Hey friends, tonight I'm sharing two brand new crockpot recipes that I've never shown on my channel before. They're what I call "Next Level" slow cooker meals. They need very little preparation, maybe just a little chopping or browning some meat, but they are SO delicious they are worth the little extra effort.

Crockpot Garlic Parmesan Chicken and Potatoes: / 196047390021323468
Crockpot Taco Pie Recipe from @whenwithjenn
1-1.5 lb ground beef, browned
1 small green bell pepper, diced
6 oz tomato paste
1 package taco seasoning
salt & pepper
3/4 cup water
8 oz can biscuits - (I think she means 8 biscuits)
optional: generous sprinkle of shredded cheese
Serve with: lettuce, tomato, avocado, cilantro, sour cream
Cook on low for 6-8 hours

Tomato paste-I think you open both ends but only take off one lid and then push through on the lid that is left. That should work better. But, like you said, scooping it out with a spoon works just as well 😊

NO, it doesn't work as well to use a spoon. Using the lid scrapes the can almost completely clean in ONE move; no need to scrape with a spatula, or if you DO scrape with a spatula, it will only take less than 15 seconds to remove ALL traces of the paste. How is that NOT better than a spoon?!
Came back to ask for some prayers please. My best friend’s daddy was hospitalized today. We’re praying for quick simple answers to get our little 90+ year old sweetheart back to his best health. Thanks for being a heart that knows what prayer can do. ❤

When you open up both ends of the tomato paste keep one lid in the can just push the lid through and it'll clean your can out I do it all the time

I cook for just myself in the crockpot all the time! Sometimes I do a large amount and freeze some, but I do make small portions in the slow cooker from time to time. Everything looks delicious, especially that taco pie!

I cook for just my hubby and me nowadays as well, and alot of times I'll make extra to freeze, I've been learning SO much about cooking extra and freezing for later, Oh my goodness! How convenient?!?! WHERE were ALL these crockpot recipes, and tips & tricks, in the 90s, when I was raising my young little boys and worked fulltime?? Ohh all this info could've helped me SOOO much!!
But, when I'm just cooking enough for just us two, I often wondered if my crockpot was too big for such small meals? He bought me a brand new Crockpot for Christmas, and it's the SAME EXACT one you have! Even the same pretty maroon color. So I decided IF it works great for you and your Patrick, it would be FINE for my Terry and me!
( Our 2 Electrician hubbys! My hubby was also an Electrician, though in a different capacity than your hubby, but I thought that was pretty cool! I think you said he worked for the city, more as a Line Electrician? My husband did Industrial and Commercial jobs, more as a Contract Electrician. He was also a Service Electrician, and also did alot of New Installation jobs, such as Krogers, Wal-Mart's & Meijers, just to name a few. So he was skilled in HVACR too. That's what his degree is actually in-HVACR, and he switched over to being fulltime Electrician and HVACR as needed at the company he ended up retiring from. Pretty cool huh?
Another fun fact- our favorite vacation spot, and where we spent our honeymoon is right by you!! AND I'm more than ready for a relaxing stay in our favorite cabins in Gatlinburg,,,but that won't be happening anytime soon :(( Though we're finally able to take off for a vacation after being fulltime caregivers to my Mom the last 11-12 yrs.,,,we just lost her 8 months ago,..between the loss of her, and our youngest son several yrs ago, we deserve a vacation but just not in the budget right now. SOO very grateful that our last vacation was down there, in 2011, and we ended up taking our son and my Mom. It was the very last vacation either of them ever had. So thankful for those special memories now. ♡♡

Love these! And yes, I half recipes all the time in my crockpot because we are empty nesters now. I actually bought one of the smaller crockpots from Walmart for our smaller meals. Nom Nom! Hubbie and I recently became empty-nesters so cooking for just the 2 of us has been a challenge. I bought a smaller, 4-qt slow cooker and making meals for the 2 of us became much easier! I just cut slow cooker recipes in half... and voila! works great.

Hey Mel that hack for the tomato paste does work. Just remove the one open end then use a spoon or ur fingers to push the other end to move the paste out the other side. Love ur videos and recipes. Especially the bubble up recipes. Happy cooking!! And God bless u and ur family

You leave the lid on one end of the tomato paste and push it through with the lid. Gets it all out nicely.

With the tomato paste, you detach both ends, but keep one end in and push the paste out. It gets most of the paste around the inside of the can… but then you have to grab the lid out of the bowl or pan…

You're supposed to cut both ends of the can open and leave one of the pieces of metal on and push the piece of metal through to push the tomato paste out. It really does work well. I'm sure somebody just neglected tell you how to push it through.

Well if you open both ends and use the one open lid to push through then it is easier. I've done it for year's and its a great idea.
You're supposed to open up both ends of the tomato paste and just push the lid through one end.
