there's 40 milllion bicycles in the US, and the 3200 miles across the US has been crossed in 8 days on a bicycle, many times. Any fit man can do it in a month. You're not NEARLY as "remote' as you THINK you are.
400 miles a day. On a bike. Takes me 6 hours in a car going 75 mph to do that. Even at 20mph that would mean you're riding a bike for 18 hours a day going that fast the whole time.
@@stevang4720 google says that on the flats, top racers can maintain 25mph. I bet it was done on methamphetamine and sedatives. The most sleep you could average would be 6 hours and that would be IF you could fall out right away and sleep all thru the night You'd have to be really fit right from the start. However, if it's shtf, there's no time frame. Nobody has to go all the way across the US. Anyone who's fit can average pedaling 100 miles per day, no big deal at all and they probably dont have to go more than 100 miles. On pavement, they can be towing 50 lbs of food in a trailer. as well as baskets on his fenders, and a pack on one's back. You need 2-3 lbs of food per day, working that hard, to not lose weight.
not only do you need more than guns, you need your other stuff scatter-buried at your BOL, which has to be in t he woods around your local water source. Nobody's going anywhere by 4 wheels or on the roads, cause they''ll be full of ambushes. it will be YeARS before socitety recovers from shtf, if they ever do and no raider can stay where he starts. He'll soon run out of victims and have to move on. Also, he'll have to join a marauder group to keep being successful.

i live just half a mile from one of the fences of one of the largest military bases in the US. It's 100 sq miles of brush, low mountains, lakes. As the crow flies,, I'm 10 miles from one of the largest wildlife preserves in the US. I can be thru that fence with a vehicle. in a couple of minutes and I cant get to it in a couple of minutes, or I can walk beside a laden bicycle and get to that fence in 10 minutes, and get thru it in one minute. People, including you, "think" that somehow, cops and troops can work for free, that they've got months worth of fuel and food stockpiled. etc, they do not. The bases will fill up with bigwigs who will want the military to priortize their protection and health. The troops can't work for free. Nobody will be protecting their famlities as they try to do so. So the troops, most of them, will have no choice but to desert and go try to fend for their loved ones.
