    We have a blind dog and so far, from two cleanings🌼 I am pretty sure if we attached a vacuum to him and let him wander around the house, it would probably be a lot like watching the roomba work. Lots of seeming aimlessness and bumping into things. The roomba is also kind of loud. Not unpleasantly so but is louder than I imagined. And so far, during both cleanings the roomba has gotten caught up on the legs of our recliner which is apparently what it imagines hanging off a cliff to be like because that is the error message I get. Now.

    MODEL E6 IS SUPER BAD. IT CLEAN IN DISORDER.

  • @fernandogomes6688
    @fernandogomes6688 4 роки тому

    Gosh, you have no idea abput how bad this robot is, I guess...
    This model is very, very basic.
    It does not map your house, will clean in random directions, no "back to base to recharge then continue", no mopping, no virtual walls in app, no carpet detection, the list goes on.
    I understand that people like their robots and want to share the enthusiasm, but you can get a Roborock S5 for the price of this Roomba E6, and you will never go back.

    • @Trainboy1EJR
      @Trainboy1EJR 3 роки тому +1

      The Roborock S5 appears to be $480, the Roomba e6 was $250. For half the price, the roomba is adequate. I chose the dumbest roomba with the easy clean brushes and hepa filter so that I don't even have to use an app, I just push the button on top and it bumps around until it is out of battery, and the house is clean. Sometimes the simplest solutions are the best.

    Definitely getting this from Costco this month! And wow, didn't know the "invisible wall" blocks are two separate units that can be placed at two places to restrict the Roomba's access to two different parts of the home, and having linear AND radial barriers. I've always thought the two blocks need to be placed facing each other to form a line just to block off the Roomba's path.
    And 40+ hours's worth of vacuuming?!! If you factor the labor cost of the federal minimum of of $7.25/hour by the # of hours the Roomba has worked... the device practically paid for itself. Time is money! It's so true when they say that machines and automation replaces jobs.
    Thanks for the very informative review!

  • @RogerDiotte
    @RogerDiotte 5 років тому +6

    Just a tip, I see you have pets and water bowls on the floor. If you put one of those wall barriers into Radius Mode not Straight Line Mode and permanently leave it behind the pet bowls it stops the robot from bashing in them knocking water everywhere and in some cases which has happened if enough water spills, won't destroy the motherboard or fry it. That's a big feature of those barriers. Also I noticed you mentioned about the falling down stairs which mine has never done in over 2 years is you shouldn't ever have to use the barriers for that IF you regularly wipe with a damp dish rag under the robot where those clear plastic sensors are. That's what those are there for as they are called edge sensors.
    ALSO those barriers supposedly act as another important feature in that they apparently direct the robot back to it's charging base. So you just turn them on and leave them in their respective spots as they shut off automatically. I've put velcro on mine and stuck them in the spots I want mine so they'll never move if someone or something budges them. The same goes for my charging base I always put velcro on it so the robot doesn't knock it around when trying to dock.

      Oh wow, how anyone even thinks of a return lol, it's such a great machine to have around with a little bit of maintenance every now and then. Always clean the dirt bin, wipe the underside with a damp rag especially the little sensors and charge contacts, I do it after every vacuum. In a very short time your place will be dust free...

    Yes.🙌🏼 My house would look awful if it wasn’t for my Roomba. I bought the 980 (that price tag will make anyone cry) when I first got my dog. Also a huge plus that should sell anyone on a Roomba is that it cleans UNDER the bed and dressers every day!

    The iRobot Roomba e6198 is the newest model. This is my 3rd Roomba. 1st of all it is a vacuum meaning it is not going to be stealth. It is not loud like a normal vacuum but much quieter. You don’t have to press the home button for it to return home. It will automatically go back “Home” to charge when it is close to running out of battery or when it is full of trash. It DOES NOT keep memory of its surroundings. It is all terrain and will easily go from carper to wood or tile with ease. When it is upstairs, It will also sense that it is close to the stairway and move along it....never falling over the edge. The compartment is small so you should be cleaning Max 2 rooms at a time and not 4-6 rooms. It picks up dog hairs without loosing suction and easy to empty. My dog does not try to bite it like a regular vacuum. I HIGHLY recommend it!

    • @WendiLee

      Shouldn’t take it long to clean!! I don’t think you would regret getting one. The dogs may go crazy. Haha!

    • @RogerDiotte
      @RogerDiotte 5 років тому +1

      Since it's just an RV I would just buy the lower priced 690 model. Why, well it's still a heavy hitter in cleaning in fact very similar. You get 1 Dual Mode Barrier included (you can always buy more if needed) and it is Wifi Connected meaning you can use the phone app if ya want but don't have to as it works just the same. Your not comprising much if anything other than this model has the one Bristle Roller versus 2 rubber rollers on the 800, 900, E and i series.
      I own both a 980 and 671 series so I have one with 2 Rubber Rollers and the 671 has the 1 Bristle Brush and to be honest I find neither gives me any problems and the bristle isn't that big a deal to clean which you do every now and then by removing the hair on it. Plus the 690 also has the Lithium Ion Battery like the series mentioned above which is a bonus.
      I'd buy 2 for the price of the one then you'd have one at home and one for the RV.

    Two things. You said it can only find home from 6 feet? It doesn't go to its base after a cleaning? I thought it would do a cleaning and then return home when done.

    • @WendiLee
      @WendiLee  5 років тому +1

      Yeah, so ours has only ever finished a cleaning and gone back home a couple times. For the most part, it will clean for almost 2 hours and then it will either get stuck and shut off or the battery will run out. I think it keeps running until it doesn't detect dirt, so I guess our floors must be pretty dirty..haha! Plus the area that it covers is a pretty good distance, so I think it has a hard time finding the home because it's too far away. Maybe I will try having it clean a smaller area and see if it goes back to the home when its finished.

    • @WendiLee
      @WendiLee  5 років тому

      UPDATE: The other day I blocked off the other rooms and just had it running in the kitchen. It did in fact run the cleaning and then return home after almost an hour and a half. It must have been finished detecting dirt.

    • @RogerDiotte
      @RogerDiotte 5 років тому

      I'm thinking the same there must be lots of dirt or a really a big pile of dirt cause I don't ever think mine has never returned home and I have say 900 square feet with rooms to clean. For my larger house which is around 1100 or 1200 square feet with several rooms that's where the 980 or the i7 comes into play with it's onboard mapping and pattern like cleaning. Without those features you'll get failed returns more often. With the onboard camera models they have the feature to return home by memory and recharge to complete the job if needed.
