  • It's time for a look at my daily driver dashboard that I use to monitor and control my smart home. I show some of the smart home tech I use to power my smart home.

Great Video, don't worry about making them short, take as much time as needed to cover the topic. Any more detail you want to provide about your dashboard is welcome, gives us all ideas.

Great video Chris. Any chance you can share how you create those small temp displays on your dashboard? Yaml or links to how to achieve that would be appreciated. Thanks!

Hi Chris, Great video! Always enjoy these types of videos. Gives me ideas and gets me motivated. I am in the process of converting all my devices from a Insteon based system to an Aqara/Zigbee and Home Assistant system. It has been going smoothly so far. I now have converted 32 devices to Aqara and a bunch more to do. I like the Dashboard style you have so as soon as I can figure how to start this Dashboard project, I will dig in. Merry Christmas, ahhhh I am getting a 3D printer from Santa this year. Wife is cringing.

Awesome setup! I'll have to do the frigate birdseye on the dash card like you did. A quick note on the Sonoff S31lite. I had to move those to their own zigbee coordinator to not have the aqara devices use them as a router. My aqara motions and TVOC sensor just straight up quit working as soon as they try routing via the S31Lite.

Thanks for the video. Could you share the link for the scene controller?

Chris, can you share what weather conditions card you’re using? I’ve tried to find it somewhere but not having any luck?! Thanks for all the helpful videos, definitely learned a lot from you!

Thank you Chris nice video. On your Aqara sensors, do you use their hub or are you directly hooked to HA?

Maybe the conditional card creates an empty space because it's in a grid card. The grid stays even if the card in it is hidden.. just a thought..

Hey Chris, curious what card you use for the Temperature readouts? The ones that look like filled bar charts. Is that Custom Button Card, or maybe the custom 'bar-card'? Can you share the YAML for them?

Good stuff! Have you considered making a video of your homelab setup?

If it were worth the time. Mine is minimal compared to some I've seen and I feel it would be a disappointment.

@@mostlychrisI think sometimes it is helpful to see not so elaborate homelabs. Mine is a PC with dual monitors. One of my monitors is ten years old sitting on an IKEA desk.

I love Z-wave but can't seem to bite the bullet for cost reasons. I am puzzled I see the GE Z-wave light switch for $110 is that a pack?

Nice and good video. You are breaking every rule concerning usable GUI’s. Way too many items to monitor and look at. Simple is better and actually more useable. But, if it works for you, so be it. Still, nice tech and methods that you have developed.

I've heard that before. It's like flying a glass cockpit airplane (sort of). If it's all green, then it is good. I use colors on the dashboard to highlight when things are out of the norm. That helps keep information overload to a minimum. The dashboard on my phone only has the essentials so that probably more mirrors a usable GUI.
