I used to drive a semi , I've driven through all kinds of weather . I had to park for a 10-hour break in many places I didn't want to be . I, too, Just wanted to go home .

These people will never comprehend that coastal areas flood. It's always historic weather with these people.

At one point they had 15” in 3 hours. That’s a historic pace up there. Down here we’ve had 2 historic floods in 2 years. I’ve been in multiple floods in S FL through the years but they didn’t have rainfall rates like the last 2. They were historic for that reason

North Carolina doesn't usually have to deal with this level of rain and flooding. Plus, I don't think the residents were properly warned. I don't think the authorities were prepared for this. I'm in central N.C. and we got a tremendous amount of rain, inland.

you figure with modern computing technology that somebody somewhere would figure out how to model storms, pending rainfalls, and most importantly, areas that may flood...perhaps save a few rescues, let folks move cars, auto, boats RVs to higher grounds, fewer insurance payouts, fewer dollars spent on rescues. Seems insurance companies and city governances would demand such a thing.

The folks at the National Weather Center do model storms all the time and with super computers and yet because of unpredictable variability in weather it is still hard to accurately predict how the weather will behave all the time. But they do get it right quite often.

This is a prime example of why more people need to get more prepared and think about "Emergency Preparedness Management" for both your home and vehicles. I am a UA-camr under my Full-Name with the same profile picture as this post with 47 videos covering 27 different category topic subjects sharing my personal knowledge and experiences with others to help others improve their overall adult lives. I've got videos on building yourself a high quality 24-72 Hour Survival Bug Out Bags, Home and Vehicle Preparedness and Readiness advice videos, several Financial Literacy advice videos, a dozen Cooking Creation Recipes videos, and more! That flooded area should also consider looking into Aqua Dams and Dam Easy door barriers products.

THE ONLY REASON WHY I WOULD NOT LIVE IN NORTH OR SOUTH CAROLINA IS THAT THEY JUST DO NOT BUILD HARDENED HOMES BY THE COAST LIKE FLORIDA DOES! ITS JUST AS NECESSARY, AS WELL AS FLOOD MITIGATION!
I WISH THE BEST FOR THOSE FAMILIES AFFECTED!

That's not the problem the problem is the fact is that humans keep burning fossil fuels releases carbon dioxide which is the primary gas that is overheating planet Earth 90% of all the thermal radiation just being absorbed in the world's oceans. That continues to cause the ocean temperatures take a break past the 86 and 90 degree range that continues to evaporate substantial larger volumes of water vapor into the atmosphere many continents have been hit by Major flooding pair the storm drain system of the 50s and 60s it's not designed to handle higher precipitation rates in many countries including the east coast and the Gulf States

The whole southern borders of The US is
    In danger ⚠️ of sinking
A little rain 🌧️ should not
    Cause all these problems
Look at Miami Sarasota, Fort Lauderdale, parts of Georgia, Alabama north and South Carolina all the way up the coast…
I’m wondering if the 🌊 sea 🌊 is slowly taking
The land? Unless not forget about Texas and Louisiana the entire southern border has this issue yet no one saying anything….
