Almost left without thanking you. I was under the impression you had to pay $150 USD for the update period. Glad I got the features I was looking for without having to pay anything. New integrations look amazing!
Thank you, I appreciate this so much. I agree: it's easy to think that it's a paid upgrade… but I am still grateful that they decided to make it free so that Ninja V owners (etc) can get the compatibility upgrades for new camera models and the upgraded interface. Happy filming 👍
I have been unsuccessful trying to upgrade to this firmware. I have three Ninja V’s and none of them installed the firmware. I unzipped the file and placed it in the root directory. I even tried using a file I unzipped from a Mac. It is really not a big deal. I also have an X Cast that I was trying to use for streaming. I did a lot of streaming during Covid but I haven’t done any for quite a while.
Not sure what is going on there. I have updated my Ninja V a few times since AtomOS 11 was released, and it works every time. You can actually do both: place the file directly on the SSD and start the Ninja with it inside, or push it in when the Ninja is already started (and it will ask you to update). One critical thing: you have to make sure to download the right file from the Atomos firmware page. The Ninja will not recognize the firmware update that is meant for another device. You specifically have to download the Ninja V or Ninja V+ or whatever exact model you have file!
The "Feature Pack" and the AtomOS11 Upgrade are two separate things. As stated in the video: you can do the AtomOS11 upgrade for free. But the features in the "Feature Pack" come at a price.
You can just double-click the file, and it will automatically be unzipped by macOS. Or open it with the `Archive Utility` which is standard on any macOS machine.
Nice quality and low views.... The main question that I missed, is it DOWNgradable or working one way? I'm usually staying away from updates if not really nessesary
I have not tried or looked into down grading this. Maybe the info is on their website / in the faq or pdf read me. But so far I am very happy with the update and everything works solid.
x265 is not part of the free AtomOS 11. You, however, now can get x265 in the bundle, which is the AtomOS 11 Feature Pack upgrade (and cheaper than the individual x265 codec license).

Is it possible to blank out all the icons around the edge of the Ninja V+ display so that you have a field monitor with a blank screen?
Touch the center of the screen should toggle the top bar off, then again, the bottom should be gone, and then third time all comes back.
@@ChrisSpiegl that sounds so good I’m going to try it straight away 👏
Do you still use walking pad at working time?
While traveling, I sadly can’t have it with me. But to be honest: it’s one of the things I miss most about having a permanent office.
I may have missed something but when I go on the Atomos site it suggests I pay $199 for the upgrade to OS11 Features pack - it isn't free?

@@ChrisSpiegl thanks I see that now, I was a bit unsure about updating the OS away from the “my product”s page but it worked fine
10:13 how do make finder show the content of the zip file? thanks in advance 🙏🏻
You can just double-click the file, and it will automatically be unzipped by macOS. Or open it with the `Archive Utility` which is standard on any macOS machine.
@@ChrisSpiegl thanks but what i mean is seeing the content inside the Finder window like you did in the video

There is no way back to OS10 - stated on the site.
Does the upgrade give free x265 on the atomos ninja v or is that still a separate purchase ?

I wonder if DJI RS2 and RS3 record button finally works with this update or not :D
Sorry, I don't have the RS2 or RS3 and can't give you that answer. Maybe the support team at Atomos can help you.
Nice🎉Thank You
Welcome 😊.
Thanks for th video
My pleasure
