5:22 There is a way to safely get vampire fangs, and a lot cheaper than what is listed. There's these pellets that you run under hot water, chew until they form into a kind of 'putty', then stick it on your teeth and mold. It's used a lot for cosplay and stuff like that, and probably way safer

Ngl frozen honey seems like the most innocent trend. It’s not TikTok’s fault people ate too much frozen honey. It doesn’t directly kill people for a tiny amount.
I started teaching middle school last year and devious lick was a fucking menace. We were pretty chill and like "hey y'all don't do that" until someone busted the pipes in the boys bathroom and no one could use the bathroom in that building for two months while they repaired the pipes, stalls, urinals, and sink. Cost our already criminally underfunded education system who knows how many thousands of dollars on repeatedly repairing or replacing stuff on campus. It got to where an adult had to check the bathroom before someone went in and after they came out to make sure nothing was "licked". Tbh? Big cringe
Some MF at my school brought a wrench and started ubdoing screws and breaking sinks. Someone even tried to remove the toilet which failed but it was wobbly for the whole year.
The most dangerous challenge I remember being around was the cinnamon challenge. People probably died from it. I think it happened before tidepod challenge. I think that’s when things really started getting dangerous. I also remember the ice bucket challenge but I don’t think that was dangerous
I think the ice bucket challenge was something to support a good cause because I remember my mom doing it for some organization or something when I was little
Cinnamon challenge was around far before TikTok, but yes, it is extremely dangerous. It can very easily go wrong and cause asphyxiation which... Because it's cinnamon dust, it's not easy to solve. It also proves a risk to people with asthma as, again, dust. Even cat litter dust triggers my asthma so I definitely see how cinnamon would do the same. Ice Bucket Challenge was also around before TikTok, it was to raise awareness for ALS and it was also typical to donate to ALS medical funds if you were tagged in the challenge
Okay so the cinnamon challenge didn’t originally start out deadly. Dumb yes, but the people didn’t do it to risk death lol, when it started getting dangerous is when people started burning smiley’s on their hands. That’s when it really started getting dangerous, then the finger & knife challenge also probably encouraged it too. The ice bucket challenge was for awareness. Even I did it as a kid when it was popular. Hardly anyone got actually harmed by it unless people intentionally made it so. All I used was cold hose water and a few ice cubes from the fridge lol

Iirc there was someone who died, or at least got seriously injured by the ice bucket challenge. But because the other person accidentally dropped the bucket.
Theres a good point you made that people should think about. Yes theres a lot of people posting these challenges, but what about the ones that are never posted because the person who tried them died
Just going to elaborate on the fractal wood burning one because I need y’all to understand how much that can kill you: the voltage required will make it so that you will die (or, if you’re lucky, you’ll be severely burned. Limb loss is not only possible but probable by the way) if any part of your body touches the device used to make the design, or the piece of wood. Yes, you can wear rubber gloves- but what if you shift to the side a little, and your hip bumps into the side of the board of wood? Death. What if there’s an unseen hole in your gloves? Death. What if someone tries to save you by trying to pull you away? Surprise, they’re dead too. It’s banned by most woodworking organizations for a reason.

I went through a really bad period of depression in 2020 and started using Benadryl to keep myself asleep, it got to the point where i’d take 5 or 6 at a time (im only about 100lbs) it got to the point where i was hallucinating. Its not something to take lightly

You could not pay me enough to participate in any TikTok trends, ESPECIALLY trying the Pink Sauce. That looks absolutely disgusting and was made by a person who basically didn’t even know what the “F” in FDA stood for lmao
Does anyone else remember the “ice and salt” challenge?! We did this long before posting challenges for views, back when we had flip phones. But what you do is put salt on the back of your hand, and then push an ice cube down on it, and it burns like a b**** and leaves a scar. This was the same era as the cinnamon challenge
Honestly, the (actually legal and currently sold) pink sauce is destined to fail. not only does it look like shit (and not pink), but it is based off of bad rep. Theyre doing the same thing Marvel tried to do when they re-released Morbius after all the fake love for it.
Some corrections on the pinksauce story: The sauce did NOT contain mayonnaise. This was pure speculation based off of the thickness and white colour needed for the sauce. How To Cook That confirmed by testing herself that it’s actually an emulsifier made form the dragon fruit and water which was actually very stable (She is also an actual food scientist) A lot of shade was also thrown towards MatPat for very blatantly partaking in the spread of misinformation as he does not have any actual qualifications to prove any of his claims, nor to my knowledge ever apologised when corrected The botulism accusations had to do with honey rather than milk And the incorrect label was a combination of mixing up numbers + spelling errors, as well as incorrect nutritional information not adding up to the supposed calorie amount *Not defending Pinksauce lady at all, she’s blatantly unprofessional and could’ve posed an actual risk to people and should’ve 100% been more careful* (not to mention respectful to her customers) A lot of misinformation has been spread by influencers to the point of actual slander painting Pii as intentionally malicious when no, she’s just EXTREMELY unprofessional which is still very bad
That reminds me of the dude who admitted to murdering his dad on twitter- I mean x and then saying “well he didn’t die in the hospital till 3 days later so it wasn’t me”

@Austin Harper well, if I had never heard the word out loud, I would probably associate with the next closest word, melanin. We're just adding a "to" in there but then we have to guess, is it "toe" or a short "te" sound? English is a tough language, you have to give everyone a pat on the back for attempting unknown words, even if it's their first language.

I think challenges like in the upper levels seem so stupid to us bc we're not teenagers anymore, we've grown out of this. Twenty-somethings did similarly dangerous challenges back in the day- the cinnamon challenge, the milk gallon challenge, the salt-and-ice challenge, the Kylie lap challenge with a shot glass. Some of those, especially the last one, sometimes had long-lasting effects and even left permanent scars! Kids gonna be kids, all we can do is try to warn them away.
Some people really need to teach their kids what can be dangerous, I was just told not to do anything stupid and as a young teen I haven't done anything that stupid like TikTok challenges yet so my parents done something right
Tbh I blame the fact we act like kids will be kids applies in your late teens and even early adulthood. Yeah, it might apply to a 10yr old, but at the point where your 18 beating your teacher damn near to death cause you saw someone do it on an app...it seems stupid cuz that's what it is. Knowing better, but doing it anyone is literally what separates stupidity for ignorance.
As for the kicking the door thing, also people with ptsd exist. We used to live in an apartment where these jerk-ass teenagers would come by every day and bang as loud as they could on our door because we had a polite "please don't knock on our door unless you are delivering mail" note on the door for years, but it wasn't a problem until these asshole teenagers started walking past our door. The sign was there because I have service-connected ptsd and can panic when I hear sudden loud noises. We also had several videos from our security camera of them doing it that we emailed to the management office, and they claimed it was "too blurry" to identify the jerks, which was untrue because our roommate worked in surveillance and said it's not blurry at all and if they management office "knew all the kids" like they claimed, they shouldn't have had any issues identifying them. The little shits never faced any consequences. Anyways, don't do things that disturb other people's lives. You never know if someone's a gun nut or if what you're doing is going to cause actual medical distress to them.
@@6nomemory6 They need a good slap through the face of the "the more you fuck around the more you're gonna find out" thing. They probably saw the note but still turned a blind eye to it because most people are so insensitive and selfish these days
I almost got in trouble once because I threatened a kid who did this to me. I also suffer from PTSD and every other day this damn brat would come by and knock, it was driving me insane to the point I woke up earlier and sat by the door to wait for him so I could catch his ass, but my mother called the police (so they'd make him stop) before I got the chance to actually do anything. I'm much better now with good treatment, but the sound of the door still messes with me a lot.
The devious lock trend was pretty funny at the time (to me) but now my school only has TWO bathrooms that everyone has to share. There are always lines just to go to the bathroom since they have to monitor people to make sure that they don’t steal stuff
I'd say, as long as you know what you're doing, and you still do these stupid challenges, you have to live (or unlive for that matter) with the consequences.

Although i've never done any of these challenges, I wanna provide my insight on the Benadryl Challenge. When I was in my early teens, I was going through a lot, and there were a few times when I tried to take my life. One of those was taking a LOT of Benadryl. Benadryl is a deliriant, and I remember being in that delirious state, hallucinating wildly, seeing things that weren't there and replying to conversations that never happened. It was super scary, and I dunno why the fuck anyone would want to do it for FUN
I know someone already said this, BUT THANK YOUU for putting subtitles. I have to rely on subtitles to watch videos. Loved the iceberg and information.
Ann Reardon from “How to Cook That” actually talked about fractal wood burning. Highly recommend to check it out, but essentially what’s happening is that the 120V/240V from the wall socket gets transformed to 2000V: extremely extremely and dangerously high amounts of electricity that can kill you instantly and fry through any insulation available on hand. It’s just not worth it because a small slip-up will mean the end of you
My local Walmart actually banned the sale of paintball guns, orbees and splatter balls to teens under the age of 18 for at least a month. We also had to lock up all LeBron James space jam toys due to head theft. You could only get them via online orders or online grocery pick-up.
same goes for things like air dusters. they had to check my ID and asked what my use for it was and I whispered something like, “i don’t know my boyfriend said it would help clean my phone” I didn’t even know people used it to get high 😭
This reminds me of that one video that got people to drill into their iPhone 7 because they thought that that would give them a headphone jack. All of these challenges feel like they are made in the same vain.
hmm perhaps this headphone jack isnt hooked up to electric signals and the like and i can just drill a hole in my 90$ iphone and turn it o- why wont it turn on
I think you skipped over it in the video (or I just wasn't paying attention), but my coworker had his car broken into literally yesterday (but thankfully not stolen because they couldn't start it) by people using the method from the Kia Challenge.
stuff like this has existed forever. maybe not to the scale of today, since we have social media. i'm from the balkans and when i was in 8th grade i remember being a lot of fuss and warnings ( in retrospection i think it had a pit of truth to it but people exagerated it ) in the media, in schools about a challenge or a game called the blue whale which promoted self harm and other dangerous "tasks" leading up to the 50th day task in which the player had to jump off a building or hang himself. this whole ordeal was relevant for like 6 months, then it became irrelevant ( at least where I lived ).
Omg I'm from the UK and kids in my school would talk about it all the time. I don't think the adult knew about it though but I think it was on the news though
I remember this one, this challenge was extremely popular in south america, there were even big FB pages talking all about "La ballena azul" and it's participants

We love your dedication for a funny bit, but please don't ever risk your personal well being to do it. Even if it was a little bit of nyquil, you could of gotten fucked up.
taking notes here
If you believe Matpat, it was never a true challenge, the media just blew it out of proportion

It absolutely amazes, baffles, and terrifies me that TikTok is still up and a thing. We gotta get TikTok outta here, it’s causing more harm than good.
Or just buy like halloween fake vampire teeth
The magnetic ball one and it being accidentally swallowed, I'm sure it is well known but if not, its hella dangerous. If one magnet is on one side of your organs and is magnetized to the other, could cause severe organ tearing and internal bleeding. Shit scary asf

As a person who ate a magentic ball (dont worry, i ate it on accident, it landed on my meal somehow and i swallowed it i think?), its INCREDIBLY dangerous, i spent days with my lower abdomen aching, multiple days without using the bathroom and vomiting, fortunately, i’ve gotten a surgery and survived BUT the chances of living from the surgery is 50/50, so, if some kid or whatever ate those magnetic balls wether on purpose or on accident, its gonna be hard and scary to know if they’ll live or not

Someone stole the soap dispenser
From 5 bathrooms.

The fact that just a few years ago, the most dangerous challenge was the cinnamon challenge, and now we get stuff like this
Next we’re gonna get the “become a registered SO challenge”
Never saw your channel, but I'm pretty sure your gonna take off. Let's go my man!
These challenges is why we have to ID people at Walmart when buying things that you wouldn’t think you would need to ID for
The most dangerous challenge I remember being around was the cinnamon challenge.

That’s always such a dark thing to realize but he’s right

Every time I hear about the benadryl challenge, it makes me remember people posting the most soul crushing stories of addiction on the r/DPH subreddit. Honestly, the (actually legal and currently sold) pink sauce is destined to fail. not only does it look like shit (and not pink), but it is based off of bad rep. Theyre doing the same thing Marvel tried to do when they re-released Morbius after all the fake love for it.
Some corrections on the pinksauce story:
The sauce did NOT contain mayonnaise. This was pure speculation based off of the thickness and white colour needed for the sauce. How To Cook That confirmed by testing herself that it’s actually an emulsifier made form the dragon fruit and water which was actually very stable (She is also an actual food scientist) A lot of shade was also thrown towards MatPat for very blatantly partaking in the spread of misinformation as he does not have any actual qualifications to prove any of his claims, nor to my knowledge ever apologised when corrected
The botulism accusations had to do with honey rather than milk
And the incorrect label was a combination of mixing up numbers + spelling errors, as well as incorrect nutritional information not adding up to the supposed calorie amount
*Not defending Pinksauce lady at all, she’s blatantly unprofessional and could’ve posed an actual risk to people and should’ve 100% been more careful* (not to mention respectful to her customers)
A lot of misinformation has been spread by influencers to the point of actual slander painting Pii as intentionally malicious when no, she’s just EXTREMELY unprofessional which is still very bad

Ok but who doesn’t know how to pronounce “melatonin” he was sayin “Melotnin”

I'm a teenager. This seems stupid because it is stupid, and is being done by stupid people.
i didn't do anything like this.... if i was curious about something.... i found test subjects...
Im still a boy but still not being urge to do it wow
Some people really need to teach their kids what can be dangerous, I was just told not to do anything stupid and as a young teen I haven't done anything that stupid like TikTok challenges yet so my parents done something right
Tbh I blame the fact we act like kids will be kids applies in your late teens and even early adulthood. Yeah, it might apply to a 10yr old, but at the point where your 18 beating your teacher damn near to death cause you saw someone do it on an app...it seems stupid cuz that's what it is. Knowing better, but doing it anyone is literally what separates stupidity for ignorance.
The further I get into this video the more I'm convinced TikTok should be banned and deleted completely.
Good job, mate.

When I was in my early teens, I was going through a lot, and there were a few times when I tried to take my life. One of those was taking a LOT of Benadryl.
