If you scroll back up and SMASH the like button and then hit command + W (control + W on Windows) it will actually make it glow green. Weird easier egg I know.
Great stuff! Here are some more tips with Command-Tab. While you command-Tab, to act on the selected app, you can press Q to quit, H to hide, and up arrow to view the windows and ~ to go backwards. But most cool is that you can start dragging a file, and command-Tab to the app you want to drag it into. Use for dragging stuff into mail windows.
@37:05 It's forward slash. I imagine person looking to the right. If they lean forward, it's forward slash. If they lean back, it's back slash. And thanks for this amazing video. Coming back to Mac after years and it's really helpful :)
⌘⌥V moves a file if you have copied it somewhere, it is the Mac equivalent for when you want to ⌘X or cut to paste it somewhere, but for some God forsaken reason the Mac engineers thought that having that default for files made too much sense...
If I ever get a mac I am certainly referring back to this video. I love the idea of using keyboard shortcuts to make my use of computers quicker. I hope Bog makes a video ranking keyboard shortcuts on windows too! I can't find a good quality video anywhere where they list all the keyboard shortcuts and what they do.
I've got to say I struggle with MacOS's keyboard shortcuts. Over on Linux, it's fairly simple - the Win/Super key does stuff for the desktop environment, Ctrl and Alt do stuff in applications. But then you go over to MacOS and suddenly it's the Cmd key for most things... and it's immediately in a much less pleasant place, being where I need to use my thumb to press it, rather than my pinky. Then Ctrl+Left/Right is used to move between desktops, okay, so we've reversed Cmd and Ctrl, but wait, Ctrl still has its traditional use in many Linux ported applications and in iTerm2. Now things are just confusing and all over the place. And terminal programs don't always recognise Option as Alt.
Hey, can you perhaps make a "how to clean your macbook" video? I would like to keep mine very clean without causing harm. Im thinking about cleaning the keyboard, the screen. What products would you use? I trust only you at this point
When I minimize a window in macOS, I usually don’t want it to show up when using command-tab. I use it rarely, and only to put something away that I would only need much later.
Hey bog, kinda dug myself a whole with all the shortcuts - Not the ones Mac OS uses by default, but with literally hundred toggle this and toggle that options in all those fancy menu bar apps you collect over time while trying to fix a problem while creating two more problems. And the worst thing about it is, I still kinda enjoy spending 3 Hours to try to understand which of my 10 Castle overpowered automation apps that I dont have a clue of makes the system Crash when running a simple ctrl + -> . Maybe you could one day talk about workflows that you tried to implement but stopped to do some real work instead. For me, its trying to collect all global and all application shortcuts. Its just so frustrating and after 2 weeks i dont know why I even started this in the First Place 😂 cheers!
Best video covering all the shortcuts. I love your editing style too! How were you able to get a Safari start page with the wallpaper being full screen?
No command option C in Finder? No option space in Viewer? Blasphemy! You should tinker with Karabiner Elements, Hyper on Caps lock is sweet. Especially when combined with Raycast. Also Command on Enter when Enter is held and Enter when Enter is tapped.
What is the name of the application that allows you to expand menu bar icons like a tray on Windows? I tried Bartender and I don't really like it, but it looks like you have a different application
@@bogxd Thanks for answer. It seems that Vanilla collapses icons at the bar menu level and they still can stay behind Notch. I wanted the application icons to roll out under the menu bar, so that the notch would not block them. I googled, there is an free application called iBar and it can provide same functional as Bartender. It would be nice if Apple finally added this to the system without third party software
I love you so much man. You are a huge W. I have one singular problem. It is not related to shortcuts. It is related to the stupid horizontal scroll, whenever I press shift+scroll. How do I remap this stupid key to no action.
When you turn it on you can see the menu at the bottom right corner of the home screen. You can select the background option and choose a custom wallpaper for your home screen.
control + tab C tier!? 0/10 my disappointment is immeasurable and my day is ruined also in the screenshot shortcur (16:50), you don't need to keep holding cmd+shift+4 all the time. you can do cmd+shift+4, release, then space, release then hold control and click to copy the application screenshot.
At 3:22 regarding the UA-cam volume slider.. bro it always only uses the up and down arrows, unless you selected it right before with your mouse and changed it, then you will notice that element is in a blue box, which only then will allow you to change it with the left-right arrows. So if you just don't click around with your mouse there, left-right arrows are always for skipping back and forward and up-down arrows are for volume change.

Fun fact cmd w is the only app/window/tab closing shortcut that works on iPad. So I can now close my UA-cam Application.

Ah yesssss... totally forgot about this
Command X is a perfect microscopic utility app, that does the job for you if you want. I love apps that do exactly one thing but do it S Tier
Since I bought my MacBook because I thought I needed it do nothing Else than Watch your Videos with it. So dont stop posting videos. I love Them. 💪
a friendly reminder to clean your keyboard 😐
thank you
It's not even that dirty. It's just a bit greasy, that's it or maybe that's just the wear on the keys.
@@handle__ yeah the shine is the wear on the keys
I’m pretty sure all Mac keyboards just look like that when you use them for more than a week
as a mac user, i cannot explain how hard it is to clean it :(
You need to do this video for Wondows
(Shift-)cmd-brackets & ctrl-numbers for tagging are goated

41:24 i mostly use CMD+1, 2, 3, 4 for tabs in chrome. command 1 goes to tab 1, etc etc. command 9 goes to last tab (even if more than 9)
"🥬 lettuce begin"
WoW ! That was hilarious! 😂
Such a useful and informative video done with your usual amazing humor. A real pleasure to watch 👍
Cheers!
41:35 command 1,2,3,4 can also be used to switch browser tabs
Ctrl+Tab and Ctrl+Shift+Tab for tab switching also does it - same for Linux and Windows
Man I've must have been become a nerd. I Never thought I would be watching a tierlist of keyboard shortcuts
„Stop reading my folder names“ hilarious 🤣🤣👌👌👌
Also, if you hold down space while in UA-cam it'll play the video at 2x speed until you release the spacebar. Very useful.
Or hold click on the video! Works on touch devices as well in the yt app :)
you forgot ? key for UA-cam search, very useful
After cmd+L on your browser to get to the address bar, type the URL and hit option+return to open it on a brand new tab 🙃
cmd+return also does the trick 🤷♂
do a windows tier list
Well done. Thanks.
would be cool to have an image of the teir list and what each one does
Is there going to be a list of shortcuts that we can download? :)
The best video I watched today!

For me, I use Control D for Delete in the Right instead of fn Delete!!
4:58 BRO you need to press ctrl and shift with your thumb and tab with your pointer finger
okay i thought i had a decent amount of knowledge when it comes to shortcuts and i dont even know cmd d
(CMD IS LIFE CHANGING FOR ME BTW)
Can you make it for windows
Best video covering all the shortcuts. I love your editing style too! How were you able to get a Safari start page with the wallpaper being full screen?
Thanks! It's inside safari settings (command + , to go there) -> tabs -> compact
you didnt mention fn control f3 what it does is move focus to the dock where you can use the dock using just the keyboard
Do windows vs mac shortcuts
No command option C in Finder? No option space in Viewer? Blasphemy!

okay, i’m gonna ask this again

How does your safari look so nice?
Compact tab layout, clean toolbar, background image of Big Sur on the start page, and all start page information turned off.
Can you list these commands somewhere so I can look at that list?
Hey Broddie Please make a video on how to screen record in mac with Internal Audio
lol idk how i missed dis vid
gut video
Cheers!
ive been ruined by green fn and definitely did not think function delete when you showed the shortcut
Can you try gnome
cmd-Q soooo S tier
GNOME desktop shortcuts are much more convenient, from my own point of view
You just right click on the browser and it lists all tabs opened in it. Not sure why people think thats a pain but whatever
bro u got a word file or smth for all these shortcuts?
I have another one. Hold ⌥ and drag anything anywhere to make a copy of it. (text, folders, files etc.) Easy A/S tier
Yess this one is very good!
MACOS>winblows
22:16 V is missing

doesnt work in opera gx the option command and < and >
Have you tried Arc? What do you think?
