I’d be interested to know how these run. I’m not fundamentally opposed to split chassis models. I think the problem with the Mainline ones that I have is the crappy motor rather than the split chassis. On drivers without a gear wheel I’ve successfully repaired a number of mine using sections of a Biro refill cut to gauge. All the best Rob
Nice work Dan. I really like the old Ivatts I've got one myself. Those insulated screw mounts that were broken, do you happen to know if they are all the same size in other locos? Or at least the same diameter. I've only ever pulled the Ivatt apart that far, my other split chassis locos are still DC only. If they are, or many of them are, perhaps I could print some up and send you a dozen for spares to see what you think of them. Cheers!
