After stellar performances on hit TV shows like St. Elsewhere, Chicago Hope, and NCIS, Mark Harmon quickly became one of Hollywood’s leading men, and a darling of the fans of all his shows. However, after a long 19-season run as the beloved Leroy Jethro Gibbs on NCIS, Mark suddenly called it quits on the show, leaving fans and viewers confused with his sudden exit.
Several years after his shocking decision to leave NCIS, Mark has finally revealed the real reason why he was forced off the show despite being a beloved character. Stick around as we get right into it.

My favorites are Gibbs,Tony, McGee ,,Ziva , Ducky and Jimmy ! I have been a fan since NCIS came on the air !!! I have never missed an episode. I even watch the reruns on a different channel. I LOVE this show. I like the interactions of the characters. The dialogue is very witty and fat passed. You have to pay attention or you miss out .

It was always a favorite show with twists and turns and yet the actors pretty much seemed relaxed and compatible for each other capable of exemplifying each other's talents.
I miss the Ziva-isms. Really loved Gibbs, Ziva, Tony, McGee Jenny, Frank,Ducky and Abby
Loved this show also liked NCIS New Orleans. One great show. Without Gibbs , don't watch as often, still a good show.
Always like the show, was sad when Gibbs left, looking forward to the hope of his return in this coming season.

He did a perfect job with his role. Almost like a father. Stern yet loving.
Even though we've adjusted to the new characters, Gibs will always be the best. But it was also Tim and Zida, Ducky and Abby that made the show. Which each one leaving it made the show hard to watch. No one can ever take their places.
I look forward to the works of Gibbs coming back.

I was a huge fan of NCIS. I diid stop watching when Mark Harmon left. I am intrigued about a new show might resurface characters that have left. Like everyone else I would look forward to seeing characters Gibbs, Tony, McGee and Ziva and Abby back together again. I agree that Pam Dauber made a great entry into that program and I would enjoy seeing her involved as well.
My favorite character of ncis, is pauley perrette( abby), she will always be in my thoughts and heart, I loved her attitude and character, she was and is forever always in my heart❤❤

Gibbs will always be my favorite. Heard there is another series coming out with Tony and Ziva. Now that excites me, I love them together, and to see them together again and continue their story line is awesome!
My husband was a Navy man who died in February 2003. When NCIS began, I watched it to capture my husband's naval career and I've never quit. Then I watched NCIS LA and NCIS New Orleans. I never got into NCIS Hawaii after the gay characters were introduced. I also never got into NCIS Australia b/c their accents didn't relate well with my hearing problem. I'm so looking forward to the new NCIS coming out soon.

I like Parker and it was so good to see Fernell on a recent episode but the aGibbs character was such a major part of the show i do wish there was a way to bring Gibbs Tony Ziva back and selfishly id love to see Abby back even if it was just to say good bye to Ducky. When Tony came to Jimmy in the Lab i was so sure he was just in jimmys imagination but then Tim came in and they all went to Duckys memorial. Its hard to put into words how much of an impact a tv show has on your life over a couple decades. I first experianced it when Mash ended it was like a good friend dying or moving away i know thats kind of korny but it is how it felt.
I saw him first in 240-Robert in 1979 and knew then that he’d be a major star. LOVED him in Reasonable Doubts! He broke my heart in West Wing.
Nowadays I only watch the episodes with Gibbs in.

I still love the show but I miss Gibbs every single episode. I find myself thinking about what Gibbs would say or do in any given situation. He made the show what it is and even in his absence we still think of him and wait for him.
I’ve watched every episode of NCIS❤. Every character is sooo well casted. I miss all of characters that have left the show. Every episode is satisfying to watch, it’s easy to get lost in the storyline. Well done to everyone involved 👏🏼.
I love Gibbs. He gets the job done and makes his team crazy. Tony is so funny. Those two are so funny together. We want the real Gibbs back please. This is my favorite show. I got Netflix just to watch earlier shows. Now I read they are going to delete them. Glad to have you back ❤❤❤.
Gibbs is NNCIS Its not the same.
Everybody needs to understand that if an actor or actress plays a role for a long time they sometimes gets stereotyped into that role only ! This isn't just children into acting it happens to a lot of them ! When that happens they either burnt out in playing that role or they try to get parts in areas of acting but cannot because of being stereotyped in their old role !
I loved this show and like many others keep watching it over and over. Can’t help loving Jethro the best. Also Tony real nice to look at and also a very good actor.

I love NCIS. It definitely has a place in this Navy vets heart. I watch and rewatch the past shows. Of course, Gibbs is my favorite character. He always stressed honoring military members.
GIbbs is my favorite because he did not settle for nothing ut the real truth. on the outside he was Old school tough yet on the inside he had a soft and caring hart.
Abby and Gabe bbs were my very favorites, and it's always a delight to watch the old reruns.
Although I really wasn't crazy about Ziva at first, she somehow grew on me. Miss her, too

Gibbs IS a MARINE FOR LIFE, central to NCIS series for years. The flashbacks of 'his' service in the Marine Corps as a Gunny were well done. Enjoyed the series for years...a big BRAVO-ZULU to "Gunny" and the entire cast. And yes...bring back Ziva!

We absolutely loved this show with Mark Harmon and Michael Weatherly. I understand doing something different, but I don't care to watch the show anymore. My husband still likes it though. He'll be excited to learn about NCIS Origins.

I was hoping the original team during the Ducky Funeral's episode. Not only Dinozzo but the spl Abby Schuto, Beautiful Ziva & the great L J Gibbs . Eagerly waiting for this team to see back.

Jethro Gibbs. Heart felt firm but always had a solution to a life problem that helped so many fellow characters. More than a “boss”.
I've been a fan of Mark Harmon for many years. I loved watching him as Gibbs on NCIS & hated to see him leave. However, it was noticeably obvious that Gibbs was tired. The secrets of his past & his broken heart from the loves of his life, Shannon & Kelly wasn't healing. He needed the solitude & time away to reflect, forgive & renew his life. However, i can't image Mark as another character than Gibbs on NCIS.
I thought he would return for Duckie’s service

Considering the retirement age at the real NCIS is 57 then being 72 it's probably time to go or order up a walker. Of course David McCallum was 90 but really didn't look it.

As a fan from the start, I found it very disappointing that Gibbs and Abby didn't make an appearance in episode, The Stories We Leave Behind, as DiNozzo did to attend Ducky’s funeral. I suppose if Ducky had left the show by choice, that would be one thing, but since he also pass-away in real life….the excuse of scheduling and budgets…be damned!! My fondness for the actors, not the characters, has declined.
I’m so far behind because I stopped watching after Tony left, but I realize I need to get back into it😊😊

Yes, the team of Gibbs, Dinozzo, Tim, Ziva was great; however, Torres, and new guy have grown on me, as well. Gibbs is the leader of the pack (family). Everyone turns to him as a Father, Elder, etc. and I like that. He takes care of each and everyone. Look forward to Origins, but doesn't his son need to be the new, young Gibbs, as in previous takes? Gibbs is ICONIC and look forward to seeing him!

Broke my heart when he left. Its not the same anymore but I still do watch. I didn't think it right that Gibbs wasn't there. I love DiNozzo but it should have been Gibbs. Not sure about Origins, I'd rather have Gibbs back in NCIS.

Mark really gave this show a unique personality. The addition of Jessica with her gravelly voice was a flaw in the series, I had to plug my ears when she spoke.
Love the series...have watched from the beginning ! Favorites from the shows are Tony, Ziva, Ducky, and the later shows… Jessica Knight and Nic Torres. I enjoy the character development and the unique way the characters interact while solving the latest crime. The writers should be commended for the cutting edge topics and their abilities to keep us coming back for more each week. 28:41 28:41
