Ever started selling your collection to find that it’s harder than it looks ?
I was very lucky in that locally I have a lot of buyers, and in other TCGs, a string of great ebay customers overseas. Just offloaded my EN DuelMaster cards to a NZ and US customer and they were both very understanding of delays. The main thing I learned was to be very communicative.
Is the market a sellers market now? I keep making offers and no one takes them on eBay. Lol am I doing something wrong or is the market that hot?😮😅😅

Buying cards are a helluva lot easier than selling them.
YES! LOL 😂 being a collector has a balance and being good with sales is a big part of it I think. I hate selling my stuff though this is hard for me. But it’s all part of the journey and a bigger plan!
Selling is pretty easy just have a yard sale and some signs up people will come

Buddy I am 37 years old. Married, have debt, car payments, house payments and I feel exactly like you with medical issues also. When you said " let go and growing up" hit hard. I just started selling on eBay a month ago and at first I thought it would be hard because of no sales and no reviews, but people bought things from me pretty quickly and I haven’t had any complaints yet. I think what helped is the amount of detail in my posts. A lot of good clear pictures and a detailed description of what they were getting, how I package and ship it, etc.
I think this actually goes a long way in reassuring people more than ratings sometimes, because what I noticed is that when some sellers get so big, the quality control can slip in some occasions and what I mean by that is since they are moving so much inventory, sometimes a card gets a little scuff or beat up in some way that wasn’t mentioned in their listing because they don’t have time to micro manage the condition of their huge inventory in some cases.
Basically bottom line is that people will find and buy your stuff regardless of your ratings as long as you properly describe and show it. I would aim for a profit in most cases but letting go of stuff for cheaper prices is a good way to get eyes on your store in general.

I do like when a seller is quick to update status to “shipped”. I think they do that by having a log in and printer set up. When a sale is delayed for 2-3 days before an update I do start to wonder about buying from that seller again
I try and give all buyers updates immediately even when I’m right about to get out the door! And everything I try to ship next day regardless if people pay the day after part of being a good seller is knowing that you’ll have to put others first. If that’s how I trim the fat of my collection then that’s what I’ll do! But yeah I need to go buy a printer and purchase shipping envelopes from eBay cause the money does add up. I’ve spent so much on shipping paying for it myself. Great comment Andy!

my zebra label printer was the best investment I've ever made for my business. Selling on ebay and using their shipping options saves a ton of time and money. The hour you spent in USPS can be cut into minutes in the comfort of your own home. Plus, ebay allows you to ship cards that sell for 20 dollars or less for under a dollar WITH tracking. You can schedule Free USPS pickups to your house also, and you wont have to go to the post office at all. And USPS will give you free shipping supplies on their site, mostly boxes for non-card items.

If you don’t want shipping to eat up your sale revenues, you have to sell singles that cost more than $20. I was selling singles and anything selling for under $20 just wasn’t worth it after eBay fees and shipping was paid for. I only sell sealed products now, unless it’s a higher end single.
See I would agree normally agree with you on that but if you can squeeze several cheaper cards in even at 5$ a card that’s 50$ a day if you can get 10 out the door a day. It seems like a lot but if someone orders several at a time together they can be shipped together at no cost to you. I think auctions weekly work for me most. You don’t always get what you want but it’s going to sell typically. Great comment overall though, the shipping is a cost I usually pass on to the buyer at this point because it’s already taking gas and time to sell it I factor that in when charging for shipping. USPS will pickup your packages for free if you schedule online. It's a major time saver!

I love grading cards too. And I just about grade any vintage holo because you can’t argue condition with a graded card. But graded cards also move pretty easy too
I noticed my graded auctions did the best even with low grades - but you’ve got to get a decent grade so I think 5’s and 6’s won’t cut it for my old holos. I may have to get them graded to sell but I don’t want to add another layer to it. I also believe as long as you’re transparent and let buyers know if there’s a flaw or not they’ll be happy. Honesty is key! Ugh I need to start grading my collection this year. I think I’m hoping psa goes down to like 5-10$ specials a card. At that point screw it! 15$ a card is still a bit hard for my wallet. Maybe that’s me just being cheap? Love seeing your comment buddy ❤️🙏🏼
One thing I’ve noticed from studying the WOTC era stuff is you need to have auctions end Sunday between 9pm-11pm EST to maximize the most profit. Thing that end of weekday or weird times tend to lose around 10-15% of that value.

100% bro buying a label printer even if it’s a cheap one is a game changer.
I use a Mac book and have to screen cap the label to have it print correctly but better than printing on paper and taping each slip onto the envelope or mailer.

Great video! First time finding your channel. I agree with a lot of your points. Thank you for sharing. Food for thought I will always prefer raw cards because I believe grading will be subjective until we finally perfect some sort of computer verified grading process (in my humble opinion). I also have such a hard time getting rid of my loved possessions hahaha so you can at least feel seen in that aspect. The market is going down but as a whole but I think over time history will repeat itself.
Also reusing packaging will only help the environment over time as well as save money!!! A half garage full is something I can't relate to tho 😅

I started collecting Pokemon TCG back again in 2019 and went hard and spent $$$ Mostly Sealed ETB from Sun & Moon and Sword & Shield. Was very lucky enough to make profits $$$ on them before they Skyrocketed & then Sold some & Bought Singles that I wanted for my High End Binder😊 Yeah It’s really Hard at 1st to Sell your Collections but with Good return it’s really worth it and you’ll be happy.

Now I collect as an adult and I don’t worry what anyone thinks. It’s been great ever since I got back into it. Financially it’s tough to keep up with this hobby though, I’ll admit ! Definitely key to communicate with buyers. I have 2 orders that haven't shipped despite being a week since I paid and they haven't said anything. One of them I know is in Hokkaido and I had the same experience last time, but the other I'm nervy about. Me being nervy makes me not want to repeat buy from a seller to be honest

I definitely know stress buying my dog died and i probably spent $2k in a week. Now my credit card is $7k 🤦🏽♂️

Just cause he’s the man! 😎 I really need to get paramount plus so I can actually finish the halo series- I saw the first few episodes on a plane and it was a phenomenal show!
Hey man like the video, I have a local library right next to my usps that i print my labels at for only 20cents a page. I feel like its better than buying a printer and ink because i just use my spare change to pay for labels and its the same gas since its down the street from the usps! Keep up the good content!

I always use the QR code label on eBay and never have any issues. Sold 100 plus items this way. I bring the packaged item into USPS they scan my phone. It will automatically print your label he/she gives you you’re receipt and you’re good to go. Hope this helps.

Theres a way to ship in a 66 cent envelope and get tracking in an ebay flat rate envelope, but i believe u need a printer in your house to make it work for you, im working on doing that right now for myself too
Yeah I still can’t confirm it works well but I have a few more days until eBay confirms anything yet tracking in these printed labels for envelopes is iffy I think I’ll find out soon!

Your collection good?
Having a good clean setup with a label maker and all of your supplies and inventory highly organized makes all the difference. I still hate shipping tho
Shipping sucks so much lol. I have a more proper setup now than I did making this video but I still don’t like the stress and pressure. Now that I’ve shipped 73 sales out successfully using all kinds of methods I don’t care so much. I print my labels and tape them still but it’s all very organized. I do want a thermal printer for labels to directly stick on but I can’t justify the cost yet. 2-300$ could get a nice thermal printer but it also could get half a case of cards. So many decisions!

Dude Awesome Video I hope for great health for your Mom and all to go well with her procedures and a speedy recovery as well. My Mom is going through the same thing right now and it's hard to hear the news when they share but really important that they know we're there for them like they've always been for us. I mean look at us how lucky to have such prized things that shine that parents kinda hardly understand 😅 it's a crazy shift from when they were younger but I'm happy to see that You're transparent and let it be known that honestly You don't like letting go of things You collect same as Me. It's just that we value our families health and a great way to make money back to help their financial services to maintain and recover health is to sacrifice some of our shiny cards for others to enjoy and spread happiness and joy. Making jobs too by having people deliver mail and all that it's a big picture to send one card out successfully on a mission. 😅

Imo it’s really hard to sell raw cards consistently. I’ve been selling since long before the boom and started grading just this year. Graded cards move quicker and come with way less headaches. Also you tend to sell at lower prices in auction unless you’re a huge account like TCA.
I’m hardheaded tho lol. I refuse to do auctions unless an item has been sitting for 6 months or more. I’m Buy It Now all the way.
I used to be an offer kind of guy but I don’t have time for all the messages so the auctions are the way for me- it’s more spring cleaning vibe than making profits but I may have to take some cards to get graded ! Great comment as always cozi 😎

I learned a little lesson recently .
I sent 33 cards to cgc to grade...huge error I made is I used subgrades ... adding a proce of 15 to each card. total 30 each card to grade.
problem is like 10 or more of the cards were so low value that.the grading did not raise the value on the card... weird lesson but I should research the cards and their values before sending off to grade and only sending the high value ones.
Yes I feel a lot of people will make that mistake - grading in general is not entirely necessary for newer set cards but for older ones I would recommend it! 😎
It's so easy to sell the popular cards tho sometimes. Those are also the ones you wanna keeptho 😂.

listening through this video I'd highly recommend purchasing a thermal label printer. If you want to take in consideration of your time then you'll pay off the cost of that printer in less then a month. Being able to print out batches of labels all at once is crazy useful.

As I’m watching I wanted to let you know man if you can find a thermal printer for cheap it will save you hours and days of time from going to post office …. Can print off own labels and just drop off

My printer paid itself off in about a month. I use pirateship. The prices are so much better than going to the post office or UPS store.

Do you have a video on tips for buying entire collections? I can never seem to find good deals. Maybe ebay is not the place? Facebook market place seems pretty dead as well.
Just word of mouth to be honest talk to everyone you know and become the person who buys all the cards! Or just be tight with your local LGS you never know when a game shop owner gets a collection in but doesn’t want it - always good to be tight with them ! 😎
Get a printer and if you ship in plain white envelopes you can print the label onto the envelope and save some $

@@orionsires The more you sacrifice the more you gain. I cannot decide what direction to go with selling. I have tons of singles vintage and modern. Not many slabs hardly. Japanese and English singles along with sealed product. I have Instagram with like 1,500 following but Instagram put me on permanent restrictions for some Facebook add. Which was bogus I dont even have a Facebook account..

I collect boxes purely for the art and they aren’t all empty - my base set box for example has 17 loose packs. 500$ a pack that’s a 8500$ and that’s just one piece of my collection. My favorite part is my complete 1st ed collection too and almost every WOTC set complete. So yeah having a sealed box to flex would be cool but I still have everything in the older sets! I don’t take your comment personally I assume it’s all in good fun! 😂😎 I know it can seem kind of weird having old boxes as a display but I personally love them!

First point absolutely agreed! Haha well the credit card does work towards your credit and gives you 2% rewards. Some cards are very hard to locate locally or in person. The credit card also has its own layer of fraud protection that could be useful. 😎
one avenue you might not have considered, and i dont know where you live, but selling at a small card or collectible show. If you can find one locally where you're paying $100-200 a table and net $2-3k for the weekend you can move a lot of those lower end cards and make some contacts who might be repeat buyers

I sell just my doubles but ebay holding my money for weeks even though i have been doing it for over a year,sold over 100 cards some even in the 200-300 range and dont even have 1 bad feedback but they still insist that i have not enough experience/good feedback to get my money day 1 is bullshit!
