So much nostalgia. I loved this game sooo freakin much! It was always awesome coming home from school and putting this in. I always chose the Excursion :)
+Anthony Grazutis i think people who create these games care too much about graphic details and they think buyers have the same tastes as them , which is false
3:00 - This language version of this game happens to be the US English version since you can see that the word "tire" uses the American spelling. But in the PlayStation 2 version of 4x4 Evo 2 (which was only released in Europe for unknown reasons), it had the spelling changed to "tyre" (which is the British spelling) because it was only released as a UK English version (it was also released in France and Germany), though I wish they released the original US English version of it on the PlayStation 2.
Just a heads up to anyone passing through. Been working on an update project called the 4x4 Evolution Revival Project (4x4EvoR), it's a work in progress but it fixes and adds a bunch of things. Including the online multiplayer. Check it out at:4x4evoupdates
PS2. Gamestop did a massive clearance of their PS2 titles starting 9/20/12. G2B2 on everything 3.99 and under, w/separate sales for 5-for-$1 and 10-for-$1 on all 99¢ games, which ended Sunday. As of monday, all remaining overstock under 3.99 was to either be 1) shipped off to their warehouse as "damaged," 2) shipped off to stores with higher level PS2 sales, or 3) destroyed. Closest stores around me wiped out their inventory, so I swooped in and bought a bunch of games before they were gone.
you can go to a race on this game and just drive around but there's no atual frre roam mode..wish they'd remake this game of ps3 and xbox 360..by far the best off road game i've ever played..this game was definitely ahead of it's time for sure
What happened to this game? I forgave Terminal Reality for making this instead of MTM3 because of how awesome it was, but I haven't seen a game that's anything like this for over 10 years now. Well, maybe except for Motorm4x which I will admit is kinda fun, but it's just not the same. I do hope someday we will see more games like these ones. Heck, I would love to see a Terminal Velocity 2, which could be set after the events of unknown body and have a much darker overtone.
Is there a way I can adjust the steering sensitivity, like I could with Monster Truck Madness? It's just that the default controls are quite loose, and I keep losing races because of this issue!
This game was awesome but I feel like the fact that they used all 2000 and 2001 model years made the vehicle selection somewhat boring. Nonetheless one of my favorite offroad racers! The PC version people have made custom models. Got the PS2 version back in 2001 but the disc became scratched and I traded it in for 50 cents or something like that, shoulda just kept it :/ Found PC version, but the source I downloaded it from modded the physics a bit burned a copy of the dreamcast version the other night, the sound effects are minimal in comparison to the PS2 version. Graphics might be slightly worse too, haven't looked around too much yet
No, there isn't. Free Roam mode wasn't introduced until 4x4 Evo 2 was made (if only they cared to released the PlayStation 2 version of it in North America, though; that's why I made a custom North American NTSC PS2 release front cover of it and put it in Part 1 of "My Custom North American NTSC PlayStation 2 Game Release Front Covers" slideshow video series).

i really miss this game
That was a trip down memory lane. Thanks!
Why don't they make games like this anymore.

why is nobody asking this question? are we missing something?
I love this game during childhood, I was playing this game on PC in Kuwait.. Beautiful Nostalgia .

Does anyone remember that PS2 driving game where you can add School buses to a track editor?
Picked this up for a buck at Gamestop on Sunday.

Not really, I just picked it up from the three friends that like anime.
If I remember right there is a free roam mode in the PC version.

I dislike the fact that they put this game on a CD instead of a DVD
