I now have 22 hours where I finished route A on very hard/hard (lowering to hard if I couldn't handle very hard any more). Lowered to normal for 1 boss. Tried to beat it on very hard entire way but just died to many times. I know I will never replay the story so might as well play on hardest difficulty on the first try ;P
One time the game glitched on the first goliath in the city ruins and I got to go straight into the 2nd one without fighting it. Pretty sure I'm a speed runner now.

I just gave up after trying for 1,5h and set the difficulty on easy. I fucking hate that prologue. Doesnt tell you anything about the game and mechanics. After that I put it back to hard tho. I think now I could first try it but in the beginning with no experience it fucking sucked.
dash->swing attack is the fastest movement to hit the dialogue trigger that i have to wait for. i also wanted to kill the guy so my speardash movement didn't auto lockon to him.

Is sprinting not faster than dodging? I'm almost positive it is. Edit: OH I see what you're doing now. You're dodging to get that fast sprint for a second then rinse and repeat. That's smart.
Amei, if it's not too much to ask, would you do a casual speedrun with commentary? Like you're not aiming to be as fast as possible, but explaining everything you do and why you do it
Not something i plan to do any time soon. There are a couple of GDQ runs of the game that explain most things during the run though, maybe check those out?

Heya! If you got ending A, you've only seen half the game! Play again for ending B (not much different, but the end of the story changes), and then a third time for ending C/D (this is where everything gets crazy!!). I definitely encourage playing some more 🙌
It's a damage glitch. You evade+heavy with small sword at the same time. The spinning sword will do 2x normal dmg. You can spam light attacks with other weapon to maximize output
Is it possible to do a bigger sequence break at the copied city by going out of bounds and falling into the elevator, or is that impossible as the elevator does not yet work? I figure you can't directly go to the copied city since it is a separate space and does not exist in the overworld. As far as I can tell, that is the only sequence break in this speedrun; I expected a bigger jump somewhere. ;-)
Jump + heavy (delay the heavy as long as possible) -> heavy -> jump -> heavy -> self destruct (for 1 frame) -> heavy -> dash + heavy -> self destruct (1 frame at peak height) -> hold jump & do any attack input to do the spin. If you get enough height you can either plunge over it or do the SD->Spin and move into the wall to push yourself up and over it. You need a lot of height to make it over so its normal for people to struggle with it until they build up the muscle memory. Good controller bindings help a lot too :)
People really plays the game with English voices? They don't do the characters justice. 2b it's like a different person completely. At least the machines VA is great.
@@Ameiii I just wanted to watch a speedrun to learn some advanced techniques myself but my brain cant process english dum in games like this or any FF game since its clear they were meant to be played in Japanese... Which means I cant watch this... Simple...
@@bumpy86 We only use english because its faster. The JP dub sounds good but when you start doing speedrun tech the sounds are awful lol. A lot of the run becomes high pitched screams :(
@@Ameiii Yeah yeah, I get it. I was broswing reddit and they explained that there but that was after my comment since I couldnt find anything in JP. But I did some interesting stuff (not for speedrunning but for regular high level gameplay) but one thing I cant seem to pull off is to extend my jump height, seems like im pressing the butouns at the right time and yet nothing, but the rest of the stuff like double damage with loadout swapping mit attack and increased damage with light sword on heavy attack during dodge are quite useful things for hardest difficulty playtrough.

How do you get so much DPS? Even just in the starting mission you got so much DPS on the first boss and the Goliath
