Set my heart on a festool and was saving up but as a diy-er I can get the erbauer and buy another major tool for the price of the festool
@@alienscientist8893 I'd imagine he has already got one by now,😂 and DeWalt are a lot for a DIY guy, I'm a chippy, I've had DeWalt for 15 years now and they ain't what they was, especially the cordless tools, I've had 2 batteries pack up in last 6 Month both 5ah 18v and both less than a year old,🤔 something has been made cheaper
@@MegaFunnyman86
Good review, we've had loads of Makita and Dewalt tools over the years but in the last 18 months we've started buying a few Erbaur cordless tools because we're landscapers and our tools end up getting wet and covered in shite so whatever we're buying gets a real hard life.
I was at one time an avid makita man but I just don't think their gear is as good as it once was. The Erbaur stuff is definitely more cost effective for our type of work and it's certainly up to the job. Keep up the good work fellas. 👍
Thumbs up fellas. I haven't even finished the video yet. Love your work.
AFAIK, Erbauer, MacAllister,Triton, Titan, Aldi's Workzone/Ferrox and Lidl's Parkside are all made by the same company - Positec. I bought the Workzone plunge saw for £80 and it works sweet. For other tools I have Hitachi or Makita but didn't see the cost benefit for a tool I'm not going to use as much. Also Hitachi (now Hi-Koki) have really put their prices up.
I have used titan, work zone, macallister, erbauer,
I must say erbauer is by far the best out of all the above you mentioned
Apart from your big brands obviously
Once I’d corrected the 90deg cut, replaced the blade, fettled the base slots to run parrallel with the blade, it cut like a dream. Don’t expect too much straight out of the box.
Very fair review, and unexpected. “Nothing wrong with that” “it’s a good tool”. Nice to hear honest opinions, fair to say you pros wouldn’t want one but no snobbery. Thanks Skill Builder. (I’ve got some Erbauer from their new brushless range, pleasantly surprised!)
Love the videos chaps, using it to refurbish a house I bought, does the job perfect for me, I hate the anti kick back feature on it, like you said some times you want to run the saw back.
just started to watch these vids i like diy and probably could get by on half the tools i have but i just love tools These vids right up my street well done guys keep up the good work cheers
Thanks for the review. I just bought one of these from Screwfix yesterday for £134.99. (10% discount for a few days).
Could I ask what you was cutting and if it was any good?
@@michaelcoles6140 I have used this saw for chipboard, OSB and 18mm ply. I bought it to make some wardrobes and it did the job. I would class it as a good DIY tool rather than for trade but that is reflected in the price. The depth adjustment knob feels flimsy but works. The motor is powerful and cuts without any issues. The track is fine and it cuts straight with the aid of the track clamps. Would I buy it again? Yes. I hope this helps.
@@henrymurphy5284 hi thanks for the reply, I went and bought one it seems the depth is wrong on mine by 8mm and the saw cuts out as it goes through 18mm chip so It seems as if I got a dodge one 🤦♂️ only wanted a cheap one so I could buy some more Milwaukee tools but wished I got the makita 4ov now.
Bit of a half-hearted review just because it's cheap.. I suggest you look at the instructions and study the machine a bit more, than just a quick glance at it. You didn't really tell us anything apart from you don't like the anti kick back and cuts 67mm deep. That is 67mm is off the tracks. Really bad review because it's cheap. Look at the Bosch saw how rubbish was that. Talking about erbauer poor build quality things flapping around at least it seated on the tracks properly. For the money it's a good machine. Think you should review this again.
I take it you have this saw
I was hoping for a more in depth and informative review too...
Is the depth gauge calibrated for on-track use?
And is it accurate?
Are the trueing cams effective at consistently aligning it on the track?
Is the blade in-line with the 90 and 45⁰ marks on the front edge of the plate?
Is the track compatible with track squares such as Benchdog's?
100% i have 2 of them great wee saws... people think you need all the big names in tools. But you really dont..
Master review from experienced guys.
And I quote 'It's a brushed motor, its an old fashioned motor' I wonder if you'd say the same if you were reviewing the Festool.
Is the TSC 55 cordless track saw brushless?
Stick around and you will see I do not lavish praise upon Fetool.
Yes it is.
Brushless is in needed for battery tools because it’s way more efficient!
Brushed motors way more heavy duty and can be serviced that’s why you hardly see them in corded tools
Thanks for the review Guys,
I was looking at a track saw to trim 11 oak doors to fit existing frames,
The erbauer saw works great straight out of the box, i added another track section to allow trimming the width,
It leaves a nice clean finish , not found the anti kick back an issue as one pass does the job ,
For dust extraction , i cut the neck off the bag adapter and pushed it into the saw outlet, my henry hoover hose now fits snugly into the saw and leaves hardly any dust, the bag or no hoover leaves a lot of sawdust,
I have a trend blade ready to fit still in the wrapper, wasn’t expecting the supplied blade to do such a good job,
Quality video, practical and helpful - nice one!
I bought this for a job a few years ago when my ts55 was being serviced, the anti-kickback was immediately removed, the 700mm rails are handy when cutting smaller sized sheets so now this saw only ever gets used when Iv to cut cement board
I got one of these and took the stupid kick back nob off straight away. Then its an incredible tool for the money.
This was my first tract saw. I did not like the power button. I now have the TS55
Very good and Honest review. I enjoyed the review so much I've subscribed. Good job Guys. Cheers
Great vid guys
Update! Just bought one of these and they're now guaranteed for 3 years!
Would have been good to see it go through some oak or 30mm MDF
The vacuum looked decent..😉
Think Roger doesn't like Erbauer. Now if ABACUS made one ...
Did these guys forget the clamps ? They keep saying the track might move. If its got to be cut correct I would be using the clamps.
Hardly anyone uses the clamps. The track is usually good enough
Using these track being that they are 700mm and a door is 762mm. When the saw is fully engaged on yhe track the blade doesn't cut the rear edge of the door. You can only go in one direction. If I use both tracks to 1400mm the ends for the clamps are in thin air, or at least one is. Any professional ideas?
The extra blade diameter is a bit of an advantage.
Great video guys but looking at some of the comments I think some are getting their Titan & Triton mixed up.
Great series of videos guys. Just wondered if you had any experience of Scheppach tools in general?
Wait does that mean the festool would run on the Erbauer track?
Yes but they don't sell the track. Only in the kit or I would go for the cheap track
I thonk Makita, erbauer, festool and Tiatan are all compatible...
Yes the festool and these cheaper are comparable, the Mafell will also run on this style track too.
You can get the track-set from Westfalia. They have the same saw under their brand and with a case and the tracks seperatly for about 70,-. But it's without the bag and the clamps.
Hi guys, just bought one of these so thanks for the vid. Can I ask what dust extraction adaptor are you using? regards, John
Axminster tools do a tapered hoover adapter, you cut it to size to fit your hoover
had the Erbauer oscillating tool corded, and it was really good. only problem was the hex key blade change.
Seems like Detroit, Bayer and Triton have the same OEM as this Erbauer. Parts like the plastic moulding for the handle, rail adjustment knobs and blade positioning switches are the same
Did I fall asleep or did you forget to cut a 45 degree?
Ozito Track Saw from Bunnings.
Daniel Mehlhopt Bunnings gone tits up here in U.K.
Ozito brand is available from Homebase but not the track saw
What is the best saw to get accurate straight cuts from mdf
handy men, handy women.... handy people?
oh fvck off
Anyone have any experience with the Excel Plunge Saw??
Cant you remove the anti kick back off
I'm a DIYer and couldn't justify the cost of a Festool or Makita for the amount I'll use it so bought the Erbauer and 2x1400 Evolution tracks. The anti-kickback came off before the first cut, way too much drag - a good idea poorly executed. Slow start really is slow, you have to wait for the saw to be up to speed. Great value - you get the saw, tracks, track bag, joiners and clamps. Downsides: It's heavy and being Erbauer there'll be no spares so if it breaks it's a bin job but it does have a 2 year warranty and most importantly, the quality of the cut is excellent - easily as good as the Makita SP6000 I borrowed before buying this.
ye stop was off before the first cut to ha.. do the evolutions tracks fit mate, im looking for a 8 foot for my erbauer, im a carpenter and think the saw is great for the price, great finish and power
@@mymate18 yes, the saw works fine on the Evolution tracks, they're reasonably priced and, like the Erbauer tracks they come with a bag, joiners and clamps.
Got mine 2nd/3rd hand few weeks ago, new clamps needed and new blade but for 30 quid the tracks alone are worth the cost. Gonna get evolution tracks soon as they seem to get good feedback.
@@TheFazer1992 I bought a set of 2 1400 mm Evolution tracks from Toolden. They work fine with the Erbaur saw.
Out of curiosity, if using the evolution tracks what’s the downside in using their track compatible circular saw which is way cheaper? Does a dedicated plunge saw off much different?
I thought the screwfix branding was Titan not Erbauer
Erbauer is a Screwfix brand and they jointly developed Titan power tools with Brico Dépôt.
Skill Builder and Brico is owned by Screwfix - isn’t it all a wicked web they weave.😂
Erbauer tools are now also being sold by B&Q.
My biggest gripe about Erbauer is that you cannot buy spare parts and once the tool is out of warranty there is no option of a repair facility. It is essentially a throw away tool once it breaks! One reason I didn't buy their bench top thicknesser, they don't even sell spare blades!
Mechanoid 57 All part of the Kingfisher group. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kingfisher_plc
Erbauer saws I've had potentially lethally dangerous. Frightening. Described over phone in middle of night and, to be fair, they said to return immediately. Screwfix returns policy is a reason I use them. Other Erbauer tools I've tried just feel clumsy. Totally agree with need to practice with such gear
I dont understand why in every review peoole are not happy with antikick back feature , it is actually great because a saw on a track if kicks back will damage a lot
It makes it hard to move back on the rail. Once you know what you are doing the saw should not kick back
I took it off mine because it was causing excess friction moving the saw forwards - enough to move the rails if not clamped. Pity because I agree that it should be a good safety feature.
When’s the Dewalt video?
Dewalt is Episode #5 which is coming up on Friday 19th October.
Brill, just before my birthday 😂👍
Thanks
I presume u can remove the anti-kickback device... 😎👌
One screw and it is gone, but we couldn't suggest that just incase somebody has an accident.
The Erbauer track is straight and accurate, but the saw slows down and a tops mid cut. Not a good look
Could you suggest a decent low end track saw, Cheers
You are looking at it in this video
Thanks
@@SkillBuilder Can I ask what track is compatible with that saw , I was looking at the Powertec55" on Amazon . Didn't want to buy if the track wont fit. Great channel Thanks again
@@madforit9661 it is compatible with powertec track. That track is good for Mikita, Festool and other plunge saws.
@@richardlug6139 Thanks, I will place my order for it now.
Great saw especially ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxxnKxcY0vm4xjW8xkPbjaHuKt10gr-wG_ considering how drastically cheaper it is than every other track saw on the market. Only things I would mention is replace the blade immediately, the 24 tooth blade supplied leaves a lot to be desired.
good'o'eh wot
Pretty sure that's what the f clamps are for to stop the track from moving around but hey we can't all know what there for can we not a very good review at all
Strange comment Stephen. We know what the clamps do but you will harldy ever see anyone use them because the track stays where it is most of the time. If you are cutting something really expensive then you clamp it but mostly you rely on the rubber.
Erbauer, “only for diy’ers” sorry but no self respecting trade is buying this crap from screwfix
Wrong
Cmon you boys went to screwfix and bought the cheapest they had, ended up with erbauer because you aint good enough to earn enough to buy the quality tool. Erbauer is all junk
Its all about reliability, quality tools set the pros apart from the diy ers, if you came on my site with an erbauer i would laugh 😆 have a look at the brushes for starters, the nylon gears compared to cast gears. You keep buying cheap crap, i will buy quality... once
Even you and your erbauer could make me look like a weekend warrioir, im a groundworker.
I will but not the cheapest on the market, no erbauer for me and my men because im a pro
