This is the only instance of Rogue ever being a Southern belle in media besides adaptations that were specifically using this version like the MVC games. Rogue in the main comics has always been a more serious goth like character. No Southern accent whatsoever.

Hey, the goth girl Rogue was awesome, and in my opinion, probably my favorite interpretation of Rouge.
I like that Rogue is wearing the same minidress that she wore in the OG series' pilot. 😄
I liked how they kept some of the clothes. Like Jean blue long sleeve shirt, or Storms pajama dress was the design for one of her shirts under her jacket. I love the nods to the OG show

@@louthegiantcookie marvel did try to make things shitty for the x-men a couple of years back because of fox , i love that fans were vocal about it and they gave up ruining the x-men. i mean come on x-men has the most memorable casts x-men and spiderman both kept marvel afloat during the late 80s , 90s to the early 00s.

For the longest time I just had like a passing knowledge of Rogue from the comics, and didn’t really imagine her having a southern accent. So when I first heard her voice in the cartoon I was very surprised yet delighted.
rogue is a great character. too bad marvel literally had gone and beyond to erase her and the x-men as a whole just because they couldn't get the rights back from fox.
the southern accent was fairly new, it was only in the 90s when they gave her a background story and not just mystique's former henchman.

people forgot that rogue was once a villain as well. and almost killed miss.marvel and soloed the entire avengers. i like that magneto and rogue has these moments in the new series , they rarely or possibly never did interact much in the original.

For context, I have never been an X-men fan before. I watched the movie as a kid and didn't like it, so I always kinda brushed them aside (I always preferred the Avengers because of the MCU, back when it was good. Only now, as a teenager, I sat down to watch these two episodes that came out and I AM OBSESSED. I NEED MORE, I NEED CONTENT!!!
Credit goes to X men 1992 and comics. I finished the X-Men 1992 in 3 days and it was worth it. Kind of gave off spiderman tas vibes. It's a nostalgic show for most 80s and 90s kids too.
