This is the kind of camping/4wdriving videos i love to see. 4wd24-7 and most of those others have turned into product placement videos, no actual down to the grits getting out into the bush and living. Even if this is literally a video on a single product, its still way better then those others. "oh its a runva" or "get a beer out of the dometic." Its a hot water system and you show how you guys use it. 78k subscribers is a crime for a channel like this. Needs many many more!

Hi, if you purchase a 13mm brass one way valve and place it on your garden hose, you can then place the water filter and pickup just below the valve. Fill the garden hose with water connect it to the inlet on the pump. This way the pump can remain close to your vehicle. If you weld a short piece of pipe onto you roo-bar in a vertical orientation. Then purchase a length of aluminum tubing, long enough to give you a decent head clearing and use a diameter that will fit snugly into the tube you welded to your roo-bar. Purchase a length of aluminum tubing fashion it into a basket ball ring bend it around a 44 gallon drum. Weld the ends of the tube together and add a short spike vertically to the ring so that the spike will fit snugly into your vertical length of tubing. Fix a plastic shower curtain via rings to the basket ball ring. Suspend a wire or plastic shower basket from the ring for soap etc, purchase a rubber front door mat to stand on. Hang a butchers hook off the ring to hang your towel and clean cloths on. Now you will be clamping and your missus will dig it. You can now shower naked with privacy anywhere you like. It worked for me wink wink. instead of that big box of stuff I fashioned a heat exchanger out of a 350 x 150mm copper pipe. I place coils of 3/8 soft walled copper tube inside the 150mm drilled two 13mm holes in the top of the 150mm silver soldered to 13mm uprights into those holes and soldered the two ends of the 3/8 to them. I clamped garden hose to them (this is for the cold water). I found the diameter of the heater hose coming from the vehicle engine block, mine was 19mm I cut that rubber tube inserted 2 x19mm T pieces. I then drilled and soldered 2 x 19mm copper uprights into the 150mm copper tube on the same plain as the 2 x13mm cold water pipes. I silver soldered 2 x 150mm welsh plugs into the 2 ends of the 150mm tube to seal the exchanger. I used heater tube to run between the 2 x 19mm tubes and the 2 x 19mm T's.
When your vehicle engine warms up use a 12V pump which I mounted on the inner guard of the engine bay to pump cold water through the 3/8th coils, the engine circulated the radiator coolant through the 19mm heater tubes in the150mm copper tube, heating the cold water in the process. (flowing cold water can reach boiling point) I used a garden nylex Y junctions with water flow regulator tabs fixing the shower rose with on /off switch via a length of garden hose to the Y junction. Now run the hot water to the second point of the Y junction. I then placed another Y junction coming of the cold water pick up pipe and ran a second piece of garden hose between the two Y junctions. You can then regulate both hot and cold water pressure and temperature via the Y junction with the two regulator tabs. You can then ditch that big box of goodies and the gas bottle. You have instant boiling water for a cuppa on call. PS I have mounted this same system to every 4x4 I have owned in the last 40 years with out any issues. Use stainless steel adjustable hose clamps through the system. use good quality garden hose with fibre insert.

Looks like a great complete hot water system kit. I like how it all packs into the one container too. But IMO this is more suited for caravans, camper-vans and or camper trailers. Or 4WDs with a huge canopy setup. For a wagon style 4WD, it takes too much valuable space. I have an 80 Series, and only go camping with my GF, and we have hardly any space left. Imagine if you have kids onboard also.

My shower setup in my 105 is just the companion rechargeable camp shower and a 23zero shower awning, we just heat up a pot of water on the stove then drop the showers pump into that, takes up barely any space since the shower fits into a tiny bag and we already have the pots for cooking

Vent on top when I purchased mine was fitted back to front and wouldnt let the gas heat out and shut down and the last one only happenned 1 month ago and that is make sure you have good batteries as poor batteries no igniter.I am also running 8ltr/min 12v pump ,gravity fed from tank with Bunnings filter ,black with 1/2 in in and out and 40 minute showers no worries.

Quality promotional product demo. You're a natural. It looks like a solid bit of kit. Just one problem, it takes far too much space. Even if it all packs into one tub, it's still far too big. Joolna needs to come up with a more compact kit.

Nice video. Looks a little bulky though. Another point, Biodegradable soap still hurts fish and riparian areas UNTIL it biodegrades and that takes some time. So, biodegradable soap is not good to use directly in a stream but should be used some distance from the water source.

The method and ease of use of the shower head, how it is easy to turn on and off, amazing. The setup is easy also, all the attachments you need that work perfectly.

    Wind blows the flame out
When u turn it off and then back on it takes ages to heat, wasting water
Too much fiddling around on initial setup getting desired temp correct, wasting water.
Gas cylinders are a pain to carry, let alone 9kgs of gas.
Id rather have a little 6L 12v water heater, less water wastage and temp is spot on everytime.

Pro tip, having a 12 volt ( seaflo ) portable water pump i use to refill van tanks etc from a river or what not, i use a 3 dollar bunnings garden stake, punch that into the bank or similar, tie off the pump suction inlet just at the top of the water line as not to suck air, but also not to suck sediment, i do use an old water bottle as a float some times as well. Yes it has a pre filter, however, less grit and shit in your pump wont fu ck it. less dirt at the top of the water line than 6 inches under.

In other words just follow what I'm saying: just in case my hot water tank goes out in my home, so no more hot water obviously... but I still want to have hot water to wash dishes with and shower with. So can I just keep the unit and propane tank outside, but take a 25 or 50 foot garden hose and dip it into the 5 gallon bottle and get hot water?? Kind of confused 🤔, so summing it all up, I want the entire unit but I want to get hot water from a 5 gallon water bottle and that's it. Nothing else... can I do it?? 🤔...oh and just in case my water company cuts my water off because of non payment or emergency purposes, so that's why i want to use a 5 gallon water bottle instead of a pump.

I think a heat exchanger is better suited to your size of setup

So much quicker than a tin can and a fire.... just unload the crate of equipment. Run out 20m of hose and power cable. Hook up a pump and a tap and a gas bottle. Do your dishes. And then start the 20 minutes of packing it all up again..
Dont get me wrong it has its place but compact and quick it is not.

Definitely get a shower awning on the other side of your vehicle so it's not making the ground muddy in your 'living space'

Hey mate good video, that starting section needs a little more work on the sound mixing. On the headphones it’s not too bad but any mid range speakers end up losing enough detail that it’s a bit of effort to distinguish your voice.
Not a major thing but figured you’d want to know.

It looks OK for a large set up with unlimited water and space but for overlanding I much prefer the companion aquaheat

My dad bought a kings gas hot water and setup and use is literally the exact same from my experiences with it id say it preforms just as well as the one in this video only downside to the kings one is it doesn't come with all the features like this one with the adapters carry tub / sink etc its literally just got a shower head but you could quite easily make a sink and other attachments for what it is works quite well and id guess is alot cheaper then this brand for those on a budget just be aware quility control on kings is shit and you might have a very different experience with the product to my dad and myself ive had friends buy the same kings product as me and there's has died on the first use so the quility can bet really different from one product to the next 😂

Haha. Watch his other videos where he shows he's already over GVM but he keeps adding more and more gear. Must be at least 3 - 400kg over by now.

Dude, what is the new tap you've fitted to the water jerry!?? The one ours came with leak so bad and I've been looking for a replacement like yours. You recommend it?

So much friction in a garden hose, I realise you parked a fair way from river but it would be a lot wiser to carry a bucket of water to 4x4 and have a very short and possibly bigger dia hose, you’ll be surprised at the pressure difference

Seems way more trouble than it’s worth. Probably ok if camping in the same spot for a week
