- A walk from the Macclesfield canal (bridge 58) to Bosley Reservoir, 29th June 2021. The reservoir was very low on water!

Thanks for the meander, always glad when you get away from the traffic noise.
Thanks for taking us on this walk, Phil. Really enjoyable. And nice to see the Murgons are still keeping an eye on you! 🤗
Yes they are!
Time to treat yourself to some good walking boats!
About 17:30 in to the video I was complaining to myself about the traffic noise - but I realised when you got back in the field having the tranquil sounds of nature the traffic noise was necessary for me to appreciate the quietness (if that makes sense).
Another beautiful video, thank you
Thank you. I hate the sound of traffic also.

Another lovely video, I think we are going to have to call you "Phil The Intrepid Hiker", you are taking us to some beautiful locations that I would love to walk myself but unfortunately I'm not physically capable of doing.
Once again thank you.
John The Fisherman.
Thank you. I've got another walk planned, and it's another steep one! Just waiting for the right weather for it if possible...
Very much enjoyed this walk! Thank you for bringing us along.
Thanks for watching
A walk from a Macclesfield
Enjoy the day walking
We really enjoyed that. When you reached The Queens Arms and turned right, if you had turned left and gone to the crossroads and turned left, we stay on a farm on that road. Yes it's busy, but we love the farm.
We spent many evenings having meals in the Queens Head, and were gutted when it closed. Sad to see it half overgrown.
We were holding our breaths in case you slipped over in that squidgy mud!!
Thank you. I wasn't sure if the pub was open or not?
No it closed 1 or 2 years ago. We are hoping to come up mid September, and that will be our first visit for 2 years!
Great walk Phil. Not a well used pathway that one. The farmers seemed surprised to see a walker
At least the farmers were friendly. 😉
What a brave trail blazer you are...had me a bit concerned there at that first muddy part....I do love a good adventure. Enjoyed this very much..😊. Thank you so very much!😊!
Thanks 👍
Hello Phil, Liked the trails and the water views! I hope you bring bottled water with you! Cheers!
Interesting to see you @5:35 choosing the path with the MOST resistance in order not to slip Phil lol. Quite a worry seeing that reservoir so low. Another classic canal walk, very enjoyable as always.
I had walked that way before but I forgot it was muddy there.
Nice video again Phil. On one of our trips to Macclesfield, we stayed in a cottage at Bosley and one of my morning runs took in that part of the reservoir. We went up again a little while ago and apparently the Queens Arms at Bosley has now closed down. A pity because we had a few pleasant Sunday lunches there over the years. All the best.
Hello Phil. Some of the footpaths are very overgrown and muddy. Not the place for wearing shorts. Some glorious bird song. That’s the advantage of walking quietly on your own. The lack of signage is a common problem in many places, I’m afraid. You get through a gate on one side of the field, but it’s very difficult to spot a gate or stile on the other side. So unless the path is well used, you can be in trouble. Beautiful, interesting walk, as usual. Thanks.
Thank you. I've had to turn around and go back on several occasions because the paths and stiles were completely overgrown.
Thanks Phil, a lovely walk but a tricky one by the look of. Take care. Hope you enjoyed it too!!
Thank you, I did.
To bad you didn't show us more of the church.. Would have loved to have seen some close ups of architecture and the inside... But I still enjoyed the video!!!
Really enjoyed this, you did well keeping your footing on the first part 👍🏻
My shoes were very slippy!
What a great walk but my goodness Phil what a muck you had to walk through at the start. Thank you for sharing. So interesting. Worrying about the water though in the reservoir.
Thank you. I'm glad I'm on the lower side of the locks now.
Lovely walk nice to come along 🥰
Quite a walk! Thanks
@14:15 what was that 🤖👽? And your cat's would have loved that Walk 💚😺😾👌💨✌☕ well some of it anyway 🙏
That was the Murgons! ;-)
I remember in the early 50s trains on that line...
good vid keep up the good vid stay safe lee
I needed that walk …had a headache today. probably from all the barometric pressure changes going on… gave me a good excuse to relax and “walk” with you. Do the kitties go back aboard while you’re out adventuring? Lovely scenery, even with the mud.. thx💜
Glad you enjoyed it. The cats can come and go as they please. They are only shut in when I'm moving the boat.
I'm surprised at the water level , given the amount of rain we have had this year unless there's a engineering reason for it .
It's partly because Todbrook reservoir has failed and most of the water is now taken from Bosley.
Sadly the reservoir looks distressingly like ours in Arizona.
Even when we get rain it doesn't seem to replenish the water levels by much.
14:14 :D
Why don't you download your summer walks in the winter would be even more charming then
UFOs again!
Does`nt look good for the summer season ahead on the canal with such low water
It's entirely possible that the locks could be more seriously restricted if there is no rain.
