Used my new air fryer today. Read all instructions, washed out the basket and liner as suggested to remove residue. Put a hamburger patty in for breakfast to test the machine. 20 mins after eating my whole body went into an allergic reaction of prickly heat. Reddish whelps across my arms and face. I’m 69 and never experienced such. I believe I will throw this machine in the trash and use my more conventional method of cooking in the future.
All you had was a reaction could be anything from the cooker if ur allergic to what it's made out of to the food being contaminated for example nuts or soy that's it. Otherwise there perfectly safe.

I don't understand how people think the air fryer is easier. Aerosolized grease gets all around the burner & fan making it hard to clean. They are really just a small convection oven anyway, it's not a fryer. Proper frying can also end up less greasy because the instant high heat sears out the oil. Unless your parchment paper has the same holes the basket does it reduces the function of the fan so you might as well be using a toaster oven. I don't use non stick (like many air fryers are coated with), I only use cast iron, stainless & ceramic. Cancer is not even on my list of why air fryers are a waste of counter space.

On the typical basket style you can't clean both sides of the fan without removing from the unit & you can't even properly clean the front of the blades with the element in the way. Mine has a panel on both sides of the vent so to clean in there the whole outer casing has to come off. I don't need a single tool to completely clean my oven.
