وصل عدد الأطفال النازحين بسبب الحرب في السودان إلى أكثر من مليون طفل فيما قُتل أكثر من 330 طفلا وأصيب 1900 على الأقل بجراح وفق تقارير موثوقة تلقتها منظمة اليونيسف.

أعربت اليونيسف عن القلق بشكل خاص بشأن الوضع في دارفور. وقالت إن انقطاع الاتصالات المستمر والقيود المفروضة على الوصول تؤدي إلى محدودية المعلومات الموثقة حول الوضع.
ويُقدر أن حوالي 5.6 مليون طفل يعيشون في ولايات دارفور، ومن المقدر أن نحو 270 ألف طفل نزحوا حديثا بسبب القتال حتى الآن.
"إن مستقبل السودان في خطر، ولا يمكننا قبول استمرار فقدان ومعاناة أطفاله. يعيش الأطفال في كابوس لا ينتهي، يحملون العبء الأكبر لأزمة عنيفة لم يكن لهم يد في صنعها - يقعون في مرمى النيران، يتعرضون للإصابة والإساءة والنزوح والأمراض وسوء التغذية".

🦋 ‘Knowing One Another’ is the piece I chose to open the ‘Beyond the Stars’ concert at the Expo 2020 Dubai. Composed and arranged for the musicians I had assembled for the performance, the music evokes the anticipation of travellers setting out on a journey full of the promise of discovery. From Tayyar Bayramov’s mesmerising mugham solo to the compelling rhythms and melodies performed brilliantly on traditional instruments, my aim was to paint a sound portrait of the ways we come to know one another through our music. Deep thanks to all the musicians who shared their stories and skill, and who set out on this journey with me. -Sami Yusuf
