Great collaboration, i had only knew three songs by Melanie, Lay Down, Brand new Key and Look What they Done, when i found her live at Woodstock performance of Birthday of The Sun, i was blown away, i found endless appearances that she made on talk shows like The Tonight Show and Mike Douglas. What a voice, now i find this with Miley, i have to say i now look a Miley in a new light. Keep on performing Melanie, bring your light and brighten up these dark times we are living in.
Mark Conti Miley does a great cover of Jolene- Dolly Parton too. Her main stream make up doesn’t speak of her true spirit of music growing up with Billy Ray as her dad.

Totally underrated artist, sang her heart out in the rain at Woodstock. This is a brilliant duet. RIP Melanie. I can't stop listening to this over the past two days. I like Miley's throaty voice.
My best friend Gary turned me on to Melanie when we were in high school and he would play her music on his guitar all the time. Today Gary and Melanie are drinking some leftover wine together in heaven hitting all the right chords. Melanie - Melanie - so so underrated! You have been compared to being the female version of Bob Dylan. Rest in peace! I am so saddened by your passing.

Oh my, I just heard this sad news. I saw Miley and Melanie's backyard performance several years ago and was so thrilled with it that I went back and found all the Melanie songs I grew up with and loved so much. I'm truly sorry to hear that Melanie passed. She brought such joy to so many of us. R.I.P. Melanie. I was so fortunate to have met you in person and interview you a couple of times on my radio show. A half-a-million people there and you could hear a pin drop that night. There was no rowdiness or people screaming during performances. .Melanie, if you ever come across this: Thank You.

So my memory of your song is my Ma playing this in our car and we sang to it . I was a child. Lois dropped out of high school to model for Eileen Ford at 15 , was all round Buddha (not even knowing what a Buddha was) . She died at 45 from breast cancer . This song (for me) is for all the lights among us that shine and burn and must say farewell . Thank you for writing this song that Lois and I used to sing in the car (beat up Chevy Impala mind you )

Melanie., look what they've done to my song, is for me a national anthem..with the roller skate song and lay down lay down lay it all down. Of this video may I say Miley you sang this song with depth understanding of how Melanie wrote it to be sung in absolute meaningful clarity. Thank You Melanie ❤ Thank You Miley ❤
Love Melanie! Her voice is so unique. Grew up listening to her from day one. RIP sweet Melanie 🕯️🕊️♥️
I am named after you...born 1974. Never been sad to have you as my namesake. More and more talented and beautiful every year. xoxox
Me and my beautiful boy fell in love listening to this unique woman, he passed away 18 mths ago after 50 wonderful years together. I now listen to this unique woman and long for the time we were hippies in the park. Thank you for always being there for me without even knowing you are.
Thank you for writing this song that Lois and I used to sing in the car (beat up Chevy Impala mind you )
What a great rendition or duo to relive one of my favorite forgotten oldies after only God knows how many years. Miley does the song great justice. RIP Melanie. Now to listen to the original only God knows how many times.
Miley has the best voice ever
