What could I say for Melany other than RIP with our love. I might be Greek living 10,000 klm away but I feel like a part of the ground I stand on is gone now. Vangelis, Melanie, Mikis… so many greats left this year.

Wow! I have sometimes wondered about 'dream pairings' for the immortal Melanie Safka with other singers who started in the '60s (such as Joan Baez, Joni Mitchell, or Marianne Faithfull) but I hadn't considered newer singers. Miley Cyrus seemed to truly understand the spirit of this great song.

Could not agree more about Miley...I think she is an amazing artist, with a very broad vision of her craft. She is fearless and really means every word she sings. I love her approach to artistry. And yes, wonderful pairing with Melanie. I saw Melanie at the Troubadour in Los Angeles when she was at the peak of her fame...she was incredible and so was her backing band. Just a mesmerizing concert that I felt privileged to see.

Wow - I just did a UA-cam search for 'Melanie Woodstock'.... and came across this, new today!
Melanie is part of my generation. It warms my heart to see Miley and Melanie sing this poignant song. My respect and admiration for both singers only grows. I think Miley has "an old soul" that would have been very comfortable in the Woodstock Generation.

Way back in the early 70’s I was given one of your albums. I played it a till it was thin.. Soon moved to Alaska and into the woods. Lost track of your music caught up in playing guitar, banjo etc with friends. Today my 2 year old daughter and I stumbled on a UA-cam and it brought back memories.. this is lovely! We will watch more.
