When you show the ship you need to also show the price in money. This is "on a budget" after all.

As always your videos are must watch for Armada. I was surprised to see the interdictor so high as it can be tricky to play but I had never thought of it as a self contained expansion which as you say is absolutely true.
Wish I could play Armada more... great video as usual. I may have flipped the Interdictor and the Gladiator for ease of play reasons but you give valid reason for why you put the Interdictor first.

I one shot my friends Corvette today in my 2nd game ever with my Victory SD. It was epic.
Gunnery teams are a must have on most capital ships cause isd and the victory have all there firepower on a wide frontal arc
I once rolled 3 Double Reds, 2 Hit/Crits and a Hit with my Black die to his Liberty Star Cruiser and then with my other cards I was able to one shot him when I only needed 3
Nice video! Just started myself. Ended up buying the raider expansion instead of the light cruiser, since I thought being more manouverable and all would be nice to have for the empire to start with, since it also has some nice anti-squadrons fire. Plus i kinda like the look of the ship haha.
But thanks for making this video, just starting i'm so clueless on most stuff, i still need to read in depth the rules and how everything works since I've only played a demo game at a store ;;

I get everything cause......ummmm I have a problem. Truer words were never spoken by someone playing Armada. All of us who love this game have an amazingly fun problem. Awesome video brother, you have yet to disappoint.
As an Imperial Swarm Commander I highly recommend Imp. Squadrons 1 if you have the starter kit. You get 8 squadrons, 2 TIE fighters (basic fighters) 2 TIE Interceptors (high points/better dogfighting) 2 TIE Bombers (high health/anti-captial ship damage) and 2 TIE Advanced (high points/ high health) and adds a lot to the diversity of your fleet for different opponents and will bring your TIE Fighters up to 8 all for $20. After that focus on specific capital ships for specific roles/cards.
If you don't plan on keeping a rebel and a Imp. Fleet consider trading off your other faction ships for something that's your faction. Me and a friend both started together he picked Rebel and I picked Imperial so we just traded each other and got great starting fleets and our own tools and dice.
If you want to get serious with the game get an Imperial Star Destroyer ($50+) and a Imperial Squadrons 2 pack ($20) for more specialty squadrons.
Haven't played with the Raider yet, but I'm taking one to my next game with Admiral Montferrat to hopefully make it a little more survivable.
Impetuous+Point-Defense Reroute+Ordnance Experts to help it's primary role of Squadron smushing.
And Expanded Launchers+Montferrat for a flanking role.
We'll see if it works :P
I hope they do what they did with x wing, come out with a second core set but it differs from the original (I.E. maybe to small imperial ship one new rebel ship)
Best Imperials in terms of points per $ spent: Arquittens (by far), Raider, then ISD
Worst: Gozanti (by far), Gladiator, then VSD
I'd also say that the fighter packs give you a ton of points for very little cash. Although there is a limit to how much you can use.
Actually I think it would be better to buy at least 1 squadron pack before you buy each ship in the faction. Squadrons have became a very important part of the game and you will need more options than just the TIE fighters in the Core. Maybe get the Imperial I squadron pack after the ISD. (ISD VSD and a good squadron selection should be perfect for a starting game). Corellain Campaign after VSD for the upgraded squadron cards. Imperial II after the Gozanti, and Rouges and Villains after you got all the ships and started to get some rebel ships.
I haven't played armada yet but it looks amazing, a lot of people at my gaming club play x wing (I play it) and armada. I finished lost stars about 2 weeks ago and discovered that Cienna is in armada!!!! So I was thinking of running a list something like this 1 ICSD and 2 Victories a light cruiser or to and cinna with some bomber and tie fighter squadrons. Thoughts?

Do you have advice for someone who enjoys the game, but can't get any of their friends to buy a set of their own? Picking a faction is kinda a luxury I don't have until I can show people I know why this is a cool game.
I'd almost recommend the Imperial Fighters 2 first just for the Lambda shuttle. It makes using squadrons much easier.
Hi, I’m fairly new to Armada but love the game. Right now I only have two victories and an interdictor, and for the rebels, a home one, a nebulon b and a cr90 corvette. I’ve watched lots of videos, including this one, but I can’t seem to decide what to get next! Any suggestions?

I am thinking of starting to play and I might have a friend that will play with me. I just want to ask my stupid question so I'll stop thinking about it. So if we both bought a Core Set, kept all the things like maneuver tools, and dice to ourselves, but gave each other the ships to our chosen factions so we had double the ships for one faction. What kind of game could we play? Would it be any fun playing with 2 core sets? What size of game would that look like? Would it be onesided to Empire or Rebels?

I've been trying so hard NOT to play Armada. It's more expensive than X-Wing and seems like it takes even longer to play. However the models are gorgeous and I feel like I just drool over them every time I go into the game shop. This video was really helpful though and when I finally bite the bullet I'll definitely check it out again.

I know you did a VSD/Interdictor build once, are you reconsidering that build again with Wave 5? I'm trying one with a singe Arquitens TRC, Intel Off. with an additional Gozanti and repair crews. Interdictor is running with Projector Experts. Basically I'm using the Dictor to reshield the VSD II every turn, and the Gozanti to heal the VSD after using Jerjerrod. You run a very tight formation, with the Arc running on the outside.
I was thinking of a Triple VSD Build with an Interdictor... but it runs pretty slim on upgrades. The problem I have right now, is that virtually every Imperial build I put together I end up scrapping in favor of just running all Arquitens.
Crabbok I know the Arc is the hot thing right now, but I would seriously think about re-trying the Int/VSD. Probably not 3 VSD, though.
I am aware that you dislike squadrons, but the game has really come to a point where having squadrons is a necessity. Try Whisper and the TIE Phantoms in a non-vid match. I'm not really seeing many people talk about them, but I think the Phantoms are possibly some of the best anti-squadron lockdown groups you can field.

Phantoms also get 2 red dice against ships - which is just sick!
A Question: How can you balance out a coreset+an ISD between two players?
Because I'm buying both I bought a gladiator and an additional Victory.
So basically buy everything.
Well, there aren't that many ships out for Armada yet anyways. In a year or two this type of video this will be a lot more relevant.
Also, this video does rank the ships as well, which is important if you can't buy them all at once.

The Raider has one problem. It's often the dog chasing the dump truck. Sure, it can catch it, then what?
Well, you've got to position youself in the weakest arc of said DumpTruck. Also it really helps to be 1st player if you are running Raiders, so you can catch the truck, then Shoot, then get out of the way.
I play rebels. I like being the dump truck. a friend ended up in range 1 of ackbar home 1 on turn 6. made up for me double arcing my pelta trying to get to the side of his victory.
Yeah, I run into that problem a lot with CR-90s. Getting my activations down, especially as you get 5+ can be very interesting...
Unfortunately the light cruiser has been unavailable in the UK for months...... :-(

I've committed to a couple raiders plating cerallian conflict. never used them much. what's the pelta upgrade that you refer to, or any other upgrade or tactic to keep them alive ? thank you for the great videos!
Flechette Torpedoes - Lets you spend a black crit to toggle the activation of a squadron. You can basically stop enemy squadrons from activating. Black dice though so have to be close.
TO keep them alive you basically want to try to have ALOT of activations and try to wait until all of your opponents ships have activated before bringing them in. If you can't do that, then try to get around the enemy's main arc - try to come at them from behind if you can. Or go after weaker ships wit them - like Flotillas or other small ships like a CR-90.

You can only do one upgrade per ship at the beginning - so keep that in mind. Additionally I would generall think that ships with greater survivability will be more important in the campaign.

i believe because it's difficult to play effectivly. i love the raider with the new flechette torpedoes and ordnance experts.

Seems somewhat silly you need to buy new ships to get cards for other ones. Do they not offer card packs or things like that? I would likely just end up printing some out, considering buying ships I don't intend to field to properly field ships I've already purchased seems a little much. Perhaps I simply don't know what I'm talking about.

I have bought 12 board games over the last year. 4 of them remain unplayed. I am having difficulty finding adult nerds who are interested. I want this game sooo bad, but can't justify the expense, as, it'd probably just sit there.

Leia is also coming, but yeah there aren't many Imperial Females yet. The empire is very typical of the old world... dominated by white males. Little by little though, strong characters that break those stereotypes are emerging. Cienna Ree is also a good example of a great Imperial Female.
