If GM would simply add (like back in the day) access panels for fuel pumps and heater cores people might be more willing to buy their cars again. Just saying... Amazing how much effort they (GM) have made to ensure everyone needs to go to a "shop" to replace easy parts like back in the good ole days. Great video. It's very labor intensive and certainly not a weekend warrior's ability (lift, trans jack stands, etc...). A simple cut access panel will do the trick - quicker and more efficient.

You can also unscrew the bolts from the driver's side holding the bed on and only loosen on the passenger side then hinge the bed. A 2x4 cut to size will work great to hold it up. Imo this is easier than dropping the tank.

I'll be doing this on a Tahoe, I might as well change the whole fuel pump.

On my base 1600 Siverado, I can reach over the frame rail & get to the sensor without taking anything else loose. Maybe I just got lucky... this time!

So you just pull off the connector, pry off the old sensor, put new one in, reattach the connector and your good?

$715, if everything goes well. I just got an estimate today. $1,600 if things don’t go well - break fuel lines when they lower the tank. Lots of labor.

I have the same code on my 2001 GMC Sierra 1500 sl W/4.8L V-8... When I bought it, on day 1 I had the code read and was recommended to get a new gas cap. I was told that that should solve the issue.... Bought a new cap and nothing changed whatsoever.... Now I have to run the hawg through D.E.Q. and that code is causing me to fail immediately... Not sure where to go from there?.... ANY ADVICE ANYONE??? Will I have to drop the fuel tank in my rig also? OR will this be accessible in my rig without having to drop the fuel tank?

Try getting that bolt off the strap on a Chevy Express Van if the nut spins. There is zero access to it.

I have a 2002 Silverado with the 8100 vortec. The fuel pressure sensor is not on top of the fuel pump like in your video. Searched entire top of tank and there is no fuel pressure sensor that I can see. Do you have an idea of where else it might be???

It's on top of the secondary tank under your spare tire. I had the same problem, discovered it after I cut an access hole in rear seat floorboard to get to the fuel pump and NO DANG SENSOR there.
