    Saw them live and Sad But True was the encore. First, 6 of the 8 guys sing, so no layering was necessary. Second, the two drummers produced a wall of sound unto themselves. It was like a cannon blast to my chest. Long live The Hu!

      Yeah, we've had friends who saw them live and said the same thing about the drums. I get to see them in October, and I can't wait.

    The 2 stringed instruments are called Morin khuurs or horse head fiddles, the guitar is called a tovshuur. The first instrument they showed was a jaw harp.

      I don't know that I like the song better than the original, but it's really, really awesome. And I KNOW I like the video better than Metallica's. That video is just concert footage. Kinda boring. This video is badass! Thanks for checking this one out. Hit the subscribe button and stick around.

    When I'm in the studio I leave 98% of my imperfections in. Before I correct one I try and find a way to roll with it. Only maybe twice has something ever fucked up so bad I've had to rerecord something.

      I did a song for a play that was a simple Dave Matthews like acoustic song, got into the studio, one musician wasn't ready (teenager), one had a problem with a little glitch rhythm I threw into the chorus picking pattern, so I had to figure out how to work with a lot. What ended up happening was the song transformed into an almost goth metal piece done with one electric doing nothing more than strumming an open G chord and playing bell tones in between, two acoustics doubling a jazz triplet so it could be heard, and an acoustic, Spanish armada lead part that sounds like it would be horrible but it fucking worked epically. When I added the bass and we were done we were just like, yep. That's it

    I love how their culture reflected in their video. Rather than a story of addiction theirs is a story of a Diety(I'm ignorant to Mongolian beleifs) giving man all he needs, and yet greed caused him to destroy the world given to him. Another sad truth

    • @LikeMindedLunatics
      @LikeMindedLunatics  Рік тому +1

      Totally agree, and I think that's a testament to both groups of artists. Herfield wrote a song that's complex enough it can be reinterpreted in many different ways, and then The Hu taking that existing art and reworking to illustrate something about their culture.
