Literally, I was at a stop light and heard When I Grow Up from the truck next to me. Grabbed my attention and all I could do was remember one line from the song, then pulled over, googled it, found Fever Ray, then First Aid Kit. Never looked back. Incredible band. Criminally underplayed. Thank God it was a warm day and that trucks windows were down.
I will say this again, First Aid Kit is the best thing to happen to music in the last 10 years, Marcus Mumford introduced them to the stage as his musical heroes, that doesn't surprise me.
Loved FAK for years there are others flying the torch for the coruscating brilliance of modern music eg Florence and the machine " Big God" (2018) Innocence Mission "green bus" (2018) LP "lost on you " (2017) Daughter " to belong" (2016) The Kills "black tar" (2016) Dead Can Dance Eleusis (2016) Low - "amethyst" ps my current fav artists are LP, Low Innocence Mission and First Aid Kit (seeing the latter live next month in Birmingham (England)
Sorry Anthony I've got to disagree with you. They are the best thing to happen in music in the last 20 years. I thought music was dead until I came across these girls.
"music was dead until I came across these girls" FAK are wonderful , but there are plenty of other bands and artists' around eg Low, Dead Can Dance, LP, Florence and the machine, Innocent Mission . Agnes Obel , The Kills, Bat for Lashes , Daughter , PJ Harvey etc etc eg listen to "the lakes of Canada " by Innocence Mission and tell me then you think this is not a coruscating track !
They are one of my favourite musicians, but your statement is just subjective, you can look on comment section on every other artist on ytb and there you will see people saying similar things that you do.
god damn it, I've never read such overwhelmingly positive and well deserved comments about any band ever. I have but one request; always stay yourselves girls, don't go hunting for success in terms of record sales or clicks at the cost of your mental health. don't want to see this force of nature ever dampened
It's really rare to hear music of such a great quality these days. Also their vocals are unique and they sound nearly identical to studio version. I hope we will have the honor to listen to them for many more years.
Just bought four albums worth based on hearing one track at a friend’s house. The sound just grabbed me. Never heard of them. Making it up for it now. Exceptional. Can’t stop playing them. Every song is special. Can’t believe the quality. Feel blessed.
I just did the same. Found them a few months ago through a TV advert. I then added their albums to my wishlist on Amazon. Last weekend I thought I'd give the game The Long Dark a go, and recognised the theme music which reminded me. I now have three of their albums and am waiting for the fourth to be delivered.
I discovered these ladies by accident...and have never looked back. Grew up in a musical family so I'm always looking for top-notch talent. These ladies are the best. Come back to Denver - please!!!
Watching Glastonbury 17 highlights, the guy says next up first aid kit, I goes WHO, never heard of them. Watched their show.... WOW!!!! blown away. Been hooked since...real music...voices of angels...and I'm into rock music..i must be going soft. Love it. Thanks First Aid Kit
Wow, I am blown away by these two amazing sister musicians. I first heard "Emmylou" covered by Darin and Brook Aldridge, very well I might add. Having to know the songwriters it lead me to Klara and Johanna. I am hooked, line and sinker....wow and thank you. Music and tequila are keeping me sane and safe in 2020. Not going to live music is killing me, but this is the next best thing.
glad someone said it, I was thinking it just as I was enjoying this music...just discovered them 10 mins ago. I think I might be a folk singer and never knew it until now. love these ladies!
It's like the day when music first made the hairs on the back of your neck stand on end. A day I had long forgotten about until I discovered First Aid Kit a couple of years ago. And it happens with nearly every upload of First Aid Kit that I have seen (which Is now well over 3000 videos !) May it long continue..............
They’re just so great live, and their type of music is the kid that sounds so much better with the soul and emotion that comes from being performed live. This is such an excellent recording of a live performance too, really showcases their voices as best as possible. Wolf sounded absolutely fantastic, best version ive heard so far
The more I hear this band, the more impressed I am. First heard about them in a recent interview in Detroit with Greta Van Fleet as a group they love to listen too. Hope First Aid Kit comes to Michigan soon.
I love this group, how do voices join this perfectly? What a range of music, rhythms, and just raw talent and creativity! More please!! So bummed I had to miss this concert!! Sounds like the fans there were up to the task!!!
It's something you get from singing together for years, these are sisters they've been singing together all their lives, pitch perfect thirds and fifths...... beautiful
Never get tired of watching these ladies’ live shows, and the great players behind them. Also fun to look back at their early performances. Great show at Oslo in 2012. 😎👍🏻
I first heard FAK on The Graham Norton Show In 2018. I lament missing this outstanding act for so long. I now can’t get enough of their music. “Emmylou” is sublime.
Saw First Aid Kit last night (7.11.18) in Birmingham (UK) . For me Rebel Heart was my fav song of the evening , and in my top 5 tracks of 2018. Klara and Joanna showed they can hack it live . Bravo Girls !
I stumbled across this band because of their strange moniker. Also Heavy Metal is my main topic these sisters and their comrades have that certain feeling for music that makes you stay and listen with joy!
I accidentally came across this girls when searching for Waterloo Sunset (they did a cover) and that was just today. What??? I must be living under a rock. What a freaking awesome band!! This is the real stuff. I'm in love with their music. Oh so wonderful.
Some how their song My Silver Lining came up on my feed and I'm sooooo glad I listened!! I am hooked on their music. Great vocals/ harmonys, talented players and just ,wow! I have just added them to my bucket list to go see! 🙂
They are one of the best things that happened in my life. Waited and downloaded Rebel Heart back in Jan 2018 before resuming the academic year, and it never stops giving me chills listening to it! Love this band!
These two little girls have a bunch of talent!! i love their music! Lyrics, and energy that they send, positive energy, to everyone, great! Great!! i love their music!!
Both ladies sing and play wonderfully and have a really nice, gentle stage presence. They are great together. I think both are lovely and, Johanna (I guess) has to be one of the best looking human beings on this planet!!!
First saw them at 2011 Polar Music Prize. Made Patty Smith cry. In 2012 Paul Simon gave them a standing ovation for "America". In 2015 ceremony they sang Emmylou for Emmylou Harris and made her cry! Not bad for two young Swedes.
What a crazy time we live in now to have all this stuff right there whereas growing up you were lucky to get a a concert film at all, maybe only on vhs.
Emmylou is just so heart-wrenchingly poignant in every way. 13 years on (sorry, yes) and it still wrecks me every.. damn.. time. But when they first got to sing it directly to Emmy at the Polar Music Prize and she cried like a baby, oh man. I thought that would be the end of me 😭 Seeing them live is a cherished memory. Klara is just so perfect. I love her voice, her confidence, presence. She feels what she sings not just for show for the audience.
1:04:11 oh my god. it simply does not get any better than that. outstandingly beautiful

Which song please?
I've seen just one Reaction Video on UA-cam and the vocal coach said "wow, never heard that before, I have to borrow it".❤

Johanna's vocals have improved a lot!! I have faith in music industry again. This is art!😘
Has nothing to do with the industry. They met good people early on that kept the music industry at bay.
I am crazy in love with First Aid Kit. They make music shine. Just love them.
