Hey man I was wondering if there’s a different pulley system I’d have to use if I was gonna use Iwonder wheels instead theres so many online and I’m struggling to figure out the best ones to use
I own, use and build E boards and this is one of the best and most detailed build videos I have ever seen and this is by far my favorite one and thank you so much for getting the concept of motor kv correct. It’s sad how many people are taught that kv is kilovolt or something else incorrect. Thank you so much for video man
So, if anyone wants to do this I'd recommend thicker riser pads. Also, what's not shown in this tutorial is a lot of sanding to get the motor pulley to not rub against the caliber trucks. DO NOT get the cheap ebay ESC, get a VESC...thank me later.
Looks like las vegas housing! To me. I was in a car accident and totaled my car tried to the bike thing but im actually much faster and efficient on skateboard. I took out my industrial blank which doesnt exist anymore! And i put new wheels bigger softer wheels and this is the next option so thank you
Yup, been in Vegas for 16 years. Surprising out side of the strip people live here, LOL. Glad you enjoyed the video. I’m really not in the Esk8 game or YT anymore but always miss riding
I'm a old big kid with limited long board experience and don't like pushing. I'd like a electric board, but I'm on a budget and I see some cheap boards, but I worry about durability, service and throwing my money away on them. Thanks for the video, just the information and help that I need. I think a DIY eboard is what I'm going to focus on, to learn and be able to get the best equipment, even though it may take me longer.
Hi William! I appreciate the kind words and wish you luck with your build. In regards to your comment, I feel DIY is definitely a great learning experience. However it can get expensive. If you need a parts list feel free to email me at bigkidsofficial@gmail.com.
Great video, Neil! Educational, entertaining, funny elements and the right degree of detail for newbees like me. Really enjoy your content. 👍 Looking forward to part two. What I'd love to see is a vid where you describe how you select your components for a project. Like why you took that but not this part, which benefits does one system have over another. That would be awesome.
Daniel Däuber thanks brotha! I appreciate your support 🙏🏽 and comments. It’s very constructive and I’ll be keeping them in mind when i make part 2. I’ve already completed the board build and the filming so it’s just a matter of editing. Hopefully, I’ll have it up soon after the holiday. Thanks again for supporting 👍🏽 the Big Kids channel and you know I’ll be supporting you as well! - Neil
Hey man I just saw your first electric longboard build. I've been thinking about creating a build myself but I wasn't sure what to buy. I've got the basic concept from building drones, but your video series is great and laying everything out and easy-to-follow manner. You just got yourself another subscriber my friend. Keep up the great work!
Hey Peter! Thanks for the kind comments! Yeah, I work from home and do have spare time to make these videos. When I first built my board I noticed I needed to jump from one video to the next and piece together all the information. So I thought, "hey I should make a video/channel dedicated to esk8 builders!". I really appreciate that you see some value in this series. I'll be posting part 3 this week so stay tuned! If you'd like a parts list shoot me an email at bigkidsofficial@gmail.com. - Neil
hello i m from PARIS watching your DIY step by step, congratulations......it s easy to understand how to do, even for people like me, (who don't speak fluently english)
Awesome video, I'm currently in the process of building my own eboard, Im ordering most of my parts from DIYelectricskateboards. I appreciate all the small tips and stuff in this build video, cant wait for part 2!
Awesome, James! That's great you've gone the DIY route...I couldn't be more of an advocate. Anyhow, good luck with your build and let me know if you have any questions. With a family, work, and the holiday recently...I'm a bit backed up with "to-dos". I'm working on the second video and I'll have that up as soon as possible. - Neil
Hey Rob! That actually means a lot to me. It was really my intention to try and do both. One thing I noticed about DIY hobby videos is that most of the time all you see is their hands and second the video can be a bit dry. So I wanted to reach as my people with this video by keeping the facts available yet entertaining. however, if you go on to my next 2 videos of this series they tend to get a bit more straight to the point. Thanks again for check out the video and hope you subscribe :) - Neil
@@BigKidsOfficialHi , i ride electric and standard. Have a Black Hawk Pro and basic Razor x. . I did buy a small Kmart scooter which did 9 kph then modified and got 41 kph. I do plan on building a skateboard.
@@chuckmaddison2924 that's great man! I think we all have a little more time on our hands and hope you build a great electric skateboard in the future! Thanks for supporting the channel!
I'm glad they helpped! When I built my first esk8 I found that most of the videos were not clear or we're just missing something. Although they were helpful, they didn't feel complete. So, this is why I made this DIY series. I really love DIY esk8 and hope that many people can enjoy it as much as me.
Yeah, I've made several and I started with 0 experience. I just took my time, however long that would be. If you'd like a parts list shoot me an email at bigkidsofficial@gmail.com. good luck!
I just made mine with 6300 watts of power, dual 6374 setup, carbon fiber racing deck with grip, 12S4P battery with BMS, about 40 MPH, LED lights (1600 LUMENS), and 50 mile range. Will post my video in about a month or less. The most challenging was the wheel drilling, as I put all six bolts and the knurled set screws that kept coming loose, had to really torque them in....
Sweet build bro! Did you get a 12 inch truck to fit the dual 6374 motors? My next build is going to be dual Carvon direct drive motors; I can't wait. Shoot me a DM when you upload the video I love seeing peoples builds. dude, last week I saw a quad drive with pnumatic wheels rated for 60 mph!!!! - Neil
I had to purchase the 218mm trucks to fit the Torque Boards 6374 motors. I think my board is dangerous at 40 MPH, let alone a 60 MPH pneumatic wheel board. I can't even take mine to its limit, because I'm too scared to go any faster than about 20 MPH, at least for now, maybe when I get more comfortable later I'll go faster. Actually, I'm going to start custom building different type of electric boards and sell them. Current system cost me about $2000; selling it for $2500.
ELLIOTT MORIARTY very cool! Yeah, the best part of DIY is that you are only limited to your imagination! I also thought of selling complete builds. Good luck with that! It’s funny how speed becomes relative. Once you get used to a speed it starts to feel slow. I’ve topped my board out at 33mph and now I want more! Anyhow, I love talking shop. Please stop by again and I look forward to getting to know you in the comments! - Neil
Thanks Amelia! Part 2 has already been filmed and the board is completely built. Hopefully after the holiday I'll get it edited and uploaded. Thanks for watching!
Hey Neil, Awesome Vid )) totally blown away with the detail ))) congratulations. I think you and I are in a small group of EBoard Reviewers on UA-cam that demonstrate actual modifications / hacks and take people through step-by-step guides )) which is just so refreshing )) Beautiful camerawork macro incredibly detailed just loved it Neil )) I know that you and I again are in a limited number of youtubers that actually get back to everybody in comments !!! which takes about an hour every morning and an hour every night so I know how much work you go into too )) keep up the great work Neil congratulations again )) well done cheers Bro Andrew)(
Thanks Andrew! I'm really excited that you and I had connected online. Being that we're in a small niche of esk8 UA-camrs that show DIY and hacks I'm sure you understand that time and effort that goes into getting your facts straight, filming, editing, promoting, and then answering questions. Although we're so similar I appreciate your creativity and angle when creating the vids, I actually go to you for inspiration. I hope we continue to support one another and hopefully soon we can do a collaboration; when time permits! Hope you're well brotha! Stay in touch. - Neil
Big Kids /hey Neil )) well that’s very humbling indeed. That’s just made my day and made my non-monetised UA-cam Channel very appreciative and all so worthwhile LOL )) sure love to collaborate at some stage I’ve got a few ideas that would be great Neil )) basically I want to get my next couple of quick Vlogs and reviews out .. including the latest modification / hacks especially the Landwheel Gen 5 K3-X ultra fix and then I’ll organise something with you that be awesome. And yes great inspiration to bro too ... seriously, your presentation which is first class is easy to watch it flows beautifully and is never a slide across bar action when I watch your videos )) I always watch right through to the end, fantastic stuff Neil )) an amazing contribution you are making )) Cheers Bro Andrew )(
Thanks for the vid on hardware. In the next video, could you go over the BLDC tool for calibration? I find that the actual calibration is the hardest part for my electric board, mostly because there's just so much I don't know about the BLDC and the VESC in general.
+lazyboy395 hey there! Thanks for checking out the video and hope you consider subscribing for more vids like this. I’ve recently completed all of the filming and building for the next video. And, yes I have covered VESC configuration through BLDC. Stay tuned and hopefully ill have something ready after the Thanksgiving holiday. -Neil
Just make sure you DON'T have zinc hardware, as zinc hardware can snap easily. This meaning when you are using your board, or uninstalling the hardware, you could very well snap it and have a much harder time putting things together. Basically, just make sure you get good hardware.
HEY! I am trying to build an electric skateboard so I started watching your tutorials, which are great! The problem is that a do not understand the things related with the battery. Can you do a video explaining how does the battery works? How many volts do I need for feeding the motors? Bye, thanks!
Hey there! Thanks for watching! I hope you'd consider subscribing to see more videos like this one. Alejo, thanks for the input. I'm actually working on part 2 of the build where I talk about choosing batteries and configuring the VESC. In the meantime I do have a video that focuses on LiPo batteries: ua-cam.com/video/3dfBrrNUsos/v-deo.html Please read through the comments as there is some fellow esk8ers that caught a couple mistakes in my description. But, all in all it will be very helpful. Have you bought parts for your build yet? - Neil
Big Kids Hey! Thanks por your answey. Í havent bought anything yet because I am from Argentina and many of those things are not available here. That is why I need to be sure about everything (the building process, matterials, etc) and i sólo buy it on Amazon. I will be waiting that second part!! Bye, thanks you!!
+Alejo B no problem my friend! Email me at bigkidsofficial@gmail.com and I️ can send you a parts list. I️ also partner with esk8 vendors that will ship to Argentina 🇦🇷! Part 2 soon to come. Stay tuned! Ciao Neil
The tune of Lee Hey there! Thanks for checking out the video and hope you consider subscribing to see more videos like this one! Anyhow, I’m so happy 😀 that you are considering building a board. Nothing wrong with full production boards. But if I️ was to buy a Boosted or Evolve I️ feel like the hobby would pretty much end there. Now, i am capable of building one from scratch and my imagination is the only limitation to my hobby! Good luck and keep in touch! If you need any help please leave me a comment; I️ ❤️ love talking shop! -Neil
Well I got my board in the other day. It's a all carbon fiber 39" from Hi5iber. Going to order the parts here shortly. Got all the time in the world right now it's winter up here wouldn't be riding for months.
Hey there! Thanks for watching! I hope you'd consider subscribing to see more videos like this one. This build was done on a budget of about $550. the 97mm wheels used in the video were clones which run about $35. If you can spend a bit more I'd go with the the genuine ABEC 11 Flywheels. - Neil
Hey Luke! Thanks for checking out the video! Hope you'd consider subscribing to see more videos like this one. Anyhow, traditionally esk8s are rear wheel. I've only seen one electric sksteboard that was front wheel drive, and that thing was super fast! Honestly, front wheel makes a lot of sense and I'm not sure why more people don't do it. Good luck and keep me posted on the buid! - Neil
+Rugged Productions I️ believe there are. However, not as common. I️ also can’t speak to how well they work. Let me know your solution as I’m curious. - Neil
+Rugged Productions my friend Dave with Psychotiller has a mount that I️ believe is made for round trucks. Check out his site! Reputable vendor in the esk8 scene: psychotiller.com/product/ripba-mount

Itching for part 2! HAHA! Fantastic work bro! I was wondering how a dual motor would work for me. I am in an area with quite a bit of hills. I am wondering what would be the best motor setup for me? Any ideas?
Hey there! Thanks for watching! I hope you'd consider subscribing to see more videos like this one. Depending on how heavy you are a single 6374 could handle a lot. However, a dual motor is always something I suggest for larger people and larger hills. I would go for a dual belt drive using (2) 6355 motors. Also, go for a 10s or 10 cell battery setup. That will get you up hills real nice. what part of the world do you live if you don't mind me asking? - Neil
Thanks fam! Oh man, I subscribed after the DIY video that was recommended. I am like 6ft 200lbs, so I was definitely going for a dual setup. I live in the DC metro area. I live on the surrounding suburbs and for some reason our entire neighborhood has a good set of hills. Nothing like SanFran, but enough to know it can bog down an average board with my weight. Thanks for the advice, I will do my research on your suggestion. I am getting everything ready before I start my process.
Happy new year bro! Hey, thanks again for checking out the video. shoot me an email at bigkidsofficial and I can send you a parts list to get you started.
Hey man, I am from Recife in Brazil, South America, and I really liked your videos... You should come to Brasil and open up a shop for esk8 here, we don’t have electric skateboards here, I own 02 dual pluses, boosted board v2s just because I love them but I had to have somebody bringing outside the country both of them so that’s the only reason I was able to get it but it’s not available here in Brazil, so in other words boosted board is not officially being sold down here in Brazil yet just yet Any who, Such a great video I love these 6374s...
Hey there! Thanks for watching! I hope you'd consider subscribing to see more videos like this one. I actually, have a couple DIY friends in Brazil that had made their own! You should build one for your next esk8! But, you're right, electric skateboards are super fun...to bad they're not official sold there :( - Neil
What size trucks would I need to fit 2 84mm long motors next to each other? I’d rather have them out the back as I’m doing a semi off-road build, but now I’m not sure if my motors are too big! Any info is greatly appreciated!
this is a GREAT video one question tho im watching you mount the motor onto the block and then the hub to the trucks can i back mount the motor??? or do i have to mount the facing into the middle of the board
Hey there! Thanks for watching! I hope you'd consider subscribing to see more videos like this one. Sorry for the late reply. It depends on the mount. There are many mounts out there that have the flexability to mount both forward and backwards. However, I believe that if I use this mount backwards the motor will touch the truck. Hope that helped. - Neil
HEY LAD . I NEED LIL ADVICE HERE ON ESCs AND VESCs . WELL I ORDERED 4600W 4x MOTORS AND I HEARD TO REACH THE MAXIMUM POWER I NEED SUPPLY THEM WITH 48V ........ WELL IS THERE ANY WAY I CAN FUK THE PEDAL TO HEAT THEM UP TO MAX WITH 22V-28V ??? BIG THANK YOU
Hey there! Thanks for watching! I hope you'd consider subscribing to see more videos like this one. I actually have a parts list that I've laid out all the parts used in 3 different builds (broken down by budget). Shoot me an email at bigkidsofficial@gmail.com and I can help you out with a parts list. - Neil
Would it be possible to use two different motors for something like an electric skateboard? As an example, 130kv for torque and 220kv for speed? Would you need a slipper on the lower kv motor for when the speed goes over it’s limit? Thanks
I've never personally down this. However, I'd imagine there would be some sort of error during programing on the VESC. If you're looking for a balance between torque and speed anything between 170kv and 200kv works well for even heavy riders.
Big Kids I’ll let you know if I try it! Thanks for the videos by the way they’ve been super helpful for me to work out what I want and need for my build! And to know that it’s even possible in the first place on a budget.
Haha yes! I have a soft spot in my heart for Illinois transplants! I love it there and it will always be home, but now that I’m in the West, it’s better just visiting Illinois 😉. Thanks for the support, and hope you’d consider subscribing to see more videos like this one! - Neil
👍Great video as always, Neil. I'm currently in the process of putting 12v Led lights on our eboards cause it gets dark early now. I'll share with you when i'm done. Hope you and the family have a great Thanksgiving holiday.
Thanks brotha! Man, you've started a dangerous addiction! I love building and I'm already planning for the next one, hehe. Let me know how the LED set up goes. I think I'm gunna add some down the sides as well.
I am thinking to get a wide board and add 4 motors(1 for each wheel) for more torque, and 3d print rubber tires to put on the wheel so that it is more comfortable, ofcourse I am putting in 4 times the normal might be expensive but I feel like it is worth it
4 motors tends to be overkill for most boards but I have seen a few people do it. 2 6374 brushless out motors would be fine for large hills and even people up to +300 lbs. Have you started your build yet?
Haha totally remember the waiting 😅. That's like half of the expirience! I've actually had to wait a year once for a very rare part. Good luck man and feel free to ask any questions in the comments area. Someone is bound to respond.
@@BigKidsOfficial Yeah thanks for the offer, but I feel like your videos answer all the questions already. Love your interaction, made 4 accounts and subscribed to your channel from each one!
In the middle of putting it together now and having major difficulties understanding all the attachments with the xt90s. Also how did you make that anti spark key?
+Zachary Zlotnick Hey there! Congrats on the build! Who did you end up buying from? Anyhow, I️ hope you can be a bit patient, as I’m on vacation till Monday next week. After the holiday I️ jus have to edit the video of the finished board, where I️ talk about the series connector, loop key, and vesc. If you need help now feel free to shoot me an email with your current situation and I️ can help. You know my email 😉 - Neil
Hey man, really digging your vids and looking forward to part 2. If you don't mind me asking, I'm building the exact same skateboard as the one you're showing in this vid (same sized board, wheels, trucks, and MOTOR 6374), except it's going to be a dual motor. Will two of these motors fit on the truck you're using? (The 10 inch axle)
Hey there! Thanks for watching, Ryan! I hope you'd consider subscribing to see more videos like this one. The truck I use on this build will fit (2) 5065 motors: diyelectricskateboard.com/collections/electric-skateboard-motors/products/electric-skateboard-motor-5065-260kv?aff=3. However, if you use (2) 6374 motors I suggest 218mm truck from Torque Boards: diyelectricskateboard.com/collections/longboard-trucks/products/torqueboards-218mm-trucks?aff=3. Hope that helps! Keep in touch and let me know how it goes. I love talking shop and getting to know everyone in the comments! - Neil
Hey Neil, thanks for the help brother! Just subscribed to your channel. I'm over in Baltimore doing my residency and this board will definitely help with my commute to work/gym/library or whereever I have to go without having to worry about finding parking, paying for parking, or someone hitting my car. Thanks again man. Keep up the good work and I'll keep you posted!
do i have to get a exact voltage battery ? or if i have more voltage then i need the controler simply wont use it ? also, my city streets, are full of holes and loose rocks, this normal longboard wheels can face it or should i buy a off road wheel ?
What's the parts list for this build and total price? I have been wanting one for myself and when I go fly my racing /freestyle drones I build but they are wayy too expensive.
Can apart the belt from wheel when run out off the battery power for getting easier feed work? As my know, it is very heavy work on my feed if the belt keep on the wheel. Am I right?
Capacity in what sense? If he's a heavy rider I'd go with a dual motor set up with larger 6374 motors and a higher voltage battery pack 12s/44 volts. Hope that helps
Hey there! Thanks for checking out the video and for supporting the channel. I hope you'd consider subscribing to see more videos like this one. You can absolutely use your feet to kick if the battery is fully drained. However, belt driven motors will have drag or friction and will be difficult to kick. If you are looking for something you can kick with your feet more freely look into hub motor vs belt driven motors. Let me know if you have any other questions. -Neil
hey neil! is there any rub between the wheel and the belt? or did you do something to combat this? i just got my stuff, i haven’t put it together yet, but the belt seems to be very close to the wheel when i’ve eyeballed the pieces together (basically put them together without screws). any advice? or should i not be concerned. thanks!
Hey Bro! Honestly, this stuff isn't plug and play. There will be some trial and error when it comes to the parts. Even if you have a 12mm wide pulley and a 12mm belt you'll still need to take the time to align everything. Don't get frustrated and know that anyone that has made a board has gone through these challenges. If you have any problems search this forum as someone else has probably gone though the same thing: www.electric-skateboard.builders/ - Neil
Appreciate you checking out the video. Hope you'd consider subscribing to see more videos like this one. You could, but the stability may not be as reliable. If you do however do it, I'd step the battery voltage and motor down a bit. if you'd like a parts list for reference feel free to email me at bigkidsofficial@gmail.com - Neil
A new enertion raptor 2.1 electric skateboard would you be able to build me one please, maybe better wheels longer range per charge and fairly waterproof since I live in canada please, how much would it be and how long and I'd buy 2 or 3 batteries extra wheels as well
Hey Neil! I'm working on my first build and was wondering if you could give me some advice? I bought a 6374 190KV motor from torque boards which has a Max Power: 3150 Watts Max Amps: 80 Amps Max Volts: 12S How do I know what battery will work best? Would I need 12 cells? I'm eager to finish my build up but have hit this road block. Any advice is appreciated! Thanks!
Are you going to be running Lipos or LiIons? Second you'll want to go 10s or 12s with your batteries. That is 36v or 44v respectively. 12s (44v) can run a little hot on one motor, but it can be done and will give you more speed the 10s (36v). Personally, I run 10s Lipos are have gotten my board up to 33mhp which is plenty. As for mAh (milliamp hours) I'd try for a minimum of 5000mah (5ah). With that my build has taken me up to 11 miles. It all depends on your max riding speed, weight, and terrain. Let me know if that makes any sense.
Hey there! Thanks for watching! I hope you'd consider subscribing to see more videos like this one. I have more and more people asking about hub motors and I'll definitely do a video on them. - Neil

Dope video! This is perfect and clear instructions on building an e board. GREAT tutorial. I'll be back to watch again once I get everything for my 1st build. I really like part on here, wanted a dual setup but I just cant afford it right now. So I'm going with this exact setup, minus the wheels and deck. I went with those A.T. MBS 100mm wheels instead. My roads are terrible. Anyways, dope video man, keep it up!
Hey man thanks for checking out the video and for supporting the Big Kids channel. I hope you would consider subscribing to see more videos like this one. that's great to hear that you'll be building your first electric skateboard. Honestly a single build is just as good as a dual build. Where the duel build is superior is handling Hills. However speed-wise you should be going as fast as a dual build. 100 MM Wheels are awesome I like him a lot thanks again for the kind words and hope to see you again soon. Happy building! - Neil
Thanks Chris! When I first built my board I thought theres was a lack of video out there. It existed but thought if it were a bit more polished I think it could help others. Thanks for checking out the video and hope you'd consider subscribing for more videos to come. - Neil
Big Kids your production value is high and it’s all so tasteful, I’m still watching your vids right now, I have that same carbon clip holder thingy from my RC days, I’m so stoked to get a board up and running
Hello, You'r videos are still great ! I've a question about wheel do you have any recommandation for terrain wheel ? Here's the thing I have 83mm wheels (Abec 7) but the thing is I feel all the imperfection of teh road (little holes, or stones) and i would like something less hard but more smooth (if I'm clear) Best Regards
I currently have a Verreal V1S and a Blitzart Hurracane dual motor. Both decent budget boards that have served me well but I would like to convert one of them to belt drive because I would like to run the rough stuff wheels. What kit could I buy that would work with one of those boards batteries and esc? Thanks
Hey Neil, awesome video as always. I like the creative transitions and way you put the video together! You're doing a great service to the esk8 community. It's helpful to see an up-to-date belt drive build. What made you go with that instead of hub motors?
Hey Oren! Thanks so much for the support. Especially from a fellow DIY esk8 UA-camr. My friend had road my DIY board and said he basically wanted the same thing. The hub motors undoubtedly ha less maintenance but the performance is lacking for what I want. However there are pro's and cons to both hub and belt. At the moment I like belt for it's performance. But, I'm excited for Carvon's direct drive hub motors.
That's true they both have different advantages. The Carvon motors are expensive but look well made and super powerful. Please make a video if you get them :). I'm looking forward to your next videos to see how your build turns out and how it performs!
+Oren's Projects thanks 🙏🏽! The filming and the board are already complete so it’s a matter of getting everything edited. Hopefully I’ll have something up after Thanksgiving. Take care brother! Thanks again 😀 - Neil
Hey there! Thanks for the support and for checking out my videos! I hope you'd consider subscribing for more videos like this one. You can absolutely use these trucks on a drop through deck however you will need to be concerned about clearance for your motor as it may be very low to the ground. Most people that use drop through decks undermount their Motors to the back vs under the deck. I hope that helps. -Neil
Big Kids thanks for that! I subscribed and sent you an email for the parts list. I couldn't find any decks like this on amazon. They were shaped differently or they were drop through.
Thank you and I appreciate your effort . Can you please guide me to any online platform from where I could buy all the parts needed for building the electric skateboard? Looking forward to seeing such educating and factual videos from you in the future.
Hi Ali! Thanks for checking out my video and for supporting the Big Kids channel! I hope you'd consider subscribing to see more videos like this one. I've actually put together a parts list for a complete DIY esk8 build. Shoot me an email at bigkidsofficial@gmail.com and I'll send it to you. - Neil

Big Kids I’m near the cannery and no I’ve just road regular longboard just recently one wheel feel off so I found you on UA-cam and never new about electric ⚡️
@@rootforce2013 cool bro! I always recommend DIY but, the person has to be up for the challenge. However, if you want a prebuit board there are so many options that are a good value! If you look on Facebook there is a esk8lv group, you should join as I think they do group rides
Roughly $800-$900 maybe more since I had to purchase tools. But now a days it's easier to build one on your own as companies have parts readily available
Please see video description for the updated parts list! Happy building 😊🔩🔧🧰🔋
2 years later and replying to comments, nice
Hey man I was wondering if there’s a different pulley system I’d have to use if I was gonna use Iwonder wheels instead theres so many online and I’m struggling to figure out the best ones to use
1,1000 dollars is not exactly affordable
I own, use and build E boards and this is one of the best and most detailed build videos I have ever seen and this is by far my favorite one and thank you so much for getting the concept of motor kv correct. It’s sad how many people are taught that kv is kilovolt or something else incorrect. Thank you so much for video man
Trying my best 😁 to inform and entertain! Thanks for checking out the video and hope you'd consider subscribing!
So, if anyone wants to do this I'd recommend thicker riser pads. Also, what's not shown in this tutorial is a lot of sanding to get the motor pulley to not rub against the caliber trucks. DO NOT get the cheap ebay ESC, get a VESC...thank me later.
does anyone have the parts list

Looks like las vegas housing! To me. I was in a car accident and totaled my car tried to the bike thing but im actually much faster and efficient on skateboard. Yup your black shirt confirmed it! Nice! Probably common knowledge but this was my first video I watched

This video is a perfect mix of entertainment and getting to the point of the video! Dope man!
Thanks again for check out the video and hope you subscribe :)

I'm glad they helpped! When I built my first esk8 I found that most of the videos were not clear or we're just missing something. Although they were helpful, they didn't feel complete. So, this is why I made this DIY series. I really love DIY esk8 and hope that many people can enjoy it as much as me.
Did it work out for you do you have any advice for parts I should get?
Yeah, I've made several and I started with 0 experience. I just took my time, however long that would be. If you'd like a parts list shoot me an email at bigkidsofficial@gmail.com. good luck!
From where did you ordered them ?
How much was cost? And where did you go for parts?
Very helpful with the list for DIY parts - thanks!
Glad you enjoyed it
I just made mine with 6300 watts of power, dual 6374 setup, carbon fiber racing deck with grip, 12S4P battery with BMS, about 40 MPH, LED lights (1600 LUMENS), and 50 mile range.

Thanks for the vid on hardware. In the next video, could you go over the BLDC tool for calibration? I find that the actual calibration is the hardest part for my electric board, mostly because there's just so much I don't know about the BLDC and the VESC in general.

Forward or rear wheel drive? Great video, parts you recommended are bought but my question needs answering before I can start building
Hey Luke! Thanks for checking out the video! Hope you'd consider subscribing to see more videos like this one. Anyhow, traditionally esk8s are rear wheel.

You should come to Brasil and open up a shop for esk8 here, we don’t have electric skateboards here, I own 02 dual pluses, boosted board v2s just because I love them but I had to have somebody bringing outside the country both of them so that’s the only reason I was able to get it but it’s not available here in Brazil, so in other words boosted board is not officially being sold down here in Brazil yet just yet
Any who,

What size trucks would I need to fit 2 84mm long motors next to each other? I’d rather have them out the back as I’m doing a semi off-road build, but now I’m not sure if my motors are too big! Any info is greatly appreciated!
Where did you buy this electric skate kit
This is interesting and hilarious at the same time
Thanks man! 😁
this is a GREAT video one question tho im watching you mount the motor onto the block and then the hub to the trucks can i back mount the motor??? or do i have to mount the facing into the middle of the board

Big Kids I’m using two ESC, one for each motor, would it still not work? Thanks
I see. Yes, then they would individually work however they would most likely spun at different rates. Do it for science! I'd love to hear your result
Big Kids I’ll let you know if I try it! Thanks for the videos by the way they’ve been super helpful for me to work out what I want and need for my build! And to know that it’s even possible in the first place on a budget.
Also I ordered some 273mm trucks. Will that have enough clearance for 2 6374 motors if I wanted to add another in the future?
Oh yeah that should be more than enough space. Just make sure your motor mount fits the type of truck you were buying.

Do you know how to upgrade the maximum capacity? I’m looking to build this for someone but he’s pretty heavy😅
Capacity in what sense? If he's a heavy rider I'd go with a dual motor set up with larger 6374 motors and a higher voltage battery pack 12s/44 volts. Hope that helps
Quick question could you countersink the truck bolts lower for a cleaner finish

Hey I was wondering if u could use ur feet if the battery fan out
If you have any problems search this forum as someone else has probably gone though the same thing: www.electric-skateboard.builders/
- Neil
alright! will do, thank you Neil

@@BigKidsOfficial could i also get links for all the pieces? Please
Please send me an email at bigkidsofficial@gmail.com
Anyone ever get a parts list please post
You did a great job here. Very entertaining. Thanks. where did you get those pulleys? I can't seem to find ones that are so nicely keyed.
Thanks.
What do you think about doing this with a penny longboard?
Appreciate you checking out the video. Hope you'd consider subscribing to see more videos like this one. You could, but the stability may not be as reliable. If you do however do it, I'd step the battery voltage and motor down a bit. if you'd like a parts list for reference feel free to email me at bigkidsofficial@gmail.com

I bought a 6374 190KV motor from torque boards which has a
Max Power: 3150 Watts
Max Amps: 80 Amps
Max Volts: 12S
How do I know what battery will work best?
Thanks bro! I’ve decided to go with 2 5s Lipos
Hey Bro, nice Video ;) how about a Video with some different hub motors?
Hey there! Thanks for watching! I hope you'd consider subscribing to see more videos like this one. I have more and more people asking about hub motors and I'll definitely do a video on them.

Hey Neil. I am having trouble figuring out how to program my ESC. It seems to accelerate fine, but I need to slow down the brake. Can you help?
Hey there! Thanks for watching! I hope you'd consider subscribing to see more videos like this one. I'm sorry to hear that. Sorry for the late reply as I've been super busy with the holiday, family, work, and social obligations. However, I'd love to help. Let me start by asking, are you using a VESC?
- Neil
Big Kids Hey Neil. No worries.
Yep, I am a subscriber.
I am using a Vesc from DIYelectric and I have a 6355 260kv motor
Can I get a complete parts list please?
hey I just liked and subscribed to your channel!!!! I just watched this video and noticed that you have almost a 10% like rating to views for this video and that is awesome!!!! to anybody reading make sure and click the like even if you don't normally because it only takes a second and the video and the good electric skateboard videos are not in as abundant levels as they should be!!!! again great video and hope to see more builds!!!!
Hey Brotha! Thank you so much for the support and the subscription! I hope you continue to watch my videos to come. You're right though, the challenge putting together an entertaining video while getting my build and facts right isn't easy! But, hey, if it was easy everyone would be doing it right? But, the most somone one can do is either like, comment, subscribe, and/or share! Those actions really go a long way and are so appreciated! I, like some youtubers, actually go through all the comments and engage with the community! thanks again and hope to get to know you better in the comments!

What's the deference between using 36T/16T Pulley and 36T/12T Pulley ? (in term of speed or else)
Hi Neil! How you doing? I just have a small question to this awesome build. Where did you buy your skateboard deck? Would really appreciate a link :)
Hey Bro! Shoot me an email at bigkidsofficial@gmail.com and I'll send you a parts list.

Really nice Work!
Appreciate you checking out the video. Hope you'd consider subscribing to see more videos like this one.

Great video! you have a new subscribe :P Thanks for the in depth info it really helps out a new builder
Thanks Chris! When I first built my board I thought theres was a lack of video out there. It existed but thought if it were a bit more polished I think it could help others. Thanks for checking out the video and hope you'd consider subscribing for more videos to come.

Big Kids your production value is high and it’s all so tasteful, I’m still watching your vids right now, I have that same carbon clip holder thingy from my RC days, I’m so stoked to get a board up and running
Haha yeah, that clip comes in handy for soldering for sure. Thanks for the support!
HEY! I'm kinda lazy so, with all of the parts and everything, how much would this cost.
Depending on what you want to spend but I'd say a minimum of $800
Hello,
You'r videos are still great !
I've a question about wheel do you have any recommandation for terrain wheel ?
Here's the thing I have 83mm wheels (Abec 7) but the thing is I feel all the imperfection of teh road (little holes, or stones) and i would like something less hard but more smooth (if I'm clear)
Best Regards
Just sentt u an email, when you have time please do send the list! Thanks
Thanks again 😀

dayum that black tupperware is sick. i'm using the lock and lock one xD
can i put trucks shown in the video on a drop trough deck?

Hey bro please upload the next video I am waiting for your next video please please please upload it.
I am big fan of you I love your channel and you.
Thanks Abdul! I'm so sorry for the delay. With family, work, and the holidays I'm really behind. I am working on getting the second video together slowly. Thanks again for the support!

Hey 👋🏾 bro just looking at your shirt I noticed your in Vegas? I’d like do a build if possible
Hey bro! Yup, live in good ol Sin City! I'm in the North West part of the valley. Have you build a board already?
Big Kids I’m near the cannery and no I’ve just road regular longboard just recently one wheel feel off so I found you on UA-cam and never new about electric ⚡️
@@rootforce2013 cool bro! I always recommend DIY but, the person has to be up for the challenge. However, if you want a prebuit board there are so many options that are a good value! If you look on Facebook there is a esk8lv group, you should join as I think they do group rides
So do you drill in the post or right next to it ?
Hey! I'd be happy to help, but could you let me know what section (with a time stamp) you are watching? Just so can answer you clearly.
I know this Video was made over 3 years ago but could I still email for parts?
Hey, thanks for checking out the video! Yeah, it's an older video but I'm still active on YT. Please feel free to email me!
do you have the list cause i also kinda want it
How Much was it to build ? I wanna build one with my dad but we’re also on a budget
Roughly $800-$900 maybe more since I had to purchase tools. But now a days it's easier to build one on your own as companies have parts readily available
@@BigKidsOfficial ok thanks
Let me know if there is any other way I can help 👍🏽
@@BigKidsOfficial ok thanks for your help
can you please give the links for the required products on amazon?
Hey there! Thanks for checking out this video. Please shoot me an email at bigkidsofficial@gmail.com and I️ can send you a parts list.
