They are, and have been magnificent. I caught them on video in the last year or so from a performance 10? years ago (don't trust me on that) when the King of Sweden was hosting a tribute and concert to Emmylou, my favourite female vocalist and album maker after Linda Ronstadt, who are both long time friends of course. I think it was an annual lifetime award thing and it was rightfully Emmylou's turn. I watched a lot of First Aid Kit since. People here are correct, the band members are also brilliant and very professional. I will say watching this just now that it seemed disappointong that the crowd was sparse and it was an early evening slot. However, this made it all the more impressive that they all performed utterly superbly. I liked the big video graphics thing in the background as well. Interestingly, the taller slimmer one is the older sister and you cannot fault her performances ever. The younger sister is definitely the power house of the group though with an even better voice and desrves every accolade. They've been going a long time surprisingly, even then in 2018 (it's now late 2023) but they obviously kept getting even better.
Klara and company have the best sound to come along in quite some time. Had the joy to be there LIVE less than a month ago. If they come your way they are a 'must see'. Oh, how about JoJo in those cutoffs and cowboy boots, magnificent! 😋

See, people want to win the lottery so they can buy a fast and fancy car or some ridiculously large house or other frivolous things. Me? I'd travel the globe to be in the audience to listen to wonderful artists like these two sister gems. Cars and houses come and go and are forgotten; while great music lasts generation after generation and generation. Great music is a tribute to God; cars and houses are self indulgence. One man's opinion.
Nicely said--there's nothing like that feeling, that transcendent glow, that one feels after being transported by musicians like First Aid Kit. According to The Rolling Stone Magazine these siblings are among the best in Music that have come out over the last decay. Celebreties like Jack White, Neil Young, Tom Petty, Paul Simon just to mention a few they all say these Girls have something unique and extra. Ill guess they were born in the wrong decay. They should have sung and performed during the 60. and 70 instead of now. They have fans all over the World in particular US. But Young kids of today never listen to this kind of Music. Its really sad.
Maybe you have a point about them belonging in the 60's or 70's, but I think they're perfect right now. Their sold-out show at San Francisco's Masonic Auditorium a couple weeks back was magical, and couldn't have been any better in the 60's. I guess you're suggesting they would have been more popular, more commercially successful, in the 60's, but it's a blessing they are right where they are, popularity-wise--I don't need to see them playing gigantic arenas! The night after San Francisco they played the 500-seat Jam Cellar in Napa--that is how music should be performed, as anyone who loves live music already knows.
Good sound.solid performance..but playing sold out shows at some truly iconic venues in the u.s....an afternoon show at a "carnival" in las desert in the hot afternoon before (what) 3 or 400 people? Who booked this? And no sing along for emmylou? Can't wait to exit stage left!!
