The Mercedes F1 team of today was originally Ken Tyrell's team from the 1960s based in Brackley, so including the company's original run in the sport as part of their history due to having the same name is something a casual/zoomer F1 fan would do, much like considering the Lotus team of the 2010s as the same team as Colin Chapman's.
Statistically they might be the most dominant f1 team ever. They were dominant in 1954,1955 despite their first years in the sport and have won a record 8 consecutive constructors' championships. In these 14 years they only had two bad years (2010,2011). Its remarkable to even think about.
