The rules system is the same as the existing Strontium Dog game more or less, so crossovers abound! (Johnny Alpha & Wulf have appeared in Mega City One through time travel).

I had heard that, but have never played the SD game so it's good to hear it confirmed.

The soft-cover rulebook is the standard one; there was a hard-cover version available for the early pre-orders for an extra £50 or so, but it is no longer available to pre-order.

I haven't seen a lot of info on the game so the following may already be common knowledge...
I downloaded the "Free Rules Primer" and after going through it I'd have to say it looks like an almost direct port from the Mongoose JD game from around 2012. I looked at the stats from the Street Judge from the Primer and from the Mongoose JD and with only a couple very minor differences they are identical. Even the points costs are identical.
This is NOT a complaint! I rather liked the Mongoose system. A big plus is it will help me use my existing models, such as the Ape Gang, that don't seem to out yet (or to be released in the near future).

Cheers Tim, tbf I didn't scrutinise the Mongoose rules as closely as you, these seem a little slicker over all though. Maybe it's the change in the printed dice that turned my head. I also have quite a collection of the old JD miniatures, so I will be using those in this game as well!

Although yours was a good video, I find the game just sounds a bit bland.
It's not really a Judge Dredd game surely, it's just a shooting game with a JD paint job. Where's the investigation side, the politics and the narrative.
To be honest, an infinitely better JD game would be Pulp Alley which can include shoot em ups but also has equally compelling scenarios where no fighting at all takes place.
I'll grant you I'm judging this without having played the game but although I love the setting, meh is my main impression unfortunately... please tell me if I've missed something.

I don't think you've missed something, and to an extent I agree that this is a shoot em up. The problem with a miniatures game is there's not a great deal of scope beyond the gun fight (I've heard good things about Pulp Alley before though). The campaign has more to do with arresting and sentencing, which adds another dimension. One way of using the game (and minis) would be to play the JD roleplaying game for the bigger picture then switch to this for some of the encounters? For me, anything with a JD skin is always going to turn my head!

@@StormofSteelWargaming I definitely recommend you check out Pulp Alley. They've loads of videos on here where you can see it in action.
It adds do much more than a mere gun fight.
I too love me some JD but if it's just shooting then meh.

@@dancingpotplant on that recommendation, I certainly will! Maybe the two games can be merged together.
