the rest of the rogues' gallery?
Would’ve benefited from a new fig (torso)
Thank you for this review
