Ah the infamous "Bryll" cream episode. Where the producers (as revealed on Adam's tested recently) right as the episode was finished came in and claimed "nope, you cant actually use the term "Bryll cream". The manufacturer won't let us". Hence why its so weirdly edited. They had to remove almost all instances of them saying the term and painstakingly dub over those that they couldn't remove.
Hi, I love your videos please keep them coming! I once read about an airman, I think bomber crew, whose plane was hit by flak. The plane was on fire and when he bailed-out his 'chute burnt. He fell, hit a steeply sloping snow covered slope and survived. Sorry that I don't have anymore details.
Woman survives airplane crash in tail of plane. Mythbusters: well, I dunno, I mean she did survive and we know that for sure, so it could really go either way here. I guess let's just call it plausible.
that flight attendant surviving inside the tail section .. they did it all WRONG. obviously it's possible, since it actually happened and i think reason why she survived is cuz tail section was falling either "nose" or tail first, which softened the impact enough for her to survive, but if they drop a mid-tail section, it has no soft areas at all. their mistake was to cut off the tail itself, which i think would have softened the landing. also tail section has wings, which could still provide lift. it could act similar to that raft drop, it starts to sway from side to side and this slows it down. i think it was 1 out of a million, but obviously it's possible. they're not gonna be able to replicate the results by just throwing pieces of plane from a helicopter, they need to take it to small scale and test angles and see which angle will have least impact force on the passenger and then work out which design would produce least impact, then combine and take it to big scale.
Hey wait , the tail gunner in the B-167 still had the horizontal and vertical wings on and that was what caused it to slow down and the tail gunner survived .
I am dissapointed that they did not show moment of buster hitting the ground :c we all know it is just dummy even from far away... I know this episode aired years ago but still I find it somehow amusing that some people might find it disturbing
Watching this moment i thought about people, who jumped from twin towers, and this is 23 years later. The episode aired on 10 august 2005, so this cut is understandable.
The flight attendant survived because she fell into a wooded area with tall trees that had strong branches. She was falling strapped on her chair and the chair was hitting the branches that slowed down her fall.
Oil or grease does not belong with oxygen. Oxygen itself is not a self-igniting gas. But if grease and oil come into contact with oxygen under high pressure, it can cause spontaneous combustion, and in certain cases fire.
Interresitng to hear Adam talk about Mythbusters, and how Discovery producers where the factor that really destroyed the original targetgroup, that made the show successful. and how much this weird aspect of political correctness under the scheme of making it "family friendly" was the worst thing you could do. Making the show extremely neutered, removed a lot of the daredevil DNA that appeal to many of the viewers..when even footage with Buster landing on the groud, is deemed to much and footage that ain't "family friendly" 14:15 when a crashdummy landing on the ground, is seen as "not family friendly" then your pretty far of the mark. Another thing that Adam mentions is bad Discovery producers ythta was ported over' form other Discovery shows with a very psynical approach on how you meet their viewers and other Discovery shows where "make believe-drama", was quite common - and producers that at every turn wanted to make crosspromo with other Discovery realityshows- Also didn't sit well, this fake acting on each of the highlights and scripted interactions, and something that the viewers started to dislike Tory, Grant & Kary from, as their overdramatic reaction was simply not natural, and it was producers that wanted them to fake the viewers by overplaying their "reaction" and it simply wasn't fair to Grant & Tory & Kari, as viewers took notice.. When you watch the old shows.. its so natural, sympathic and appealing.. was lost over the years alongside the succes.
Wicked how much the facts varies from one show to the next. Remember the show about the airgunner that falled on a trainstation roof and was cushion from a boomb.. on that episode they claimed that human body optains maximum fall speed after 5 sec. and 500 feet and why they only needs 500 feet and could do it with weatherballons.. now its 14 sec. and 2000 feet. 2:37 Am i mistaken something or do they simply rig the factual info on a episode basis.. to spin the viewers with relative factual evidens depending on whatever narrative they need.
context from the 22.000 feet air gunner episode.. stated its 5.5 sec or 500 feet for an average human male body to reach maximum speed (terminal velocity)..ua-cam.com/video/o7QAiVGfunA/v-deo.htmlsi=QYk6EgRQO85uEBLX&t=745 and in this episode' video above.. its suddenly 400% more.. and now is 2000 feet ..and 14 sec. 2:35 I know this show ain't science and plain entertainment, but it still precarious how much so-called "facts" can vary from one episode to the next and its like they simply bend it to fit the narrative.
@@JAKOB1977its is 12sec and 1500ft, I don’t know what happened maybe buster was built differently and that impacted their calculations maybe they got it wrong the first time, it’s not that big of a deal tbh
The gag in the Indy movie was, that the boat wan inflated during the fall. i was faltered around the dummies in it and folded over them, let it fall straight down. in the last phase it inflates and got more rigid and landed. So the MB did it wrong right away....
i really dont see how cutting off and dropping like 5% of the plane is any kind of test to see whether wreckage riding is possible. The whole point is that the rest of the plane crumples and absorbs the impact before it gets to the passenger... You completely eliminate that possibility by cutting away 95% of the planes mass lol. Just a pointless test altogether.
Grant is a madman this episode. Getting blasted with baby powder and drinking coolant.
Working on multiple myths, cracking great jokes.. Grant was stellar this episode.
Der Verrückte
Even more so now we know Talc was full of asbestos.
I think it was dye. You put it in the water to help yourself stand out to planes in the air.
You know it's bad when Tory has safety concerns.
True
Or he have had them before and they cleared out before they got dangerous.
