Can you tell what your final drop is? The "width" of the box is 30", is the the direction the eggs roll? How much higher is the one side than the other? Thanks.

Nice idea but maybe drop the rain skirt down so the door barely clears it ... Wind can move rain sideways and sometimes up ...
Sash locks work great for that type of application. Closes tight, easy to install, and raccoons can't figure them out.
If you installed the barrel lock the other way I don't think a coon would be able to lift the knob up to open.

Tenax makes the mesh rolled green fencing we used for space dividers. We used Bird-x netting to cover the chicken run. Got them at Lowes
