The film you removed was the original polarizing film--evidenced by the fact that once removed, you could not read the LCD until you placed a new polarizing film on it. The UV filtering is likely on the clear plastic cover that is a separate piece from the LCD assembly. THIS IS A GREAT MOD! THANKS!
Exactly what I needed. Thank you so much. I'm going to buy me a MT09 soon. Was about to get the SP, but I don't like the color of the bike. So I buy a MT09 and switch the suspension to oehlins. I had no idea how to get my hands on a SP look-a-like LCD. Now I can build it my own. Top notch!
Can't imagine it would be worth upgrading a standard bike. Just get the sp and a fairing kit worst case is you have to wrap the tank. Still easier than replacing suspension.
man...you are a legend..! thats a lot of hardwork and hardware thing to do...needs courage and patience to do these on premium bikes (because no owner would risk himself on doing all this) ! ..............I love the MT-09 and i was just seeing some random videos but this one showed the real dedication and hardwork behind DIY category. I would say 'you are the right man for the right job ' . Love from India !
Bloody legend, was contemplating puling the trigger on a SP dash for $700AUD. now i can do it for less than a 10% of that price. Im also planning on changing the smd LEDS to custom colors while im there. Cheers mate!
@@rich.dodd1 sure did son. The color changed as my personal preference. white high beam, traction and ABS, blue QS and Blinkers, red oil, temp and engine fault, left neutral green.
Those tires haven't worn well at all. I check pressure often but they still didn't hold up. I have replcements ready to install. Should be doing that in the next week or so.
the MT09SP has a way better dash, so much easier to read...even the camera picked that up...great mod...up there with one of the best...now everyone can have that SP inverted display... I own an SP so no need for me.. but I have mates with a stock models so they will be very interested
Sweet I was just looking on the forum to see if this was possible. My question is, how well does it look in the sunlight, can you see the numbers better now?
@@MotoSouth I think the SP screen ( same as your mod) is easier to read in direct sunshine..I've been on both bikes and the SP screen (inverted one) is a clear standout
My bike gets a lot of sunlight at work. Will not having that uv screen be a problem or will the polarized one do the same thing and flip the display? Awesome mod and video.
Great job as usual, I would be a little scared to mess around with the LCD but you made it look so easy! Have you changed the settings of your suspensions by any chance? would you be able to make a video about it? Cheers!

Curious how it would look like at night, and out riding in the sun. Could you make a video of that too. Been jealous of the dash on the SP, definitely wanna try this out!
It's awesome at night and not really any better or worse in bright daylight. They do make the same film in a matte finish to cut down on glare but I'm not sure if it would help much since the LCD cover is glassy. I'll try to get a video showing the two scenarios you asked about. Thanks for watching
Excellent video. Excellent mod! Have you or anyone on UA-cam found a way to swap out this dinky instrument cluster with a cluster from another bike? Such as one from an older R1 with an analog tachometer and digital speedo?
Interesting and impressive video but how is that better than the original ? If the bike came with dark display people would be switching it to light display just to do something to their bikes.

This is a great option for us USA owners. I've
always liked the way the SP dash looked compared to the stock MT-09 one.
I agree. Looks so much better. Even with the key off, the blacked out look matches better with the rest of the bike.
Sent me link to buy the filer
Thank you for blessing us with this video. 👍
Will this work with any LCD? Does the polarized sheet need to be anything specific?
Just wanted to leave a comment here saying you are the inspiration of me doing my conversion.. It gave me a lot of confidence! Thanks!

I just did the same LCD flip. Only took 35 minutes. Great video and thanks a lot!!!
Awesome! It's so easy and make a huge difference
MotoSouth Absolutely, although the peeling part was super sketchy lol You have an Instagram? I’ll shoot you the before and after. Thanks again!

This is brilliant dude. I love how you can even rotate the filter to a colour of your choice too. Thanks for this.
You sir, are a hero 🤩
Hai cabul
That’s really cool, would make night riding much more comfortable on the eyes. That stock setup is blinding
easier to read in direct sunshine too
You can adjust the brightness
Great video, I already have the SP version so I don't need to do this mod but I think you've made a lot of 09 owners day.
Awesome tutorial as always! Not sure why this isn’t more popular. I drive at night a lot and will benefit immensely from this. Keep up the good work
Thanks for watching 👍

Did you ever change the leds? If so what colour did you use? Surely changing indicator, battery and oil would confuse you??

I just saw and like all your videos. Really easy to fallow
I just bought 2 days ago a 2019 MT-09 and I look forward to do same of your mods
Hope to have more coming soon. Thanks for watching
Thanks for replying I actually have a question..
What kind of tools should I get to work on the MT-09?
@@stevenherrera9161 basic set of metric wrenches, sockets, and allens should be fine for most tasks. An oil filter wrench is helpful as well.
MotoSouth thank you! I really appreciate you spending the time to reply!
Wow,the "blue" sure looks nice doesnt it.My 2017 FZ-09 is red but I really like the look of "blue" though,I will see. TY for this product.
This trick is so awsome, i ordere my sheet and it came in today. Changed it up right away and it looks amazing!!! Thnx for the video
Awesome! Thanks for watching!
Great video man. This will be my weekend project. Thank you very much.
Who ever thought of differentiating the sp with the black dash was probably so hype when he tried this out.
That’s so awesome. You got balls buddy and talent. Thank you for the tutorial. You’re the best.
Nice! Would be nice to post an update after 6 months, to see how it holds up!
Shoutout from the Yamaha hypernakeds group lol! Great job bro!
Thanks for watching 👍
I absolutely love your content. You’ve helped a lot with my 2019 09 customizations!
Excellent video. Succinct and comprehensive. I only wish Colorclusterz would have provided more specs on their product.
This video make my day! I can do that myself and also I know how those displays work now!! Thank you so much!
Awesome how to video. Like many have already said, I wondered how to get that euro SP dash look. Ordered up via your link. Good job! 🤙🏽
Thanks for watching
Good job. It's looks like display from MT-09 SP.
Very neatly done. Nice video. Thanks. Look forward to your future mods on the bike. Cheers!
Wish my FZ-10 display was that easy to remove, awesome video though, thanks
Awesome video. I wanted the sp gauge and this is a great way to get it for a fraction of the cost.
Great stuff just ordered some film will get the yellow/gold look on mine ! Thanks for the vid and link !
That sounds interesting
This channel is awesome! First one I've seen of the technical of replacing parts, etc! You earned a subscriber!
Ohh yes.. Very good indeed
Some crazy flat spot on that front tire though dude
Those tires haven't worn well at all. I check pressure often but they still didn't hold up. I have replcements ready to install. Should be doing that in the next week or so.
You’ve been killing it with these videos! Amazing production quality, concise and thorough instructions. Definitely worth the sub!
Thank you!
Dude you make it look so easy! Will be trying this soon but I can hardly do a phone screen protector let alone a bike dash 😂
Take your time and it will come out great. Thanks for watching
MotoSouth hopefully dude, just looked you up on IG 👌
Great video i would love to do my own 2019 Mt09 but im not even good at putting on a screen savers for my cell phone.
Me too
im just gonna send it tbh, wish me luck! lol
Love your informative videos man! Very easy to understand even for complete dumbasses like me
Nice work man. This looks awesome!
Thank you. It was super easy too. 👍

Awesome mod. On the To Do list now 😎
Badass flip. Recommending to a friend!
holy isht youre a genius are you an engineer?
Nope. Just do a lot of research 👍
Very nice, very helpful. You explained everything. Thanks so much.
Great video, will definitely have to do this upgrade
Thanks for this step by step tutorial! Was looking for this video a long time!
deu um enorme de serviço para fazer, mas ficou muito espetacular o painel.
great video man .really detailed and simple.
Nice! Thank you for the thorough explanation!
Looks amazing, like a MT09 SP LCD Display.
That was cool I can’t wait maybe another color

Glad to hear. Thanks for watching!

It's about the same. In direct sunlight they are both kind of hard to see.
@@MotoSouth I think the SP screen ( same as your mod) is easier to read in direct sunshine..I've been on both bikes and the SP screen (inverted one) is a clear standout

Did it work?

Great video ✌️ Cheers from 🇵🇹
Nice very simple..thanks
Just hopped on the subscription train, love the videos man. Keep the grind👌🏽🔥
Ha, same here
. This one Vid made me sub
You should change the title to something along thew lines of : "mt/fz-09 How to change the color on the display/lcd." the title is a little confusing
ya i though he is gonna change the whole display.
That's soo right.. The title is misleading.
His view count says otherwise 😎🤙
dont be a dumbass xD
Just order some color clusters I put it in mine for 20 bucks
Nice. I had to change all the LEDs on my Honda Hornet to change it to blue backlight instead of red.

Great video and finding! Can you add the film over the original one? What would we see then? Like 2 polarized films together.
Won't work by putting it over the original. That would be too easy 😂
You need to put Nintendo Switch Lite at Yamaha Mt 09 panel this September
My bike gets a lot of sunlight at work. Will not having that uv screen be a problem or will the polarized one do the same thing and flip the display? Awesome mod and video.
It won't be an issue. The new filter is also a UV filter. Thanks for watching
Good question.
Great tutorial, might do this during the off-season
Nice easy little project indeed
Great job as usual, I would be a little scared to mess around with the LCD but you made it look so easy! Have you changed the settings of your suspensions by any chance? would you be able to make a video about it? Cheers!
I have played around with it a little. Been thinking about making a video on it.
This can be done to other bikes as well. Like the CBR300/250
This is GREAT!!! thanks!!!
Bro your the man
If you end up putting a rapid bike fuel tuner on it let me know. I put one on my bike with the quickshifter they have and you may need some help cause it's a pain. It's like the a PCV
It just gives you a up/down quickshift. No other brand does that. Theyre all just up.
Its easier to read the display like this IMO
Ohh yes. Even the camera knows
thank you for sharing...thing only we needed only polarized sticker bosku? thats it? anyway thankz again bosku
That's right. Just the polarizing film.
Curious how it would look like at night, and out riding in the sun. Could you make a video of that too. Been jealous of the dash on the SP, definitely wanna try this out!

I haven't seen anyone do a swap from another bike. There is a company that does universal TFT displays but they are very very pricey.
Excelente video👏
Great vid would you mind if we repost this on Instagram?
Interesting and impressive video but how is that better than the original ? If the bike came with dark display people would be switching it to light display just to do something to their bikes.
To me it's easier to read. Besides, modifications are almost as fun as riding
That looks rad
Very Nice useful mod.
Excellent!! What music did you use in the background??
Got it from the UA-cam library. The song is called American Vernacular by RAGE. Thanks for watching.
Damn dude are you filming in 8K? Fuckin sharp quality. Good work too, I'm gonna swap my lcd - feel that more than I'd ever feel Ohlins lol
