The film you removed was the original polarizing film--evidenced by the fact that once removed, you could not read the LCD until you placed a new polarizing film on it. The UV filtering is likely on the clear plastic cover that is a separate piece from the LCD assembly. THIS IS A GREAT MOD! THANKS!

This is a great option for us USA owners. I've
always liked the way the SP dash looked compared to the stock MT-09 one.

I agree. Looks so much better. Even with the key off, the blacked out look matches better with the rest of the bike.

Exactly what I needed. Thank you so much. I'm going to buy me a MT09 soon. Was about to get the SP, but I don't like the color of the bike. So I buy a MT09 and switch the suspension to oehlins. I had no idea how to get my hands on a SP look-a-like LCD. Now I can build it my own. Top notch!

Can't imagine it would be worth upgrading a standard bike. Just get the sp and a fairing kit worst case is you have to wrap the tank. Still easier than replacing suspension.

FZ07 should work the same way but I don't have confirmation on that. The polarizer is also a UV blocker built into it

Hello and nice work. I see a blue screen not black and i d like to know if this is the same and on the SP model. Thanks and this is much better than the stock one..

Depends on the angle of the filter but you can get it really close to the SP if not identical

Excellent video. Excellent mod! Have you or anyone on UA-cam found a way to swap out this dinky instrument cluster with a cluster from another bike? Such as one from an older R1 with an analog tachometer and digital speedo?

I haven't seen anyone do a swap from another bike. There is a company that does universal TFT displays but they are very very pricey.
