Love these musicians... both of them. They're great! Marcus has blown me away live; four times so far. And Drew's playing alongside Marcus... nice. Luckily, I got to see Drew's previous band several times before Bishop Gunn broke up. Loved the spicey slide he laid down for them. I'll never miss these guys live.
Love Marcus, he’s phenomenal and Drew with the slide adds another dimension. Drew is an awesome slide player, great solo on “Too Late”. They need to cut these songs acoustically. They sound great!
Marcus so proud of you , as much as I'm blessed by your music. I'm equally impressed by what a gentleman you are please stay humble . PLEASE !! Do an acoustic album.
I also appreciate the way if Playing of Marcus King and his Band on the vidéo "the Bonfire, Marcus King alive" vidéo of 20 September . Marcus and all his Friends Guitarists are Amazing , Géniaux in French , Brillants , Very Nice Moment . Hope I Can see them one Day in live !
i feel like this is what Shannon Hoon would have sounded like if he had a more technical approach to singing. Especially Dark Cloud. Sounds like Hoon singing southern soul blues
Luckily he's still touring with the Marcus King Band while promoting the Youngblood album. He said in an interview that he used a different rhythm section for "production reasons", whatever that maybe.
Are you serious... lol this album is amazing and amazing produced... Dan is the best producer of our generation... lol wow... absolutely insane how someone could even think that.. lol.. Every single song is pure blues rock goodness... geeeeez.. lol I doubt anyone else has even thought that.. just insane lol 😆
@@hunterwest54 No, he's right. I don't think the album is bad. It's great actually, but in it's tedious production they lose something that's essential to Marcus King's talent imo, and that's his sheer power live. That will never be able to be fully captured on a recording, but you can get a lot closer than they did with this album by simply micing the setup like you would a live show. Shit, or just record a live album. Who says a hit album has to be a studio recording? Live at the Fillmore is one of the best albums ever recorded.
Yes, I agree with Joe Vaper. Marcus is best with his own band. I even think Dan Auerbach production gets to be too much or adds too much onto Marcus's unique, real sound.
Drew Smithers previously in Bishop Gunn cut one of my all-time favorite albums, "Natchez". Likely to find yourself playing it alot if you check it out.
Any musician who can play an acoustic set like this .. and you don't even miss the rest of the band... Is truly an artist

Wow, Marcus is a rare talent!
"Let that boy boogie woogie." Lord have mercy! Obviously, Marcus is a born natural.
Marcus King and his father the real deal
Marcus could play with a stick and still rock your day away.
This kid is one in a million!
Man Drew and Marcus sound so good and Drew has gotten so good with the slide.
Thanks for the music and storytelling. Both touch my heart and soul. Perfection
Another hit I'm so handsome I should cry
Marcus King and Drew Smithers!! Hell ya. 🤗🎤🎸🎸🎶🎵🤘🔥🔥🔥
Awesome Marcus !! I always love your acoustic songs. Hell!! Everything you play is fantastic!! ❤
The solos are just godly.
He's crazy good..and my latest musical obsession. :) I thumbs up every Marcus King video.
The whole band is great live
Same. Came across him very recently, and cannot stop watching his videos

Beautiful.
This guy is just so good! 👍👌🙏
Just an amazingly talented guy.
Gifted. Not to be confused with merely talented.
There’s no way that you can “learn” that at his age.
@@MrJc7998 of course you can
Great set! To hear these acoustic is just WOW!!! Dark Cloud and Lie, Lie, Lie are my new fav's off this album

Any day that ends in a "Y"
why not feel good playing music!
Amazingly beautiful!
This guys are awesome. South Carolina is in the house!
Marcus is on absolute fire with the six strings these days. The Josh Allen, Mahomes, and Burrow all in one of guitar right now....
Too bad he’s not being paid billions like those fellas you’ve mentioned there…..
Marcus so proud of you , as much as I'm blessed by your music. I'm equally impressed by what a gentleman you are please stay humble . PLEASE !! Do an acoustic album.
So glad I found this dude
Really great session super tune! Thanks for share.
Love the Marcus King Drew Smithers incarnation of this band. More please.

Marcus is awesome, but he needs a bigger cowboy hat :)
Cant touch that An anthem
These songs are great and the guitar playing mesmerizing. The simplicity is nice. …but I do miss the old band.
Luckily he's still touring with the Marcus King Band while promoting the Youngblood album. He said in an interview that he used a different rhythm section for "production reasons", whatever that maybe.
So much better then the "produced to death" Album Version. Marcus is so much better without Dan Auerbach...
The album is amazing, I have no clue what you are complaining about.
I feel the same way about any album Dave Cobb has ever produced.

Wtf just happen WOW
Is that Dickie Betts son with him?
That's Drew Smithers. He used to be in the band Bishop Gunn before they went on hiatus. Now he plays with The Marcus King Band.
Drew Smithers previously in Bishop Gunn cut one of my all-time favorite albums, "Natchez". Likely to find yourself playing it alot if you check it out.
Seems like the Tune has Jim Croce influence
These chicks are good
Straight gunslinger right here folks
