Hi John, You are quite right, it was me who suggested you should try "The Impossible Dream". Your voice suits a wide range of musical genres but I really do think that musical theatre compositions are particularly suited. you have already proved this with your posts of "I Dreamed a Dream" and "Stars" from Les Miserables. This was your first time singing this and if you are happy to take some advice, it needs to be a little faster. If you search on UA-cam for Richard and Adam (Britain's Got Talent), the pace should be more like that. Thanks you for taking up my challenge. You really can hold a note, I sense you have great future in music. Well Done !!

Just for fun, I checked to see how long some performances of "Impossible Dream" were. They were:
Richard & Adam (BGT): 2:18
Elvis: 3:01
John Standley: 3:26
Theater performance (play): 3:48
Josh Groban: 4:04
So we can see that there are many ways to interpret this song.
Another uncontrollable factor is that John was constrained to follow the pace of the music, which he couldn't have anticipated, and controlled.
I wonder what his thoughts are on this. :o)

@@johnstandleymusic In fairness, your delivery of this song was governed by the tempo of the music. I really had to laugh at your comment about your dark socks. It does go to show that you remembered what i had said about the importance of your stage image, which I have to say is really immaculate. I really love watching and listening to you John, do post some more.
