Great demonstration mate I have one of these units installed on an off grid sit in Tasmania however in very cold weather you must limit the water flow to minimal to let the unit heat up ......mark my words I learnt the hard way
Yes. So the water spends more time in the soil to heat up.
It's great in warmer months, we did the same thing a while back until we tried to shower out camping at 0 degrees. The manufacturer states it only heats 25 degrees above ambient temp, they recommend cycling water into a bucket to heat and reuse and heat again but we use the tanks built into our camper for an internal shower. Overall you'll be showering in 25 degree water (which is less than lukewarm) in near freezing conditions. Hopefully this helps you before you get caught out as we did haha
Yes, they are good but they have their limitations. I have yet to use mine on the caravans internal tank and only on mains water.
Obviously depends on the brand you use.. its been 50 degrees lately and ours goes scalding hot
I’m ready to hook one up to the family caravan now haha thanks mate 🤙
It's been awesome for our little caravan and no gas certification required.
This is awesome! Do you think you could just install the water heater inside the caravan and have it set up permanently?
I have a mate that has one permanently mounted to his drawer bar but you wouldn't be able to have it inside as it would create too much carbon monoxide and suffocate anyone inside.
Hi mate great setup. Hows tge the unit going nearly 1 year on? Ive heard mixed reviews on kings gear so a bit worried about their hot water system. Also, does it take long to heat up, amd what about when it gets hot and then yiu say turn it off for a minute while you lather up with soap and then turn it back on, does it take heaps to get hot/warm? Thanks mate
G'day Geoff. Still going well. Heats up quick (obviously quicker in summer). The only downer is that it's not waterproof so I can't leave it setup if it looks like rain.
Thanks mate 👍
What hose did you youse for your hot water line to mixer tap
Food Grade Multi-Purpose Reinforced Pressure Hose. Purchased from Bunnings.
Has anyone found a cradle to hold the shower head to a wall? It would be handy to have in the cold
@anthonykhoudair9730 yes I have. I have a 12 volt shower system that has a little holder for the shower head and it fits the kings shower head.
So if you plug this unit to main water it only needs gas?
Does it work without power?
@lucadipasquale2231 yes and the power is provided by 2 D cell batteries which fires the igniter on demand.
@@AllThingsOutdoors how long does the battery last?
@@lucadipasquale2231 still on the original set of batteries and have had the unit for 2 years and used about a dozen times.
@AllThingsOutdoors oh wow.
Awesome.... looks like im going for a trip down kings
@@lucadipasquale2231 I can't fault it so far.
Hey mate how did you connect it to the main, did you need any other fittings or anything?
I got a garden hose bayonet fitting with a threaded reducer that fit the thread of the input of the heater unit.
@@AllThingsOutdoors hey mate could you please tell me where I could get this exact part? Cheers
@@1993mizzo I just picked it up from Bunnings.
What size t piece did you use please
@kentweedale2967 this is the link to the tee I used from bunnings

Your so clever
u dont need to put thread tape on the male thread onto the flexi to tap.
It was leaking so I used thread tape to seal it.
