Got the same color, the 2017 FZ-09 is amazing. The instant torque just punches forward with no effort, the bike freaking rips! You can't help but smile when cracking open the throttle and hearing that triple growl. Also, I feel like the brakes are awsome but I am coming off a 250 dual sport with shitty brakes lol
Same bike, same color! I have almost 1000 mi on mine since getting it a month ago. I went with the TST fender eliminator kit and the smoked, intergrated taillight. I also added Womet-Tech brake and clutch levers. I don't have any bad vibes, but my throttle hand is going numb a lot also. Still working on getting over that.
While I don’t own the fz09, I’ve had many Yamaha’s and always thought they missed the mark with those turn signals. They always took away from the bike. That being said, if you plan on changing them out like you said, check out stock fz10 signals. They nailed it with those. They look SO good. Check the forum for a used set, that way you keep the OEM quality but change the look 100%.
Got the same bike with 3500 miles no issues except night riding headlights sucks and used Yoshimura fender kit; acceleration handling and breaking are all very good for my 160 pounds !
You should check your throttle bodies and check if they are in sync if they aren’t they will cause vibration, I have an 17’ FZ-09 as well and even though vibrations can be somewhat subjective I do not get any vibration at all thru the handlebars
Im picking my FZ09 2017 in 15 days. Cant wait, same color as yours. I have a questions about your comment about the headlight, what is the issue with them? The beam is not wide enough to project in front to the bike? Does it need a wide fog style beam? Or its the range? I thinking of getting the light bracket and a PIAA RF 10" lightbar
All stock fenders = DOT compliant. Regardless of how stupid, hideous, nasty, or awful, a solid and permanent piece has to reach the rear edge of the rear tire as a matter of motorcycle compliance. It's really bad since subframes have shortened rear seats to absolute minimums compared to 90's sportbikes. Signals? More compliance issues. Signals have to be a certain physical size (lighted surface area) according to DOT standards. Yamaha just keeps putting those floppy dog ear stalks on the bikes because they meet DOT requirements and don't cost them much to produce. It is what it is. It is bad, but it still is.
Go with akropovic there material is the best with the best build quality, great sound, looks good, and it give you the BEST preformance. Only down side is your paying a little more to get that.
Where in PA are ya? I’m in Riverside :) ya know I thought about getting this bike but it’s mostly flat farm land around here (some twisties) still worth getting ? I keep thinking cruiser...but I don’t know....I found a brand new 2016 MT09/FZ09 for 6698 almost left home with it.
Pittsburgh Area. I think it all depends on the type of bike you are comfortable on. Cruisers are some of the most comfortable to ride but sport bikes (to include naked bikes) are the most fun for myself! I would have bought it for that price! lol
I actually like the turn signals for the most part as I haven't really seen better looking ones yet. I ordered the comfort seat, but I'm planning on getting the Yamaha windscreen and maybe the quick shifter.
Let me know that EVERYONE KNOWS WHY TURN SIGNAL HAVE GOVE IN THEM RIGHT? So they can give some and not constantly break off. I swear people’s always talk about how flexible thy are, like there cheap? Wise up , they give on purpose. Damn
planning to get one of these bad boys by the end of the year. rode it at a yamaha event this weekend and can't wait to have my own. btw check out the turn signals this guy has ua-cam.com/video/a9B-7HB4XM8/v-deo.html a bit small but looks like they can get the job done.
You say the handlebars put your hands to sleep but then you say you want lower handlebars? Try flexing your abs and squeezing the tank with your legs while you ride.
Yes, that’s correct. I do all of the above when I ride. Flexing abs and squeezing tank helps more with the seat that anything else. I want lower bars to change the seating position a bit, that’s all. Heavier bar ends help with the vibration.
Maybe bar height is fine, but having them positioned further forward would be better. Higher bars does give a rider much better leverage over turning, because steering axis is closer to a right-angle with one's shoulders.

Great video. This video made the decision to get or not get the mt09 a little easier. I bought a 2019 today . Cant wait to ride.

Pure Pittsburgh accent.

Emptystreetsrule Compared to my Drz, the bike is butter smooth.

Other than straight highway or freeway, you can't go wrong with the FZ!
Maybe grip puppies would help with the vibrations. I like em
