I may sound weird for saying this, but I genuinely enjoy Half Life 2 Overcharged, it's just so goofy and there are so many new weapons, enemies, and even map edits. It changes the Half Life 2 game that its (somewhat) refreshing to play and different while still being the same maps at its core. I enjoy just screwing around with cheats to get me certain weapon loadouts like the Adrian Shepard loadout or the Half Life 1 loadout. Just don't play it on hard, it you want it to be a challenge by the way, choose the realism setting, it makes so you can only have 8 weapons which means you have to think about what you need and makes the drop weapon function useful. Also, I love the Charger enemy because it's just an Ailen dinosaur.
I assume you must have loved it since it looks quite fun. Saying you're not reviewing it "As a form of boycott" sounds way too dramatic for a video game mod.
This is how Valve originally wanted HL2 to be like but the common pc would not have been able to play this in 2004 so we got the HL2 we know and HATE today instead of this masterpiece

2:30 that is the cheapel model that is used for the metrocop in kliner's lab it is not an issue created by the mod but they could have put in a regular metrocop there
@@richardchicken923 I liked this mod actually, I like the new weapons and enemies and some other weird shit but the problem with the mod is just it was buggy and unbalanced and some weapon were just redundant for example half life 2 retail SMG and beta smg is just unnecessary. And inconsistent or out of place models such as some weapons does not fit half life 2 or half life 1 enemy ported straight from original without some modification to fit half life 2 atmosphere and style

overall overcharged is chaotic as hell and i freaking love it, is a good mod where you need to trun off your brain and just mess around with it if you are really bored. Also a quick way to have it run instead of just scrolling through soo many addons from gmod workshop.
Reminds me very highly of Smod, and it's made for the same exact people that's made for. I get why it's not for everyone but there is a silly childish fun to be had with mods like this.

A few things i really wanna see added /re-added in new versions overcharged is the enemy randomizer, weapon randomizer and a preset option for a more streamlined weapon per slot limit/ easy swap. I actually enjoyed the earlier release despite jank and some issues
It looks like something i would do when i was 16 years old. It has no sense, no cohesen, everything in clash with each other, it 100% would be better without some of that stuff. But boy i really want to have kalashninkov in game and you cant stop me :V
I still think they need to change the maps like expand them to account the new enemies, like imagine Route Kanal but less claustaphbic and Xen infested or something with more creatures added.
Perhaps it's beyond me why people would be so overreacting to a mod that is completely free and doesn't carry some huge thought behind it (like Prospekt, which is also a pay mod and deserves criticism that it get). However, I also can't understand what is the problem with playtesting mod before releasing something like this.
Playtesting isn’t required to make a mod that simply adds weapons. It is required for a mod that adds and plays around with the enemies and their spawns. Edit: It’s also required to check if any major bugs are in the game, such as crashes.
Seeing the part where the combine soldier kick you on one shot made me loose my ship. Also why are there so much aliens, what did a second residence cascade happened??
this mod still has some sort of potential if they stop fucking their brains up, id say the best parts of this mod are the new zombie variants, the cremator, the combine guard, and the charger thing from the hl2 beta, they all fit in quite well and I like them ( besides their textures )
First, 100 kicks out of 10. We are talking Kung-Fu movies levels of kicks. Second, not bad. Junky and silly - yes, bad - no. And much better than the original version. Nice to the the authors still improving on their work despite the amount of negative feedback they've got.
I gotta be honest, lots of questionable decisions in this mod but the kick isn't a bad addition (I kinda like how stupid overpowered it is). That, and imo introducing the zombine during HL2 actually makes sense even if it does deflate Alyx seeing it for the first time later.

Overcharged will be rebuiled from scratch for Steam release. It might take 2-3 years since there only one coder for now

I will say I like the heavily MMOD inspired crosshairs if I have to give a positive, and like almost all games that include it, the kicks fun.
