ExpressLRS PWM Receivers:
ExpressLRS now supports direct PWM output from receivers that have been specifically designed for this mode. BETAFPV ELRS Micro receiver features PWM output for the application of fixed-wing, helicopters, RC cars, boats and etc, and supports failsafe function, which can protect RC models from being out of control. Besides, the plug-and-play design makes it very easy and friendly to use.
Note: To work with PWM receiver, please make sure the TX and RX firmware is ELRS V2.0.0.
Comparision in BETAFPV ELRS Receivers
What is the major difference between Micro receiver, Nano receiver, and Lite receiver?
- Micro receiver is the first ELRS receiver with PWM output on BETAFPV. It is widely used in fixed-wing, helicopters, RC cars, boats and etc. Weighing about 4.5g with an antenna means that a FPV drone can not afford to carry. With the plug-and-play connect ports, Micro receive is very easy to use and does not need to solder.
- Nano receiver (2.4G version) is the first and (so far) the only receiver with power amplifier (PA+LNA). It has 100mW telemetry output and better sensitivity when longer range. Lite receiver doesn't have a PA/LNA on them, so its telemetry power is as what the RF chip SX1280 came with 17mW.
Beside, Nano receiver comes with normal external Dipole T antenna. Lite receiver has SMD ceramic antenna and in theory it is not so long range.
- Micro receiver is used for fixed-wing, helicopter, RC cars, and boats. High recommend the Nano or Lite receiver to builds on a drone. Especially on 65-85mm whoop drones with limited space and need lightweight, Lite receiver is a better choice.
Note:
The Micro receiver also supports flash CRSF output firmware, in this case CH2 corresponds to TX and CH3 corresponds to RX.
Package Included:

That looks like it will be handy for a couple of projects I am starting on soon.
Great!
Concise and clear, thanks Gal.
My pleasure!
Thanks for the video
Do you think ExpressLRS can be used with APM OR PIXHAWK Flight controller
Great review and I followed to buy one. All seems ok but cannot get Rxbt voltage, did you get V value? I already deleted sensors and rediscovered but no V value only 0. Thanks
My radio won't shut off if reciever is still connected .
" upgrading" is to hack out this failsafe ?
Thnak you for the video. Did you find specs about how much amps the WPM output channels can handle. Cannot find it anywhere and want to use some stronger servo's than standard.
My pleasure. Sorry I don't have this info. You can try to contact BetaFPV - maybe they can help you out...
Good work gal.been looking into LRS slot recently as seems good and cheaper which is ideal for our group.cheaper the better lol.stay safe my brother
I hope that you will be able to try it out as it's a cheap and good option. Take care Paul.
Hi! What is that red board between Rx and the motors/servos and is it always required? Could I just connect the servos + ESC directly to the BetaFPV receiver?
It's for powering it up :-)
Oh, awesome! Thanks a lot for the review, Gal!!! 😃
That receiver would be fantastic for rc cars as well! Now we just need a ELRS compatible rc car/boat transmitter. 😬
Anyway, stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Yes it's a valid option. Thanks Mario!
Has a rc car/boat transmitter been made? I can't find one.
@@paramotortheory Me neither, dude. No one did it until now. 😕
I believe Radiomaster has recently released a pistol grip style ELRS transmitter.
@@zeilstar They did! It's the MT12! 😃
My CH5 for a second aileron only seems to be ON/OFF, full movement. At center stick it will sometimes bounce back and forth. CH1 will pan smoothly through the full range. My web interface seems to show it configured as PWM. Totally new to this... Trying to program flaperons.
To clarify, OUTPUT 5 had the issue. It was using CH5 which will always be a binary with ELRS. Remapping that output to CH6 allowed for the 2nd independent aileron.
Do you know if you can set it up for Elevon mixing? I'm using the lite radio 2 so I can set up mixing on the radio itself
I don't think that it's possible using the current firmware. You better use your radio controller for that.
What's maximum range of this receiver?
I'm running 4s on my planes. Would I need a voltage regulator to use this reciever? My esc only outputs vbat
Yes, you need to use a 5V BEC.
Is it possible to connect a brushless esc to it, and if yes do you have any suggestions (about 40 amps)?
You can connect it to the signal pad but you will need to power it externally.
** can you connect 2 of these receivers together in order to get at least 8 channels for an Rc plane.. it seems there are no ElRS receivers with more than 5 channels..***
Check out this video: ua-cam.com/video/oUcMMjpN4u0/v-deo.html
is voltage readout over telemetry possible with this receiver?
I think it is, just not sure how. found anything on it?
Sir where can I get one that is 6ch to use for helicopter. No it's not a flybarless. It uses eccpm and my other helicopter mccpm.
Hi, sorry but as far as I know only 5CH PWM RXs are available at the moment.
If I want to use it with FPV, which firmware should I flash it? Now I'm using betafpv nano 3.0 firmware. It doesn't work properly and the signal keeps disappearing.
You're not using the correct firmware. Did you sort it out?
Its possible to find an firmware 3.2.0 ?
Good Morning. I have the same receiver, I would like to connect via crsf, how can I do it? Thank you
Hi, I think that I covered it in the video. Were you able to figure it out by now?
How would i connect this to get telemetry?
You should get telemetry after binding it.
The mechanical restraint of the IPEX connection is a welcome sight....So, that's six pinouts....so 6 channel outputs are available???...🤔🤔😳🇬🇧
Actually 5. One is not in use.
Can this be used on a rc car ? If so do u know how i can i do that
Yes, just like any other PWM receiver.
Hi Kremer have you gotten the superp 14 ch of Betafpv? Will you please make a video of it. RM been so slow releasing their new elrs pwm receiver. Just got Superp 14 ch from betafpv. Of course I bought it. But it's here. :) Please do a full review from explaining to flying on a model. Please!!! Ty Professor
Hi there! Yes I have it and I plan to test it out :-) Thank you.
Hi Kremer what are the range on this receiver?
Hi, very far :-) it depends on your setup and flying environment. Recently the ELRS dev team reached 100KM.
How does one set this to CRSF output?
Using the web interface as far as I can remember.
Does it have telemetry?
Yes.
What substances can a drone reach with these devices?
Are you referring to penetration? Well it depends on the environment...
@@KremerFPV In open field do you think it can reach 7 km?
@@gualtierorossi4856 Yes, just set your TX to the max output power just to be on the safe side.
Hi sir. I have same receiver but how come only ch 1 work. Also i trying to flash it to 3.0 and it say not enough storage when i flash it at 10.0.0.1
Hi, did you sort it out?
@@KremerFPV Yea both were on version 2. But wasn't same exact version. So I cant remember what version i tried but i made sure that both is exact firmware. And from there I was able to get it to work so i went ahead install 3.0 on both and work.
@@KremerFPV Oh how is it working for you how much flight you put in?
@@rcrotorfreak great 👍
@@rcrotorfreak I used it for about 20 flights and it worked well.
does this work with the lite radio 3?
Yes
@@KremerFPV hi im struggling with this. theyve got the same binding phrase and I put the controller in bind and it wont connect. is this some issue to do with incompatible versions? (I tried without binding phrase and without putting the controller in bind)
@@inkyspirets2460 make sure both modules are updated to the latest version.
@@KremerFPV okay so i cant change the version on the lite radio 3 so i have to downgrade the micro rx but my elrs configurator doesn't work. is there a way I can download the file and just upload it?
beware the lite rx there with the red antenna doesn't perform very well test it with caution.
Oh do tell more, i just put one in a micro
@@Euwanh85 Got the lite rx with flat antenna in my 2" and with tower antenna in my 3". If I fly up/down a floor in my house (reinforced concrete ceilings, 2.4GHz wifi router on each floor, 10mW, 500Hz) the flat one has serious drops in LQ/DBM. Just got one each... could be good vs. bad sample or even other electrical differences in my builds: tower: 96 LQ / -58 dBm, flat: min. 53 LQ/-92 dBm.
Yes, Betaflight just released an announcement about it.
Hi. What is nc pin ?
Hi, not in use.
