LOL, hard to believe that my 2 favorite YT channels (you and Fish the Moment) have tube videos on the same day, guess it's a thing and I'll give it a try, thanks again man!
Fellow BFL co-angler here, I like to fish a stupid tube a lot behind my boaters. I don’t really like seeing videos about the stupid tube, it’s kind of a forgotten presentation, but I do appreciate you teaching our competition how to fish it wrong, gonna lose a lot of fish throwing it like that. They’ll never know, keep it up gabe😉 😆☺️ see you on the LBL next year.
It's a great bait for sure. Good luck in the BFL's. Not sure what you mean by fishing it wrong. There's a lot of ways to fish it and they all work at certain times. You can slit the tube for better hook ups but bending the hook out is probably the most important tweak. And setting the hook hard.
@@TheTinHorseMonty I guess what’s right for someone could be wrong for another. I’d never bend the hook out, that’s asking to get snagged and lose fish, you lost that big one at the boat because of the hook being bent out just enough I reckon. You’ve got to drive that hook as deep as possible and that’s not consistently possible with the way you have it setup.
@@firstlightangler6049 Appreciate the feedback. I'm bending the hook out slightly because it's an EWG. I do the same thing with a frog at times. It's not enough to get snagged or cause the hook to open up and loose fish. Sometimes fish just come unbuttoned. It happens.
I agree with you that the Stupid Tube is definitely underutilized here in the Midwest. It is an effective presentation though, and I think that you'll get some people to try it with this video. You gave good, clear, concise instruction on how to rig it, so there's no reason them not to try it. And if they do, they will be glad they did. Good vid brother 👌
@@TheTinHorseMonty I use the Eagle Claw Tube Head. It's a light wire hook so you have to be a little more careful, but I loose less of them because of it, so it works out.
finally upsized my boat ...after seeing ron’s southfork boat video .....time to say goodbye to my lowe 1240 ....i purchased a southfork last week ......highly impressed with build quality...welds looks amazing ....now time to start modifying it ...deck , floor .etc ...been doing business with harrison’s sport shop for 30 years ...highly recommend harrison ....ask for david or bill ...!!!!
One more really good video Gabe, I am a big tube guy. From catching smallmouth on Lake Erie to flipping for largemouth. A tube is a great bait, a couple tips always rough up a new tube, and soak your tubes in scent.
Great video, you are dead on with color and method. Been fishing these very 2 colors for over 30 years and have caught many fish over 7 pounds including a 9 using this method, and numbers too when its right. It was extremely popular years ago but it seems its use has fallen off in tournament fishing but it will get you bit. They are a great night bait too when you stick a rattle in the middle of them. Rattle causes some missed hook ups but they flat bite it. Thanks and I will be looking up more of your videos...
Hey Gabe that's the first bait I started using when I got serious about bass and I think it's underutilized these days. Especially with all the different techniques. I use charmer and I use Debs dynamite to i never used a tube on baitcasting equipment. Because I use to use them smallmouth fishing in clear water. I live in Missouri where there is nothing but wood and rock . I'll have to try the baitcasting equipment. Thanks for the great tips and takeing the time to make these videos for us. God bless you and your family. Ps nice smallmouth. Hey Bentley was ready to get the armadillo.
I fished the same color tube from Charmer for years. It's great in stained water. I've been using the Crock O Gator tube lately and I like it. I think I get a better hook set with a bait caster but what ever works works. Finley is the boat protector LOL
You did good showing how to rig the stupid tube. Only problem I have is trying to find the right jig/head. The only ones I’ve found around here have a tapered head and tends to split the tube just behind the eye. Still works though. Good video.👍🏼
Yamamoto makes a weight just for tubes. It's square small and has a hole drilled through the top of it. You slide the weight inside the tube. Then just tie on a hook and put the hook through the tube , through the hole in the weight out other side of tube and just basically Texas rig except the weight is inside the tube. Same action and the head of the tube doesn't get ripped up nearly as bad or fast as using the weight molded into the hook.
I threw the tube yesterday, I didn’t catch one on it but I did catch my first 2 jerkbait bass. I love trying new techniques and coming back to some I’ve given up on too soon.

I guess it's TUBE TIME Kevin. I'll check out his video. I think the tube is underutilized.
Best stupid tube breakdown and tutorial out there. Top-notch content Gabe.
Thanks Cody. Really appreciate the feedback. I hope a few people start using it and catching some fish on it.

Couldn't agree more. It's a sneaky bait. What jig head do you use?

Good to see Finley back on the boat.
Thanks. She loves it!
I love the jon boat set up, looks like a fish catching machine
Hey thanks for stopping by. I saw you on Debo's Livestream. It's been a great boat and I've caught a few fish out of it.
Your content is great. Love the mix of live action and teaching.
Appreciate it Jason!

Awesome. That's exciting Tim. I've heard good things about Harrisons. We will have a jon boat build livestream soon with BTC from Bass University.
That's a neat jig head your using. Nice video.
Thanks Don. You would like it.
Thanks Gabe. Excellent description of the set up, and great tip on fishing it.
Appreciate it Robert.
Good stuff Gabe 👍👍🎣🎣
Thanks Darius.
Another Nice on the water footage and narration Gabe😁
Thanks Daniel.

Great tips and video! Thanks for sharing with all of us!
Welcome Cody. Appreciate the support buddy!!
Great video! Thanks!
Thanks Neil. You are welcome.

I went fishing today without her and I missed having a companion in the boat with me.

Thanks for the feedback Stan. I remember when Denny Brauer made the black neon tube famous. It's forgotten now. Thanks for checking out the video.
Great info Gabe, tube a under use bait . A lot of different ways to rig it according what your doing. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Bill. It's a great bait.
Thanks, hey first armadillo I have seen that wasn't road kill lol

The jigheads I have found the lead is more elongated and the one your using is more of a ball shape. Where can I get one like the one your using?
Brad that's the main problem I have found with commercial jig models. A buddy of mine pours the ones I use unfortunately.

Thanks DJ. Some people use a shakeyhead. There's a need for a good stupid tube jig head.

Never been a tube guy but you convinced me. I need to make an order fast because I can see it being deadly right now.
Give it another try Richard.

Glad you caught a few Jeff. They're still hitting that jerkbait. I'm the same way. Always trying to learn something new.
Those are my 2 favorites as well, and I was thinking the same thing. What are the odds….
LOL Small world I guess 😎
How does that ultrex work on that aluminum? I got a 16' Fisher thinking about buying one
I love it Jeremy. Highly recommend it. My boat is an XPress 1650. I have the 80 lb thrust 24 volt.

OK Thanks Daniel.
This is a case where that old adage can be positive, "Stupid is, as Stupid does", haha.
