    Can someone please explain to me how this guy isn't a projected top 10 overall pick. I've been looking deep into stats, games, highlights, and projections of every prospect in this years class, and there seems to me that there is no reason why this kid shouldn't be a projected top 5 pick. Stats and film are out standing. Uses size to see options to pass to the outside well, high pick and roll iq, big time post offensive and defensive player that definitely should translate at the next level. Seriously, what am I missing here?
    Edit 9 months later:
    Ya, I still think this dude can play at the next level. People saying he's slow are wrong. I wouldn't say he's fast, but he hustles a lot to make up for it. He's an white rim protector, paint finisher, and the dude plays with really good IQ. Gets open, finds his open teammates. Just a fantastic all-around team oriented center. He's like a taller Tim Duncan minus the shooting ability. But his size will give him more buckets I side to make up for that. I'm not saying he'll be as good as Timmy or have his resume. But what made Tim great, Edey can do too. Can easily be a 15-10-5 guy at the next level. Is that elite? No, but very valuable, yes.

      I feel like he would fit right in alongside AD with the Lakers. I’d take him at pick 17, he’s more developed than others and still has room to grow.

    • @ChickenFriedDryEraseMarkers
      @ChickenFriedDryEraseMarkers Рік тому +5

      @@drip6337 Idk how you'd space that, AD should be at Center and you can't have 2 centers on the floor. But any team in the need of a center who can be one of your elite players should make a move on him.

      Unstoppable at the college level but an awkward fit in today’s NBA. If he’s not agile enough for small ball style, which is a huge problem. he would be comparable to zubac, maybe even a little better at best

      To me only reason is NBA teams want their fancy offensive guys to run the show and someone like Edey, Jackson-Davis would be unsuited to play role in that kind of hero-ball game

    With players/people as big (tall & heavy/7'.4", 300lbs.) as Zach, you must always be weary of injury to their lower extremities (hips to feet), especially if a player like Zach is overworked/played too many minutes a game/season. So far, Zach has been injury free of any serious injuries, but that concern is always there. On the right team (a team that doesn't use Zach in the wrong way/overwork him), I could see Zach having a long & memorable/productive career, if used properly. I could see him do well in San Antonio, Boston, Golden State, Indiana & others. Since 82 games a season is a lot more than 35/college, I'd play Zach the first 7/8 minutes of quarters 1-4, & if in the 4th qtr., you need him to win, slowly try playing him a little at the game's end/money time. Boiler up!!!

    Be honest Edey is not working hard enough on his game or on the court, he's relying too much on presence at the collegiate level. He needs way more to last in the league or to even make a real impression. It's why he returned to school.

      He has no business taking 3’s and midrange jump shots at his size and strength. He should become capable but even if guys back off daring him to shoot he should just eat the space up finish at the basket.
