If you and the others that are whining had actual watched the episodes, you would have recognized from the screen pic what episode it actually was and actually not cared about the title.
4:00 I was momentarily like "Oh! Nice! Breaking Bad reference" before remembering that this season first aired the the mid 2000s... there was no Breaking Bad to reference!
Every person that can pick locks say it's so easy. But I've never seen an inexperienced person successfully pick a doorknob lock it a relatively short time.
If you have even a basic beginners lockpicking set, it really is just as simple as jiggling the lock. With something like a paperclip, in the times I've done it, I've found it's more about being lucky enough to get all the pins in place. That being said, you're usually picking a lock to break in, not break out.
I can't imagine it being impossible to build an ultralight out of bamboo, trash bags, and duck tape, but having one week to do it and having never built an airplane before is doomed to failure. The myth is busted either way, but I too would have liked to seen the results replicated: maybe bring in a professional ultralight designer. Maybe change the design; use something like an ultralight trike, if that would be easier. Maybe test a more modern air vent engine to see if it offers more RPM. This is one of those myths where every individual aspect of the technology feels like it should be possible, but the circumstances of the myth - an untrained, inexperienced builder under a time crunch - render it untenable.
Honestly my first thought would have been to just bust the door down. If stealth isn't your goal and don't care about damage, that's definitely the fastest way out.
I have the complete series of MacGyver on DVD. I also have a Harvard education and I can say, for a fact, that 99.999% of the things that MacGyver did are false. Still entertaining though.
The wings on the ultralight were so incredibly oversized for the rest of the plane. They were too big, too tall, too long, and most importantly, too dang heavy.
there is some credence to using duct tape and trash bags for a plane it just helps to have a good enough engine the right shape and a good enough drop. bush plane in alaska got damaged by a bear and the pilot was able to fix it up with duct tape but it had the engine and proper frame
I just started watching the full episodes they have been posting. But I noticed they removed the "Don't try this at home" disclaimers which feel incredibly unsafe.
What they actually made as an "airplane" isn't even close to what we can see in the movie. They made it heavier, uglier and with different proportions. It's not the case when geometry doesn't matter. Why are they bothered to make a modern shaped wings while in the movie there were plain ones? Modern shaped wings should be calculated thoroughly while plain wings is much easier to make and to make them fly somehow. Kind of not fair.
What on earth is going on with this? They posted this whole season about a year ago, calling it season 5. Now they're posting the whole thing with different titles and thumbnails, and calling it season 4. It would be great if the YT Mythbusters channel got its own content correctly identified, and didn't waste so much time by reposting 32 episodes.
Dang, I really like the Antacid Jail Break episode. What a tease!
Wrong title, this is the Macgyver special
Mythbusters 2008e06 - MacGyver Myths
Okay I like having full Mythbusters episodes available to watch again but could we please get them with the correct episode titles/descriptions?!

Breaking Bad referenced Mythbusters
When in doubt, C4. Best line ever from Jamie
Top 3 favorite episodes: Cutting a sword with a sword, salsa escape and Alcatraz. Honorable mention: Literally anything involving buster. Buster ❤
43:27 Adam's so proud of himself and it's adorable and hilarious
(13:50) So it's not flying; it's falling with style.
That's right Buzz!!

Yeah. The few times I tried hobby lockpocking, I gave up in frustration bc i couldnt get the stupid thing open

Search lockpicking lawyer. MasterLocks can be openned by low-skill raking.
He also has many videos that teach you how to pick
Honestly, I'd like to see if that bamboo ultralight could have worked if it had been given a better motor to power it.

Would have been cool if Richard Dean Anderson had joined this episode

The lock picking lawyer would have picked that door faster than MacGyver
You’d think Macguiver woulda made a small toolkit part of his edc after the 30th time.
I never would've guessed built an ultralight after saying cement mixer lol
You have to forgive Grant for saying Macgyver was "fictional". He was young and naive.
I'm just coming back to MB after a long hiatus... And I've just been made aware of the news. I can hardly believe it.

Because somebody else already did, and they put it on a free tv station. It stinks.
