TikTok is one of the largest social media platforms, and there are plenty of disturbing and terrifying videos to find. However, this iceberg isn't really that scary, and I'm going to show you why. Join me as we explore the "CREEPIEST" TikTok Iceberg.
In case you don't have a clue what TikTok is, my good buddy Wikipedia can get you up to speed real quick, "TikTok, deployed in China as Douyin (Chinese: 抖音; pinyin: Dǒuyīn), is a short-form video hosting service owned by the Chinese company ByteDance. It hosts user-submitted videos, which can range in duration from 3 seconds to 10 minutes.
TikTok is an entirely separate, internationalized version of Douyin, which was released in the Chinese market in September 2016. It launched in 2017 for iOS and Android in most markets outside of mainland China; however, it became available worldwide only after merging with another Chinese social media service, Musical.ly, on 2 August 2018.
TikTok and Douyin have almost the same user interface but no access to each other's content. Their servers are each based in the market where the respective app is available. The two products are similar, but their features are not identical. Douyin includes an in-video search feature that can search by people's faces for more videos of them, along with other features such as buying, booking hotels, and making geo-tagged reviews.
Since their launches, TikTok and Douyin have gained global popularity. In October 2020, TikTok surpassed 2 billion mobile downloads worldwide. Morning Consult named TikTok the third-fastest growing brand of 2020, after Zoom and Peacock. Cloudflare ranked TikTok the most popular website of 2021, surpassing google.com.
Similar to Facebook and most other social media, TikTok has been subject to criticism over psychological effects such as addiction, as well as controversies regarding inappropriate content, misinformation, censorship, moderation, and user privacy."

I hate the faking disabilities one. As someone who has multiple mental disorders/disabilities it really bugs me. Now I do wanna say if someone is saying they’re undiagnosed pls don’t attack them as they might not have the money currently to get the help that they need.

I’m in Britain and it took my family years for them to believe that I had special needs and to get into a special need school ext just for me to develop more problems down the line and not get assessed I don’t feel bad for self diagnosed lol (sorry if this is jumbled)
feeling this.. I'm so sure I have adhd but the consult alone is at least $800 and a long wait list, with around $200 for follow-up sessions :( I want to have access to the medication to live my day to day life to the fullest but I just can't afford to spend that much.

Feeding live mice to snakes is a normal practice, but the part about hurting the snake is definitely abuse.

45:44 this reminds me of this whole kpop twitter fancam situation. a little while ago like last year, there were kpop fancams that people would send around and the first few seconds were normal, until it randomly cut off to a disturbing video like the one you mentioned. there were weird symbols involved. i never stumbled upon one of them, but i felt like i had to compare.

Another situation that you didn’t talk about is of a Brazilian 19 year old who took himself out in front of a livestream. The situation was handled very poorly because the Brazilian TikTok team took 3 hours to call the police, the rest of that time was spent preventing the spread and preparing if it did spread. Another thing to note is that they took 2 hours to even do something about it, Pr wise or otherwise. This and the fact that it worked for a year is what truly makes my blood boil to the extreme. I am definitely gonna get lost in the comment ocean but I needed to get this off my chest.

About the Macnutt situation, there was a lot of people who where discussing about the video in other tiktoks and a lot of people said "I saw it and i felt nothing, but then I saw the puppy in the background and started feeling bad because what if it doesn't eat for weeks :(", and there was a LOT of people saying this comment with different wording, it really made my blood boil

I have tourette syndrome, and I just want to say, I once saw a search "how to get tourettes" while doing research. YOU DO NOT WANT TOURETTE SYNDROME. I got severely bullied for it, and some tics often cause me pain. Tourette syndrome is not "cute" or "quirky" it's pain.

I dont really want sympathy but like girls and ive even had a guy or too like idolize me because of my mental state. Its super weird, and i dont understand it. I've used tiktok for a while and I've yet to find shit that's actually scary. For the most part, it's just people crying in front of the camera with the same spooky audios playing in the background. The disappointment and second-hand embarrassment is immeasurable and intense. I deleted the app 7 times, havent been on it for months (I can see that nothing's changed though) 😭

my personal opinion on the faking tourettes thing: i have adhd and a tic disorder. so no tourettes, tick disorder. theyre very similar but theyre not the same. im not a doc so im not gonna try and explain everything like you can google it. but in my experience my tic disorder gets triggered by even the word tourettes, and i know a lot of people with either a tic disorder and tourettes can have certain triggers theyre aware of. theres this documentary called the town that caught tourettes, a town in britain where people were just randomly getting tourettes. i feel like theres more to the disorder than people wanna be cute and quirky, though that tics and roses girl is a mockery shes actually mocking it, probably hysterionic personality disorder or something idfk. but yea theres something about the disorder that does make me feel like its almost contagious in a way

8:46 I work with a student who has various disabilities and occasionally they will suddenly shove at the table in front of them, sometimes knocking things over, hitting someone with it, making a loud sound, etc. Each time, they quietly say "I have a tic," and look so ashamed for having disrupted the class/activity. It breaks my heart every time. These tik tok people faking it are disgusting and make it even harder for society to be understanding towards those who truly endure them.
