Imagine if they did go along with the original plot for XD, and it read your memory card with your original team for colosseum and made your team the final boss
That...would be pretty impressive if it did. It would basically be like fighting yourself kinda like with Red in G/S/C/HG/SS; how you played as him in one game, then he becomes your opponent in the next. Only difference, you have to outmatch your previous team. My question is...of they went with Wes as the villain...would he be a silent ANTAGONIST?
Imagine if in Sun and Moon, there's a part where you are lost in a maze and if you go the right direction, Miror B's Retro Grove playes very quietly and rises in volume if you keep going the right way.
Navisiul 97 Yeah, it's a shame Miror B. never did show up, but I won't lose hope. Sooner or later, they gotta realize how many fans Miror B. has, and just how much his reappearance in the series would be appreciated.
*Navisiui 97 I found Miror B hilarious even before Chuggaa LP'd these tw0 games bh. The LPs only solidified my reasoning for loving the hilarity that is the wondrous Miror B!!!!
Fun fact: If you put a normal-type in the purify chamber and point it to another normal type, it counts as super-effective. I had a Zangoose, Delcatty, Meowth, and Togepi, and it completely worked! XD
Here's a reason Mirror B Needs to come back: Bouffalant. Admit it, you ALL want to see him use one. Or a whole team of them. About that "original plot" of XD. What sources does that come from? Because I spend WAY more time than is healthy on Pokemon Wikis and even I've never heard that one before. It sounds a little unbelievable to me, almost like a mild Creepypasta. If someone in the comments can link me to CONCRETE PROOF (as in, something coming from Nintendo or one of the deveopers) of this original concept, then I'll believe it.
I found a link talking about this, but it doesn't have any official sources. It also describes the plot in almost the same words as chugga used and came out 2 years after the video was posted.
@@carterphillips9159 Chugga has admitted he forgot to fact check in the past. I still really want to see proof of this. There HAS to be some out there.
Maractus would be another good fit for Miror B, if only because it’s a grass type Pokémon that loves dancing just like Ludicolo. I almost wish there was a secret boss fight with Wes like the fight with Red in the Johto games
That secret ending would have worked so much better had Wes been the final boss. Just the way Micheal looks at his snag machine for a moment. Almost like he doesn't want to be without it. Like he wanted to keep it on for good. But then,he turns away. He doesn't need it and he doesn't want to keep using it. Because then he'd end up no better than those he sought to take down.
To me, it's more like he's finally accomplished his mission, and is ready to move on. Him leaving the Snag Machine behind feels symbolic of him putting the past behind him.
1:00 This moment right here... When me and my brother were kids he got a birthday present, a new GameCube that was bundled with XD, even having a Shadow Lugia on the top sticker of the GameCube. We played this game all the time together, it was both of our favorite game for a long while. Even our Mom played with us to beat the game it became big for the 3 of us. My mom had some insomnia and we didn't know it at first, but she would secretly play games in the living room when she couldn't sleep, and while she only ever played XD occasionally without us, one night after we had beat the game and caught Lugia, she decided to play. It was about 1 in the morning and she ran in to our room that my brother and I shared and woke us up and brought us in to the living room. We had been trying for a month to purify Lugia and she showed us that she did it. She purified Shadow Lugia for us, and I still can't say how my brother felt but I was really happy but part of me was really sad because we weren't even there. I did not know for years how she did it because I don't think she fully knew and we didn't get to see what happened. Mom has gotten out of gaming but still smiles everytime we tell the story because it was such a hilarious thing to happen to us.
This is a rare case of Chuggaconroy screwing up information. There is no eveidence to support the idea Wes was supposed to be the villian of Pokémon XD. In fact, when the game was announced Reggie Phis-Amis said it wouldn’t be a sequel to Colosseum, indicating it taking place in Orre was a late decision
Also indicating that they got rid of the plot line last minute too. Like what’s your point exactly? Have you researched any of this? Ever played Colosseum? XD is a sequel. The game released in Japan 5 months after the announce you’re referencing, which at the time of the interview, the game would have been mostly complete so who knows what Reggie was talking about.
after a few days of binge watching collosseum and Gale of Darkness, I really wish there was more games after this, tbh these two series was the most fun I had watching. Thanks for keeping this timeless classic around and all the great puns along the way haha
2 things about that plot: First, the problem isn't so much that a hero turning bad is too dark, it's that said hero... is supposed to be you. Players that played Colosseum are basically told that everything they did up to that point was for nothing, the Pokémon they thought they saved doomed once again. And it would have been your fault. That's the problem. If it were a character who was close, like say, Rui (although she wouldn't fit the mold in this instance, naturally), the betrayal feeling would work, but with Wes, it's simply too much of a slap in the face Second, on the note of there being darker games... I don't think the series was ready at this point for that. Part of what let Black and White do what it did is that the franchise was 15 years old at this point. Almost an entire Generation had the chance beforehand to play these games, and even those that didn't would still be familiar with the basic rules of the world of Pokémon. And it's only because of that familiarity, that acceptance of the way the world works, that they could make use of such a deconstruction of that system. It wouldn't be just some other people who were jerks to Pokémon, and you know you're not like that because you're the hero. For many of the players, it was able to strike a cord because... they DID those things. They caught Pokémon and left them in the computer for years, far from their family. They belittled them with mocking names, and simply used them for clearing certain obstacles without giving them any share of the glory. They caught these creatures and forced them to fight, never once thinking about whether this is what they wanted. I've gotten off topic here, but my point is, the series hadn't reached the point of making the world clear to all yet. People needed a little more time to consider themselves a hero, before they would be ready to ask themselves if they really are.
Actually, I'd have preferred Wes as an optional superboss over just a mere final boss, akin to Red in crystal. if it happened it would a) it wouldn't wreck past playthroughs of coliseum, but instead promote future ones and b) provide some form of closure to Wes' story, which is something both games sorely lack.
Yes, a friendly, NON-ANTAGONISTIC super boss. Wes battling Michael due to him also being a powerful trainer who also brought down an incarnation of Cipher and wanting to see his skills in person would have been much better than "hurr durr I'm randomly evil now and even worse than my former enemies because reasons!" I would have hated to see Wes reduced to that.
9:03 Okay, I only learned this recently, but what you're talking about at this point is a *rumor!* It has never been confirmed to be true or false! I believe the rumor came about due to the fact that Wes used to be a member of Team Snagem, and it does make sense, but for all we know, this could be completely false!
I'm glad they didn't go with that plot. It would be upsetting if Wes turned out to be a bad guy. Though, I suppose they could have made him a bad guy and then have him realize his wrongdoing and try to do good to make up for it by the end of the game. Maybe that can be the plot of Colosseum 3, if they ever make it. (Just as long as Wes isn't made into a mindless, evil bad dude)
The only problem I could see with that is that Wes is a silent protagonist.... Same with all the heroes of Pokemon games. To explein what happened and put him in the new role they would need to have someone else explein it and build him up like crazy. Like you don't encounter him until the end. Also, because Wes has the Snag machine, there could be an intristing twist of him stealing YOUR pokemon, meaning you need to beat him in a battle to get them back with the logic of this game, but it would probably be frustrating. Other than that, it would make sense. I mean, he was already kind-of been in that area with Team Snagem, you just kind-of assume that he's trying to redeam himself. And it would add quite a bit more weight to Colloseum knowing that your character is going to become the head of Cypher because of what happens.
that would be cool but it would be good if all of the protadnesses from all pokemon games would be cool, like you would play as wes at some parts and the male/female from x and y at some odur parts
@@dracocrusher not every main player in Pokémon games are silent protagonists. When it comes to playing as a trainer, u usually are silent. But in Pokémon mystery dungeon games, the person u play as talks, whispers, and thinks a lot and is nowhere near silent
If they ever make a continuation of this, the big twist at the end could that Miror B. was actually bald this whole time and wanted everyone with hair to suffer, which lead him to try using shadow pokemon with his whole groovy style and funky fresh moves being a cover so people underestimate him.
Everyone should start a petition to have Miror B appear as a battleable character in the next Pokémon DS Game! He's easily the greatest Pokémon character of all time! xD
The original plot of Pokemon XD actually sounds pretty interesting. Revealing that the protagonist of the previous game was not a good guy and only defeated Cipher so he can become its leader sounds like such a cool plot twist. It's too bad they didn't go with that.
If Wes was the boss of cipher in Pokémon XD, what they should’ve done is this: make it so that prof krane never planned on making the purify chamber. Then after Michael purifies several Pokémon through the original celebi relic stone way, Wes uses the time flute to summon celebi and catches celebi and destroys the relic stone but no one knows who did it and no one knows celebi was captured. Wes turns celebi into the real ultimate shadow Pokémon but not even any cipher members know Wes caught celebi. After the relic stone is destroyed, krane decides to make the purify chamber and Michael purifies Pokémon that way. After Michael purifies all the shadow Pokémon, he goes to citadark isle and instead of fighting greevil again, he fights Wes and Michael has to catch the true ultimate shadow Pokémon, shadow celebi.
@@AHGavInDaUSA It's a pretty convenient cover if you think about it. Going around Orre purifying the tainted pokemon gives him a solid and 'just' guise under which he can systematically destroy both Snagem and Cipher, which are the greatest threats and rivals to himself at the time of the adventure; being the only organisations capable of production, use, and recognition of Wes' pilfered Snag machine.
I can't be the only one who thinks Chugga should play Psychonauts. Granted, it's not on a Nintendo console, and it's a bit darker than what he normally goes for, but it's an under-appreciated game with a great visual direction and sense of humour, so it would be right up his alley.
Okay, so I have a great idea for what they could've did for a continuation of the Orre region games. Imagine this.... It's only been a year or so since Cipher was taken down by the XD Gale of Darkness protagonist (don't know if Michael's his real name or not, but whatever). And Cipher is just barely hanging on to what's left of it, as Ardos does all in his power to keep it from crumbling down. And although there are no longer any Shadow Pokemon in existence, Ardos is trying every way possible to get the Cipher Key Lair up and running again, so Shadow Pokemon may be produced once more and he can carry on as the new leader of Cipher. This is where the new "protagonist" is introduced. Cipher Peons are sent to the Key Lair to see if it can be salvaged, or if anything there can be salvaged so they may find a new lair somehow. One of these Cipher peons, Derick, turns out to be a teenager. Just a kid who's in way over his head and has no idea what he's gotten himself into. The only reason he had joined was just because he thought he would get some cool Pokemon, which he didn't mind of course, even if it meant stealing some Pokemon every now and then. What he didn't know was that Pokemon had been basically turned into fighting machines who had the door to their hearts closed. So for quite a while, you're actually playing as one of the bad guys. You run errands (since you're just a peon), you explore, and not many exciting things happen for a while. And slowly, Cipher begins rebuilding itself. The trainers get tougher and smarter, their technology gets better, and once more, Shadow Pokemon are being produced once more. And at one point, Cipher creates a snag machine after quite a while. And when that happens, you guessed, it's given to the teenager for two reasons. One, Cipher has a history of being taken down by teenagers with snag machines, so they thought if they had a teenager with a snag machine, they couldn't lose. And two, they wanted to have someone to place the blame on in case things did go wrong. And this kid is instructed to capture and steal quite a few Pokemon from their trainers so they could be turned into Shadow Pokemon, and throughout all this, he's starting to feel bad about what he's doing. For both the trainers, and the Pokemon he's stealing from them. And since he has the snag machine, he knows he can do something about, and that he's probably the only one who can do anything about it. There's no Wes, out Michael that's going to step and save everyone this time. He's gonna have to do the right thing himself, thus beginning the true adventure.
And with which game when the time comes, Diamond or Pearl? It's gotta be one of those, he's always done the best games out of each game set and Platinum is the one third version that is worse than the initial pair...
Next time: Chugga heads to a mysterious region where myths tell of an Egg that created the region and the world itself... Join him on his journey as he travels to stop an evil team from fulfilling their wishes of controlling time and space... Chuggaaconroy Let's Play's Pokemon Platinum! (Hopefully)
wait....whauuuuut??? They were planning on making Wes the Master of Cipher??? :O mind=blown..... they SO should have done that. To face Wes and some of the previous Pokemon he'd snagged turned back into shadow Pokemon....would have been AMAZING! and I woulda never seen it coming either, since I knew when i first played the game in 05 that Mr.Verich was the badguy. I always thought that Wes was the father of your character in XD....
About Wes being the antagonist as having been the originally planned ending, I find the idea interesting though also agree with you on sympathizing Nintendo's reasoning. That said, there is another reason I feel that it was good the plot was changed. Early on you mentioned how one great thing about Wes and Colosseum was that it really could be up to the player to determine Wes' intentions and whether Wes was "good" or "bad." With this alternate plot, that Wes was basically using Orre for this large plan of it, this unique aspect ultimately disappears, dictating that Wes was in fact acting from bad intentions. Of course it would also have been very interesting and unpredictable but I much prefer how things did end up.
My thoughts on the fact that Greevil's second team being Lvl 50 is simply due to to the fact that some people who played through this game, (me included) when they battled Greevil only chose to snag one shadow Pokemon at a time to make it easier for yourself and so his new team being that Lvl makes it so they aren't overly powerful against your team who may still only be about Lvl 50-ish.
Wow, the original plot sounds like it would've been interesting. One question, though. If Wes really had gone through Colosseum as a bad guy, what about Rui? What would've happened to her after all that? Another great LP done, looking forward to the next one.
awww i feel so nostalgic. i binge watched your colosseum and then xd play throughs and your last line about orre not needing our help anymore made me emotional!!
It should be Fire Emblem: Awakening because I'd say it has the most content of any other game I've played, but fans would have to choose who he marries and what class he will be. So it would be QUIET a lot of work. But I do hope that. :D
I beat Greevil today (only KOed his Moltres and Articuno) and so i was pretty pumped having beat the game again. Got a little sad when I saw Satoro Iwata's credit, but just gotta realize he helped in someway shape or form make another great game :D
That original story plan for Gale of Darkness reminds me of what the initial story for Infamous Second Son was going to be. For those who played Infamous 2 and took the villain route, Cole was going to be the main villain for Second Son and in fact, one of the guys was writing the story for it. Unfortunately, the guys told him to scrap it because over 70% of gamers who played it first go around did the hero route first so they made Second Son to what it is now. It sucks because like the original of the Gale of Darkness, it would have been great.
I'm happy they went with this instead, Wes is my favorite protagonist in the Pokemon games and making him into the antagonist would have been such a wast.
I really don't think Wes being the main bad guy makes sense. Why steal and purify all those Shadow Pokemon if he was just going to go off and do it himself? It really would feel like everything we did in the previous game was for nothing. Honestly I wish Wes could have been like a super boss or something, like Red in the Johto games, instead of the main bad guy.
The point was to get Gen 2 Pokémon onto your main games like RSEFRLG. It’s pretty subtle, but if you pay close attention during the story the hints are indeed there. See, in Colosseum, Wes never put the snag machine down. Then the super boss for Colosseum is ‘Shady Guy’ WES, in fact, this is after everything you did throughout the story, the super boss is a twisted red herring, yes, but it’s him. Door was practically open for the “rumored” plot line.
Greevil was kept level 50 so that you could snag his six Shadow Pokemon in multiple trips if necessary and not have overly dangerous replacements for his missing ones.
You know Chugga, my friend and I are working on a fanfic series that'll include all the main series Pokemon games, and we'll even include Colosseum & XD as well. If it'll help with your dreams, we'll include Ardos as the main villains of the conclusion to the Colosseum/XD series, and, most importantly, we'll even bring back Miror B.
Wow, I genuinely had never heard of that scrapped XD plot before. I'm kinda glad it isn't a thing, though, cause I really liked Wes and it'd be especially sad since Rui and the others had so much faith in him. :(
Imagine if the game kept the "scrapped plot" he mentioned where Wes is the bad guy heading Cipher because he went mad with power...Michael leaving the snag machine like that would have sooo much more meaning...
That would've been really cool if Wes were in XD as a villian as it seemed like something he might've done. Would love a remake but I could see it as DLC for BDSP or as part of the game itself. Cyrus wanted to get rid of emotions and Shadow Pokemon is something Cyrus would've been interested in
Today in the newpaper: "UA-cam LPer finishes Pokemon XD, asks, "Where is the sequel?"" Oh wow, I didn't know about that alternate plot for XD! I'm kinda sad that wasn't the case, I really love hero turned villains, as well as appearances by previously playable characters (So it's probably no surprise that one of my favorite bosses in the series is Red!). Anywho, that was a pretty great series. It was fun to watch and re-experience XD, and I had a lot of fun sharing my thoughts and experiences with the various Shadow Pokemon we encounter in the comments! The Shadow Pokemon games may have their flaws, but I really love them and hope they decide to give us a sequel one of these days. It'd be nice to come back and see Orre again after all these years! All in all, thanks for the LP!
Holy shit I'm so disappointed that they didn't go with that story idea!! As for that new LP... It's a new series, so I think it might finally be time for that Xenoblade LP
I sure hope so, we know that he's been working on a series for a long while now (which Xenoblade would take a lot of work to prepare) and he's always sung high praise about it, so here's to hoping :D
Don't get me wrong, I don't care for Greevil in the least and Eldes is the only Cipher higher-up in XD I find even slightly interesting. But I would have hated Wes going randomly evil and being even worse than his former enemies, especially given there was no sign of him having any malevolent intentions in the first game. It would be the ultimate betrayal to Espeon and Umbreon for starters, let alone Rui and everyone else in Colosseum who were opposing Cipher just for the sake of having a crappy plutt tweest. I just wish he had been a super-boss in this game, perhaps having been traveling the world or something, heard about Cipher resurfacing but being totally crushed by someone even younger than him and just wanting a friendly battle to see just how Michael compares. I wouldn't care for any Pokemon PC turning lolevil just because.
“There was no hint of him having the slightest of malevolent intentions.” Dude was a member of Team Snagem, stole the snag machine and blew up their base...This was all in the first five minutes of the game. It’s heavily implied he was a neutral evil type from the start. It wouldn’t be random at all.
@@DragonForceAnimeReviews This is a month old but I have points I disagree with. " Dude was a member of Team Snagem" Key word being was. This would mean that something in the organization made him quit, and considering his actions in the first game, he likely no longer agreed with their actions. " stole the snag machine" From a criminal organization mind you. This doesn't make him evil. "and blew up their base..." Refer to my point above. "It’s heavily implied he was a neutral evil type from the start." This does not imply neutral evil, but moreso a character who can go either way. He could be either someone who decides to do what he can to atone for his actions as a Snagem member or become what the "original plan" was. btw I am no arguing it coming out of nowhere. But I like to say that Wes at the start of Colosseum would stand firmly as a neutral character who could go either way. btw, every source I find links this video for that information and the "DidYouKnowGaming" image does not seem to be real and as such I am requesting an interview or source for this.
@@DragonForceAnimeReviews Nothing you mentioned there makes Wes an "evil" character in the slightest. On the contrary, betraying a criminal organisation, stealing their ultimate weapon and blowing up their base sounds very "hero-like" to me.
Wait a second, Wes was originally going to be Cipher's new leader?! That would have been an amazing story for a Pokemon game, and it would rival, or perhaps even surpass the story given to us in the B/W and their sequels. It's times like this that I wish I could go back in time and convince the creators of this game to go with their original plan for the story. Unfortunately, that story never came into fruition, and instead we got a villain with little backstory, and honestly he comes off as kind of a generic Dr. Evil type villain (ironic, considering he looks like Mini-Me gone mad). Well, I guess that kills the "Wes is Michael's Dad" theory, because Cipher's new boss would not want Shadow Pokemon to be purified. Michael's Dad will probably continue to be like Ash's Dad: Completely unknown. The original story also answers many questions I've had in this game, such as why Miror B. ultimately quit Cipher. Now that I know Wes was originally going to be Cipher's new leader, it makes so much sense why Miror B. quit; He would never side with an enemy of his, and unlike his old leader, this one wouldn't make their home base an extravagant crib with golden Sudowoodo statues, and instead has a more dull and gloomy style. If they actually gone with making Wes the final boss, it would make the Red battle in G/S/C/HG/SS look tame. I also have to disagree when you said it would ruin Colosseum playthroughs; on the contrary, I think it makes the story of Colosseum even better, because it seems like after that awesome introduction where Wes defines his character, he is mostly a generic hero after that point. If they had gone with Wes being Cipher's new leader, than what does would not be generic, and it would make Wes a villain protagonist, making it the only Pokemon game where you get to play the bad guy, which I think is really awesome. Had they chose to do this, something cool they could do with it is for XD to look for Colosseum data on the Memory Card, and use the team you beat Evice with, and make them all shadow Pokemon. If they didn't do that ,or the player doesn't have completed Colosseum data on their Memory Card, they could make his team Shadow Lugia, Espeon, Umbreon, the three legendary beasts, and a Johto starter's final evolution.
NintendoSebastian Actually, the person who replied to me saying that didn't even mean to post here, meaning the similarities to Wes and Anakin weren't seen. Besides, they don't have any similarities anyway. Anakin was someone who only turned to the Dark Side because he was deeply afraid for the lady he loved, and Palpatine used his anxiety to get him to join the Dark Side. Once Anakin became Darth Vader, that was at the point where he had lost all hope in life, and is in deep despair. If Wes were to be XD's main villain, he would be much different. Unlike Anakin who always wanted to do good, and only turned evil with truly good intentions, Wes never truly had good intentions. Wes would actually be someone who just uses and manipulates people as pawns to get what he wants, such as trying to give off a "hero" image so everyone would help him reach his goal. He is someone who wants control and power for himself. That does not sound like Anakin at all to me. If anything, had Wes been Cipher's new leader, he would be more like Ghetsis, because they would both pretend to be heros who want to save Pokemon, but are actually using kind and innocent people to get positions of power.
I was just about to ask "What ever happened to the sonic color bonus videos" and then you actually talked about it :0 although im still wondering where the ds ones are
Chugga thank you for being YOU YOU got me through some suicidal times when it felt like no one loved me but those times are over you and the other UA-camr Jacksepticeye helped me through Rhodes tough times so thank you ( PS I don't care if this isn't pikmin or animal crossing but I think Shari is raising an army of Steve's RUNNNN!
Wow. To purify Lugia, it was more complicated than I thought. I literally has my purify chambers working on other Pokémon, me not even UNDERSTANDING how to make it max out. (I kinda just swapped Pokémon constantly, seeing which made the meter go up). By the end of the game, I had all of them maxed (apparently) with several Shadow Pokémon yet to purify. I put Lugia in, expecting it to take a LONG time, and it says it's ready to purify right away. This disappointed me SO much. This Super Awesome, "unpurifyable" Shadow Pokémon, is easiest to Purify. Just stick it in, and "I'M READY TO PURIFY!" But, I was wrong, I was just overqualified and didn't even realize it.
I believe if you have the flow and tempo maxed out Shadow Lugia will purify instantly, anyways. I definatly recall having no idea what I was doing, maxing out the flow and tempo to try and make something happen, and Shadow Lugia just purifying...... BUT it's been years so I could just be remembering wrong.
A third installment has to be made. The ending to XD was left wide open to the idea of a third game but it's a shame that it never happened. With so many people giving positive retrospect for Colosseum/XD lately, maybe Genius Sonority will finally make it.
chuggaaconroy If Wes were the villain of the game, this should have be his team (he would have made them shadow Pokemon and you would have fought him a lot later in the game, and I didn't include Shadow moves): Espeon Lv 77 Item: None - Psychic - Light Screen - Reflect - Morning Sun Umbreon Lv 78 Item: None - Faint Attack - Sunny Day - Toxic - Moonlight Meganium Lv 75 Item: Miracle Seed - Frenzy Plant - Solarbeam - Safeguard - Body Slam Typhlosion Lv 75 Item: Charcoal - Blast Burn - Flamethrower - Fire Blast - Double-Edge Feraligatr Lv 75 Item: Mystic Water - Hydro Cannon - Hydro Pump - Screech - Slash Tyranitar Lv 80 Item: None - Earthquake - Thunder - Blizzard - Hyper Beam
+Butterfree But... there's no room, and Tyranitar is the best/last Shadow Pokemon to obtain. He needs a powerhouse, the three unneeded Johto starters, and why, oh why, would he NOT use BOTH Espeon and Umbreon in his fights, since their BOTH his starters!?!?
RedDragonForce2 I'm talking about instead of Tyranitar. I don't think it really makes sense, and it's clear you're supposed to use Plusle (even though it's clear no one did). Also, Feraligatr is already a physical powerhouse with Dragon Dance, and Espeon and Typhlosion hit hard from the special side.
+Butterfree Yeah... but even given the limited AI competence computer opponents have, I'd think Wes would be slightly above that despite the 'power mad' state and feel that Tyranitar would balance his team more. Using Marriland's Team Builder, using the five agreed pokemon has a pretty diverse coverage defensively. Now, let's compare Plusle vs. Tyranitar... Plusle: Four types with no resistance, yet one less Bug weakness. Tyranitar: Only two types he doesn't have resistance to, and a fourth weakness to bug. Given Tyranitar's Rock type with possible rock moves, not to mention Typhlosion fries bugs for a living... Tyranitar is still better given the coverage of resistances vs. Electric Pokemon. Similarities between the two: shared Ground-type weakness. I'm not saying Plusle isn't good, just that it's better in doubles with Minun and Tyranitar has FAR better stats.
I'm really sad that they never came back to this series of Pokemon even if there was only one more game to come out I would be one of the first people in line
I have always wondered: What happens to the Pokemon Michael snatched during his adventure? Does he keep them, or will he try to find a good home for them? I like to think that Michael comes to the conclusion that having all these pokemon just sit around in his PC isn't good for them, and most of them might even have had other trainers before him, so he decides to find homes for all of them. He only keeps the six he used for the majority of the game, as he formed a strong connection with all six, and even if they had other trainers before, they all choose to stay with Michael... That's my head cannon for what happens after the adventure!
One thing that I could see was that after you caught and purified all the shadow pokemon, Wes returned for one last battle in place of Greevil. Maybe just like the second gen of pokemon, just imagine going for all the trouble of purifying all pokemon then Wes tied in the story to see that micheal finished what Wes tried to five years ago...
+Draco Bird (HelixForce12) That'd be nice. Though I wish they'd made Wes the final villan instead. But either way, Wes=Red and Michael=Gold/Crystal/Lyra.
That..was the secret ending? Huh..kinda lame.. What would make an AMAZING secret ending would be, that when Michael leaves the room and the door closes, SOMEONE sneaks in and you see the door open and someone standing over the Snag Machine. Think about it.
brandon mitchell You know what? They should make an xd sequel that it turns out wes took over cipher when eldes, ardos, and greevil gave up. It could be on the Wii U, and make it a huge seller.
I really wish they would've gone with the Wes idea. That being said, as someone who played XD before Colosseum, I thought Greevil was actually a good villain compared to Evice. Through most of the final act he was always looming there, and his sons added a bit of depth as well. Evice I feel like was just kinda slapped on.
+Bronze Facade I do too. And Greevil IS more interesting that Evice. The thing between him and his sons is kinda like with Yakone, Tarrlok, and Amon in Legend of Korra.
@@blankfornow6139 ….I started at Gen 3. With Emerald, Sapphire, XD Gales of Darkness and Pokémon Mystery Dungeon Red Rescue Team. Don't blame kid me, for not knowing that a game existed. Also what's wrong with Gen 5? That's one of my favourite Gens alongside 3 and 4.
shadow lugia looks so beast. sadly this is possibly the last episode, this game and Colosseum was my childhood. enjoyed every second of ur video's BIG THUMBS UP for u sir.
On 8:41 minutes when you arrived on the island. There is a man with a boat. ⛵ And he says: By the way, what brings you here? Get your errand finished quick so i can sail with you. What i suppose to do after that? How can i sail with him?
And this brings an end to Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness, I guess in a few days we will be seeing the bonus vids for Sonic Colors. For starters, Emile doing bonus vids right after main completion of a game, that is the thing that should be kept, because no one would expect to watch something from an older let's play all of a sudden, just saying.
when it comes to secret or alternate endings, i'm always expecting some kind of twist, like the ending to kirby 64: the crystal shards when you don't complete 100%. so i was expecting michael to get this look in his eye's like greevil's and have it be implying that he was going to do the same thing greevil did or something, lmao. i need to go to bed.
acrysonyk His next Zelda LP will probably be TP or OoT, since i doubt he'd want do another 2D Zelda since his last one was a 2D one, and i also don't think he'll do Skyward Sword, since his ¨Zelda backlog¨ is too big to just jump on the newest one (not counting Link Between Worlds because of nine month rule)
I feel like I've built a plot that could work as a sequel for this game. Bring back the areas and mechanics that XD did well, but make it a much darker game with atmosphere. Make it where Michael has had a son, and now he runs the Pokemon HQ Lab, and Cipher has been revived by Ardos and Wes as the two leaders. Michael, Eagun, and Eldes work together to keep the peace. However, instead of an "Unpurifiable Shadow Pokemon" schtick, create a specialty brand of shadow Pokemon that only the Admins, Ardos, and Wes have. For this, we'll call them XD shadow Pokemon. XD Shadow Pokemon are ruthlessly strong, go into Hyper Mode more often, resist purification (not are immune), and have signature Shadow Moves and Abilities. Also, due to an extremely strong Aura the XD Pokemon have and Michael's son using a weaker snag machine, the Snag Machine will fail when you battle Ardos for the first time, and in a scripted battle against his Shadow Pokemon, you lose horribly. Then, you have a scene where Michael gives a gift to his son: the original Snag Machine he used. To add darkness to the game, have Wes use Umbreon and Espeon, and make his Shadow Pokemon a Ho-oh, while Ardos uses Shadow Lugia, and give their admins the Beasts and Birds. This would work so well, and to cap it off, bring back Mt Battle, Gonzap and a revived Team Snagem, and Miror B, who has a fully powerful new Syndicate
WE NEED A 3RD GAME IN THE SHADOW POKEMON SERIES!!! Their were a couple of loose ends they could continue... Ardos for example! He got away... where is he?... he did not seem like HE was finished with Cipher at all... what is he plotting? ...and then even tho you did take off the snag machine, it's still there... in the lab... is it being looked after?... this lab has already been broken into once, when they stole the Prof.! And still... we need to see Wanderer Miror B. again... i just feel like they could do a 3rd game, it's totally possible and not a stretch by any means!
And so. Pokemon Gale of Darkness draws to a close, and with it the chronicles of Orre. Micheal has defeated Cipher, beyond a Shadow of a doubt. It was a great LP, kinda dragged on at times, but the good moments more than made up for it. As it stands now, we must bid a final farewell to the Gale of Darkness and Orre itself. We may return one day in the future, and perhaps not. It is time for Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness, to fade back into the shadows, for the Next Dimension of Pokemon comes to take it's place. With this, Gen 3 comes to a close. Farewell, Orre.
I know! How could Wes not have good intentions if freaking Ho-oh showed up to help after Evice was beaten? Ho-oh's only supposed to show itself to pure-hearted people!
Then explain the in-game reasons why the reward for purifying all the Shadow Pokémon and then clearing Mt. Battle is Ho-oh. Rui isn't a Trainer, she didn't catch and purify all those Pokémon, or battle her way up the side of a dormant volcano. Wes did. All Rui did was tell Wes which Pokémon needed to be rescued. And I want to know where the hell Chugga got this information from. The whole thing sounds like a demented fan theory.
@@TheEmeraldWeirdo But Wes wasn't the only guy there, you can't just assume him as the only "pure hearted person" there, whatever that means. If that's true Evice, Nascour, and everyone in the colosseum seats are all pure hearted too, huh...
About Wes being the main antagonist of this game, I don't know if that was really their intention or not but I'm really glad they didn't go with that. Of all the main protagonists of the Pokemon series, Wes is my favorite one and I firmly believe that he's a good guy all along. That being said I do hope that they come back to this series someday, I'd love see either a remake of Colosseum and XD on the 3DS or Switch, or anime series based on those games.
+Dale the Charmeleon
He would be both a silent PROTAGONIST and a silent ANTAGONIST if that happened.
Rui could have been the silent antagonist - to appalled by Wes's ulterior motives to react to the situation at hand.
And they would all be shadow Pokemon
Not to mention having the original, and true Snag Machine. Able to snag any pokemon due to him not having Rui to tell him to stop.
Imagine if in Sun and Moon, there's a part where you are lost in a maze and if you go the right direction, Miror B's Retro Grove playes very quietly and rises in volume if you keep going the right way.
That. Would. Be. AWESOME.
IAmMissingnoMaster Alas, Sun and Moon doesn't show him. Maybe in the rumored Nintendo Switch Pokemon game in the future.
Navisiul 97 Yeah, it's a shame Miror B. never did show up, but I won't lose hope. Sooner or later, they gotta realize how many fans Miror B. has, and just how much his reappearance in the series would be appreciated.
IAmMissingnoMaster I think with these walkthroughs, Chuggaconroy inadvertadly created a cult worshiping Mirror B. XD
XD
I LOVE THIS GAME SO MUCH! Give me a third game, a Miror B. cameo, anything to remind the world of these two fantastic RPGs on the Gamecube!
Could you imagine Miror.B being the final boss?
That would be a loco motion
YES
You see these are the types of pokemon games should be for the swith and not the main game
A mirror B cameo in what ever pokemon game comes next would be great
Here's a reason Mirror B Needs to come back:
Bouffalant.
I also want to know. I'm replying so that if someone finds proof and posts it here, I'll be notified.
I found a link talking about this, but it doesn't have any official sources. It also describes the plot in almost the same words as chugga used and came out 2 years after the video was posted.
Maybe it was in some nintendo power mag or interview somewhere... because I dont think chugga would make this up?
Agree
All that without any dialogue
To me, it's more like he's finally accomplished his mission, and is ready to move on. Him leaving the Snag Machine behind feels symbolic of him putting the past behind him.
@@BurstFlare wes does not apear in this game does he?
@@jkarma3356 We weren't even talking about Wes? We were talking about Michael, this game's player character.

This moment right here...
*Fils-Aimé
Also indicating that they got rid of the plot line last minute too. Like what’s your point exactly? Have you researched any of this? Ever played Colosseum?
XD is a sequel. The game released in Japan 5 months after the announce you’re referencing, which at the time of the interview, the game would have been mostly complete so who knows what Reggie was talking about.
after a few days of binge watching collosseum and Gale of Darkness, I really wish there was more games after this, tbh these two series was the most fun I had watching. Thanks for keeping this timeless classic around and all the great puns along the way haha
2 things about that plot:
First, the problem isn't so much that a hero turning bad is too dark, it's that said hero... is supposed to be you. Players that played Colosseum are basically told that everything they did up to that point was for nothing, the Pokémon they thought they saved doomed once again. And it would have been your fault. That's the problem. If it were a character who was close, like say, Rui (although she wouldn't fit the mold in this instance, naturally), the betrayal feeling would work, but with Wes, it's simply too much of a slap in the face
Second, on the note of there being darker games...
Damn. Dat deep
It's Miror B's last appearance... AND HE'S REALLY FEELING IT!
+Cyber Kirby Unless they bring him back.

+Cyber Kirby its b time
Actually, I'd have preferred Wes as an optional superboss over just a mere final boss, akin to Red in crystal.
if it happened it would
a) it wouldn't wreck past playthroughs of coliseum, but instead promote future ones
and
b) provide some form of closure to Wes' story, which is something both games sorely lack.

You could also fill the purification chamber with Hoppips to purify Lugia.
I'm sure Jwittz could help him with that.
And it would add quite a bit more weight to Colloseum knowing that your character is going to become the head of Cypher because of what happens.
that would be cool but
it would be good if all of the protadnesses from all pokemon games would be cool, like you would play as wes at some parts and the male/female from x and y at some odur parts

I think having Wes as a last boss would have been awesome but also a little disappointing seeing my favorite pokemon protagonist turn evil.
Shiro Okami what if it was just a friendly duel? Nothing at stake, just Wes showing off his Pokémon.
It could be like Red. Not evil, just a super strong boss
Play colosseum post game, he is evil, subtle but so obvious
Marcel Duchamp then why does he purify Pokémon? Rui plays as his moral compass throughout the game.

AWESOME SERIES! Thanks for everything chuggaa! You rock! :D
A mew move tutor? A MEWV TUTOR?!?
He's gonna have to do the right thing himself, thus beginning the true adventure.
this is so cool
I want it. I want it now.
They could use some Sinnoh and/or Unova Pokemon
dee dee that is one of the best ideas for a Pokémon game ever! Starting out as a bad guy and slowly becoming the Protagonist sounds really amazing!

Genius Sonority made the game XD but good luck! :D
The original XD plot sounds very interesting. I'd just be very curious to know where Chuggaa got this piece of information.

happy 10th anniversary to this game.
Preach 100% friend. I could honestly see Wes as a super boss in the Orre Colosseum or on the 100th arena on Mt. Battle. That would've been cool.
Next project is gonna be Billy Hatcher, calling it now.

10:47 that face he makes is a callback to Wes in the scene where he steals the snag machine... Just so you know.
Imagine if the game kept the "scrapped plot" he mentioned where Wes is the bad guy heading Cipher because he went mad with power...Michael leaving the snag machine like that would have sooo much more meaning...
@@dianeash8804 definitely
"Smiling" is not a callback.
Yeesh, talk about overanalysing things.
That would've been really cool if Wes were in XD as a villian as it seemed like something he might've done. Would love a remake but I could see it as DLC for BDSP or as part of the game itself. Cyrus wanted to get rid of emotions and Shadow Pokemon is something Cyrus would've been interested in
Metroid?
Today in the newpaper: "UA-cam LPer finishes Pokemon XD, asks, "Where is the sequel?""
Oh wow, I didn't know about that alternate plot for XD!
"UA-cam LPer finishes Pokemon XD, and asks, 'Where is the sequel?'"
Suicuneator Sorry
michael's journey is over the world is saved
Holy shit I'm so disappointed that they didn't go with that story idea!!
As for that new LP... It's a new series, so I think it might finally be time for that Xenoblade LP
That's exactly what I was thinking. Definitely going to be Xenoblade. If it's not, then I give up!
It's definitely the best time to start since X is said to be releasing this year.
I sure hope so, we know that he's been working on a series for a long while now (which Xenoblade would take a lot of work to prepare) and he's always sung high praise about it, so here's to hoping :D
that would have been awesome
Honestly, he couldnt do that.
It would take too long, and he couldnt be able to do any other projects for a long time.
+Magistrix Kuja Yeah. It wouldn't make sense for Wes to turn evil. However, I somewhat believe he was playing the hero and bad type role.
“There was no hint of him having the slightest of malevolent intentions.” Dude was a member of Team Snagem, stole the snag machine and blew up their base...This was all in the first five minutes of the game. It’s heavily implied he was a neutral evil type from the start. It wouldn’t be random at all.
The super boss in colosseum is no coincidence buddy.. Wes as the cipher overlord was always the plan.
@@DragonForceAnimeReviews This is a month old but I have points I disagree with.
" Dude was a member of Team Snagem"
Key word being was. This would mean that something in the organization made him quit, and considering his actions in the first game, he likely no longer agreed with their actions.
" stole the snag machine"
From a criminal organization mind you. This doesn't make him evil.
"and blew up their base..."
Refer to my point above.
"It’s heavily implied he was a neutral evil type from the start."
This does not imply neutral evil, but moreso a character who can go either way.
If they didn't do that ,or the player doesn't have completed Colosseum data on their Memory Card, they could make his team Shadow Lugia, Espeon, Umbreon, the three legendary beasts, and a Johto starter's final evolution.
but then would people who didn't play the gave *read majority* say the story was ripped off from star wars therefore hurting the sales?
phoenixian moth I don't understand how the story would be a Star Wars ripoff.
god jam it sorry didn't mean to put this comment here
Universer2012 A hero grows up and becomes the villain.

Just stick it in, and "I'M READY TO PURIFY!"
But, I was wrong, I was just overqualified and didn't even realize it.
A move tutor for mew?
Guess you could call him a MEWTWO-tor!!
You good sir have earned a cookie!
A third installment has to be made. The ending to XD was left wide open to the idea of a third game but it's a shame that it never happened. With so many people giving positive retrospect for Colosseum/XD lately, maybe Genius Sonority will finally make it.
That ending, it made me tear up a little and want the series back even more.
Ahhhhh, I love this game so much! Thank you for taking us on an epic adventure once again :)

ActiveReplay AR Even though it's not that strong, I'd put Plusle in there just because he gets one during the story.
+ActiveReplay AR Good team.
RedDragonForce2
I'm talking about instead of Tyranitar.
7:20
Where did they come from... Cottonee Joe?
One thing that I could see was that after you caught and purified all the shadow pokemon, Wes returned for one last battle in place of Greevil. Maybe just like the second gen of pokemon, just imagine going for all the trouble of purifying all pokemon then Wes tied in the story to see that micheal finished what Wes tried to five years ago...
+Draco Bird (HelixForce12) That'd be nice. Though I wish they'd made Wes the final villan instead. But either way, Wes=Red and Michael=Gold/Crystal/Lyra.
So true
Also, it just came to me that Wes=Black/White and Michael=Nate/Rosa since Gen 5. has the same setup as Gens 1 and 2 and the Shadow Pokémon series.
That..was the secret ending? Huh..kinda lame..
What would make an AMAZING secret ending would be, that when Michael leaves the room and the door closes, SOMEONE sneaks in and you see the door open and someone standing over the Snag Machine. Think about it.
Jovi...?
like wes!
brandon mitchell You know what? They should make an xd sequel that it turns out wes took over cipher when eldes, ardos, and greevil gave up. It could be on the Wii U, and make it a huge seller.
ThePikafan01 it wouldn't be a huge seller with only three million in the peoples homes, not all of them like Pokémon
More wii u s would be sold though
5:40 I guess that makes him a MEW-ve Tutor!
+AustinArcanum I didn't even know coliseum existed until Chuggaaconroy played it.
@@BigFearedBalloon Yeah ofc u didnt kid, thats mainly because u r a gen 5ive 5ag loool stick to black and white or something

What i suppose to do after that? How can i sail with him?
Fun fact that Hyuck guy is actually a medium rank in team rocket.
Say that to Pikmin 2 :3
What about the luigi's mansion 2 videos? I am not sure if he dropped them. But i do agree sonic colors would be good.
Would "Mario & Luigi" count as a new series for him? If not, then I hope it's Golden Sun...
8:34 I'll be taking this with a grain of salt, since there is currently no evidence to back this claim up.
when it comes to secret or alternate endings, i'm always expecting some kind of twist, like the ending to kirby 64: the crystal shards when you don't complete 100%. so i was expecting michael to get this look in his eye's like greevil's and have it be implying that he was going to do the same thing greevil did or something, lmao. i need to go to bed.
your Pokemon videos are the absolute best LP's

Twilight Princess?
YES. Please god Twilight Princess
unfortunately, that is impossible- hes done zelda games before, and he said that it would be a new game from a series he has never lp'd before.
Damn your sound logic ;). True, it can't be Zelda, but it doesn't mean TP is permanently off the table ^_^.
Leo King oh, no, not at all!
i actually hope that one day chugga does TP.
acrysonyk His next Zelda LP will probably be TP or OoT, since i doubt he'd want do another 2D Zelda since his last one was a 2D one, and i also don't think he'll do Skyward Sword, since his ¨Zelda backlog¨ is too big to just jump on the newest one (not counting Link Between Worlds because of nine month rule)
Kingdom Hearts? Metroid? Harvest Moon? Fire Emblem? The suspense is killing me!
"I'm really felling it!" -Shulk
I'm so glad they didn't go with the original ending. Wes is my favorite protagonist in all of Pokemon so far.
I know! How could Wes not have good intentions if freaking Ho-oh showed up to help after Evice was beaten? Ho-oh's only supposed to show itself to pure-hearted people!
Maybe it wasn't Wes it came for, but Rui.
@@blankfornow6139 The game itself makes it pretty clear Ho-oh was there for Wes.
Ho-oh literally joins Wes' team after beating Mt. Battle.
A game series you haven't LP'd yet? Gee, that rounds it down...
I haven't found a single source that confirms Wes being the villain, so I think it's a rumor that people mistake for being official.
